  3. If you read the very 1st post, that is what he is trying to do. Once he's done with that, he could as well install SP3 in the running VM. No need for nLite here. As additional info to the OP, you don't need AHCI drivers for the host hardware in a virtual machine. The VM has its own virtual hardware and all drivers that come with it. AAMOF I have read the entire thread...this one as well ...my instrux were not specifically directed to the OP only but to the OP, MSFN community & GP at large
  4. You could also install SP2 as guest in a Virtual Machine (I prefer VMWare player, YMMV ) , install nLite & DotNet 2 (minimum requirement for nLite) & do all your "work" there... after you slipstream SP3 test the new ISO created by nLite in another VM...if/when all is good with the "clean" SP3 I highly recommend you use "X's" Download all Windows XP Post SP3 Updates / Hotfixes for nLite UDC script to download & then slipstream all post SP3 Updates into your CLEAN SP3 source, test again in another VM install & finally create your fully updated installation media be it CD, USB... whatever.
  5. What you saw/heard is Windows' "Ease of Access" feature, completely legit.
  6. It says "These are the high-priority updates that install or appear on a stock, fresh install of Windows XP SP3 when visiting Windows Update. "
  7. Add microsoft.com under compatibility view settings and then you'll get the correct page. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/68fc8092-8480-4c10-ba53-f1a2d23654b2/ie-11-blocks-access-to-microsoft-update-service?forum=ieitprocurrentver
  8. TYVM for this, I added the new "Bing Bar" update & also the following to a fresh install in a VM using this to slipstream post SP1 updates...all worked a charm, had only 5 updates to install. The additional updates: Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2506928) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2574819) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2592687) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2647753) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2660075) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2709630) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2719857) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2726535) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2732059) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2761217) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2773072) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2786081) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2786400) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2813956) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2830477) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2846960) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2853952) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2882822) Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2893519)
  9. If you want to slipstream DotNet Framework using nLite go here or here and select the version(s) you'd like to include in your slipstreamed XP media. Personally, I include the OnePiece Microsoft.NET Framework v2.0.50727.3654.1 True AddOn ENU from RyanVM.net Edit to add: Sorry, I see Kelsenellenelvian has already provided this info.

This tweak that you choosed to activate may be the cause (I don't speak italian) "Avvio & Arresto-Ctrl-Alt-Canc all'avvio-Abilita" Translates to "Start & Stop-Ctrl-Alt-Canc (Del?) Enable startup" Don't know what that means...

Wrong file that's Last Session_u.ini. Also you need to attach & not copy/paste last session.ini.
  12. Thanks for the heads-up but what you're suggesting seems a bit beyond my noobish experience & capabilities. The method I used works fine for me. Regards, Pink
  13. ^^^This. I did this with a Gateway factory OEM laptop & got a perfect Windows 7 install, activate by phone using Key from COA.
  14. Yep, I am older than dirt, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now ... Luca Brasi's demise...I like Dylan's version best B) Regards, Pink.
  15. Why? Dunno. Last INI would be helpful tho. How many times can a man turn his head pretending he just doesn't see ?
