  1. Did you recently move the QFA from your installer? Because Im using the stripped down one (no extensions) from your walkthrough post that I grabbed about a month ago. It also appears to be the same size as the one you currently have up there now as well.
  2. I want to change the time the scheduled task NAV creates after it is installed. I did a regsnap before and after and it doesnt appear as though this info is kept in the registry... So how does one modify a scheduled task unattended style?
  3. Ive made the modification to my firefox.js file and have it extracted to Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref after Firefox installation and the wizard is still coming up. Ive verified this file still has the following line in it. pref("profile.allow_automigration", true); Any ideas?
  4. Yes.
  5. Well, he actually did state in his post it was XP w- SP2
  6. well.. another thing that should be mentioned... if it is like the quick launch reg tweak... which I really think it is, it must be applied before the 1st time the user logs on. So for example, if you use runonceex method, this needs to be applied before it runs. You cant simply add this tweak while youre logged in and expect to see the results upon next restart.
  7. but its being installed on a fresh system, which wouldnt have these folders prior to install
  8. I would assume its the same reg key as the quick launch. Basically what youll need to do is setup your task bar exactly how you want it and export the following key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop]
  9. For some reason all of the shortcuts in Contol Panel > Admin Tools are removed when I move my Admin Tools Start Menu folder. I can easily copy the shortcuts from the moved start menu folder into the Admin Tools section in Control Panel... but how I do I this Unattended?
  10. Sure you could... just add the 'everyone' group to the 'Administrators' group.
  11. Unfortunately I use it on folders on multiple occasions... for example when I try to delete a folder and I get access denied... shows me what file is being used causing that error... So is this an issue with the who lock me program or how its being implemented by your pack Ryan?
  12. If youre using RunOnceEx, you can easily make a batch file that gives you a menu as to whether to choose Yes or no...
  13. Not sure if I should be posting this in this section but since Im using Simons FF silent installer I figured Id give it a shot... On what seem to be completely random occasions, Firefox crashes and brings up the User Feedback wizard thing. The only commonailty I can see as to when it crashes is when I click a link to a new page. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Better yet have an idea as to how to fix it? Thanks!
  14. May I ask how exactly you go this? My standard WinXP with SP2 cd with these folders removed is 404MB...
  15. There are multiple ways to do this... the MSFN guide does in fact outline 2 methods on how to do this... using the $OEM$ folder or installing from the cd / batch file or RunOnceEx. Look around... its there. Also, simply use search for each program you want to install for the particular method on installing each.
  16. Perhaps try posting in the WPI section...
  17. Hey glent... can you do me a quick favor? See if the 'New Folder' button works in the Open and Saves as dialog boxes... (Big thx Ryan) Removing the wholock me fixed the open and explore start menu, but I still have this issue....
  18. Im pretty sure theres a regtweak for this, but I dont seem to have it in my tweaks file... perhaps check the tweaks pinned thread. :EDIT: Perhaps try this... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...10entry191748
  19. But his shrink guide only gets the i386 down to 338MB... I was hpoing to slim it down a bit more.
  20. Well, since Ive had a bunch of issues with using nLite to reduce my XP image and the only other 2 Shrink write ups I could find was Goshs and jdeboeck's, both of which havent been updated for XP2, does anyone know of any other reference for this? I searched the last 90 days and couldnt find anything for "Windows XP SP2 Shrink". and yes.. Ive already followed the writeup on the UA guide Thanks.
  21. Well, I found Ive got more issues than I thought. 1. In the Open or Save dialog boxes, the 'New Folder' button doesnt work. 2. I recently got a new HTPC remote to use with meedio and I was having major issues getting it to respond. After a TON of troubleshooting and research I finally tracked it down to being caused by removing the Windows 'Performance' component... So it looks like back to the drawing board for slimming down my XP cd as I no longer plan to use nLite for this function.
  22. Dood... look like 10 posts down... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=28672 Search. Learn it. Love it. Use it.
