  1. Or that there are only x86 builds of MailNews. Are there any x64 builds?
  2. How does this compare to Thunderbird? Is it like earlier 1x and 2x versions? Or even like SeaMonkey Mail? How is it different than Matt Tobin's Interlink application?
  3. OK - so we're all up to date (by my own set criteria anyway.) So far, the system is still running awesome. So a few things: I intentionally skipped the March 2018 Security-Only Update (KB4088880), since it houses mitigations for Spectre and Meltdown. I was concerned that skipping it MIGHT introduce performance issues because later updates required it to be present. So far, that has not happened. Now remember that I started updating the system with the July 2019 update first, and worked backwards to installing the final update from December 2017. Three updates were not installed: December 2018 (KB4471326), February 2018 (KB4074589) and January 2018 (KB4056899) all reported that they were not required for this system, and I'm guessing that these three updates were superseded by later ones. I shall keep you all posted, and I'm hopeful that I can just continue updating from here on in.
  4. OK so, I'm about to do just what I described above (starting with the Security-Only Update from July 2019). Let's see what happens. If everything decreases performance-wise, I just have to remove today's updates.
  5. Rounded Tabs? Ewwwww! This is really becoming more like Chrome now. Unless there is a way to customize the browser tab placement, or the cache settings, I'll be sticking with Firefox. C'mon Microsoft! Show me what you can do!
  6. Yeppers! She works. You have to rename the SHA file name that downloads, but it works.
  7. I don't know why you'd say that. Quantum can still be customized MORE than Chrome. And rendering flow can be customized too. Quantum is a terrific browser.
  8. I still am, but I'm taking the cue from @NoelCand holding off on updates. So right now, I have my Windows 8 installation updated to November 2017, and I have the IE 10 engine (the browser is removed), and the built in Flash updated to current. Come the new year, I will try installing all of the updates from 2018 and 2019, minus the Spectre/Meltdown month from Spring 2018. I will work backwards and install the December 2019 Security-Only update, and then November, and then October.... and so forth, until I get to the December 2017 update.. Some will likely not install because they have been since superseded by a newer update. Then I will run my system for a month, rigorously testing it out to see if there are any performance or operational issues. And before you ask, "Jody, why don't you just install the latest rollup?"; that's because I hear on good authority that more telemetry patches are worked into the rollups. Mind you, even though I don't like not installing updates, I have to say that my system performs splendidly as it is.
  9. @Roytam I wouldn't think your New Moon v27 builds would be affected by this at all, no? https://www.ghacks.net/2019/07/11/pale-moons-archive-server-hacked-and-used-to-spread-malware/
  10. @VistaLoverwould you happen to be Vistaar over at the DM Vista Forums?
  11. Finally! Some updates for those of us that prefer portables. Version 77.0.196.0 is now available https://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/346189-all-the-latest-microsoft-chromium-edge-installers-for-windows/
  12. There was an updated version of the Classic Theme hack that makes IE 11 (or 10) and Control Panel work EDIT: Here ya go:
  13. I am using Edge on Android. On that platform, I really like it, but on the desktop, I want more customization.
  14. Well this morning, I have ads back
  15. Well xper fixed whatever it was, so thankfully I didn't need to try any of that. But thanks for the suggestions
  16. Oh Yeah! Thanks Xper....lol. So it was an actual issue then?
  17. I'm running Firefox ESR 60, so I don't "think" my release has the built in trackers. I tried Microsoft Edge Chromium and ads are also disabled. Plus I notice the ad placeholder is gone - uBlock Origin is disabled on both Edge and Firefox Quantum. I made another thread about the shrinking width of the MSFN web page as well. It used to occupy the full width of my large Samsung monitor, but now has thick margins. It runs wider on my Surface RT tablet, but there still are margins.
  18. Hey Guys, I have a Samsung SyncMaster 213T screen which is nearly 22" in size. The nice thing about is, is that I can view a page in a wide mode (just like a widescreen), but also have a lot more vertical real estate (since it's a 4x3 screen) MSFN used to take up the entire width of the page, but now the margins on the left and right are nearly an inch thick. So now, it appears like it would on a smaller 4x3 monitor? Any takers? Thanks for the help.
  19. Wow! Nothing eh? This must've been a hard one
  20. All has been quiet on the nSane forums (regarding Edge Canary Portable) since I last posted. I fear that I'm losing interest, especially now the rumour is that Google Chrome will use Manifest v3 to restrict the effectiveness of Ad-Blocking software.
  21. Comodo was working last time I used it. The upgrade to v11 seemed to slow it down a bit. Edit: There are three XP stations I currently have on the bench for friends. In each case, I've removed MSE, and just opted for Malwarebytes v1.75 (with current definitions)
  22. Yeah I just checked to make sure my uBlock Origin is turned off - it is for this site.
  23. @erpdude8 Ouch! Sorry that happened to you. As of right now, I'm only installing the IE10 and Flash updates. My security-only updates stop at November 2017, but that will change at the end of the year. I figure when I update to the next Firefox ESR (or whichever browser I move to), I will also install all of the security-only updates since then (except for the Spectre and Meltdown ones from a year ago).
  24. I know this sounds picky, but in Windows 7 and Windows 8x, how do I restore the "proper" Documents icon? By proper, I mean the one that actually shows the Location tab in the Properties menu. I have it as a shortcut, but I want the actual icon on the desktop. Thanks folks EDIT: Basically, I want to open this below as a desktop shortcut - BUT I want to right-click on it and see the "Location" tab in there too. shell:UsersFilesFolder\Documents
