  1. You need to update these 2 sections... 03 – Download the following to folder "XPUPDATE\IE8" * IE8-WindowsXP-KB2761465-x86-ENU.exe * IE8-WindowsXP-KB2510531-x86-ENU.exe * IE8-WindowsXP-KB2797052-x86-ENU.exe 10 – MOVE (Cut) the following IE6 Updates TO (Paste) Folder "XPUPDATE\DONOTUSE" * WindowsXP-KB2510581-x86-ENU.exe * WindowsXP-KB2761465-x86-ENU.exe * WindowsXP-KB2797052-x86-ENU.exe Feb changelog: - WindowsXP-KB2761465-x86-ENU.exe and WindowsXP-KB2799329-x86-ENU.exe replaced by WindowsXP-KB2792100-x86-ENU.exe
  2. Not even Tour? Do you at least turn Oobe off? You're welcome btw.
  3. Tested 3 times once on "live" system twice on VM's--last test was with a "fresh" download . KB955759 downloaded via X's UDC batch file & integrated w/nLite. All 3 times WU offered KB955759, was installed "successfully" & subsequently re-offered via WU. Tried manual install, again "successful" & re-offered... tried the M$ Fixit described in KB954157, same result. Finally hid the update to resolve. This update was never a problem before and I'm wondering if there's some file conflict with any of the February patches... researching such conflicts is way beyond my limited capabilities but I am willing to do any required "leg work" if anyone has a suggestion. Attd Last INI and KB955759 install log. Edit: Attachments removed Side note to "X": Hyperlink to WindowsXP-KB2778344-x86-ENU.exe (Feb changelog) on your XP Post SP3 High-Priority Updates page actually links to KB2779030, the superseded update it replaces. Edit to add: Found my answer...maybe This MSFN thread led me to this thread @RyanVM forum: 2nd edit: Unchecking (keeping) Application Compatibility patch resolves the issue. I hope this info is useful to anyone who may encounter the same problem & stumble across this post.

  5. FWIW, this worked for me... http://www.prime-expert.com/flashboot/ FlashBoot is a tool to make USB storage devices bootable. FlashBoot supports USB thumbdrives and USB HDDs. FlashBoot partitions, formats USB storage device and then automatically installs operating system files to it. Supported operating systems: Windows 7/Vista, Windows XP, SysLinux-based disks, GRUB4DOS disks, Linux kernel etc.

  7. Yeah, I just saw that.. I just...forgot Thanks to all.
  8. Using WMP11 Slipstreamer i recall reading those 5 needed to be added ... Tested in VMWare (today) & "live" system (2 weeks ago)---WMP 11 works fine & all patches up to date.
  9. Thank you Ponch, it turns out disabling MSE did the trick Strange that it happened this time but not before with MSE enabled
  10. CabLib Extract ERROR while...Failure to write to target Error while extracting file MSHDC.INF ??? Don't have a clue. I've never seen this error before.
  11. Possible cause: Windows XP only remembers 400 folders by default. You can increase this to 8000 by adding this reg hack from Kelly's Korner to the registry. All tested and working. Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000 (line 2)
  12. Has nothing to do with nLite or anything you removed IMHO. Your Last INI doesn't do anything your folder "view" settings Explorer-Disable Prefix: Shortcut to Explorer-Disable shortcut arrow Explorer-Show the full path in the Address Bar Explorer-Show the full path in the Title Bar For example, "explorer" tweaks I used in my last nLite build: Explorer-Associate additional file types with Notepad Explorer-Change Windows Explorer folder view-Icons Explorer-Disable Autorun Explorer-Disable Prefix: Shortcut to Explorer-Disable shortcut arrow Explorer-Disable Web Files and Folders connection Explorer-Display the contents of system folders Explorer-Preset Places Bar to-Desktop, My Computer, My Network Places, C:, D: Explorer-Show Drive Letters in front of Drive Names Explorer-Show extensions of known file-types Explorer-Show hidden files and folders Explorer-Show protected operating system files Explorer-Show the full path in the Address Bar Explorer-Use small icons in Explorer bar
  13. First idea that comes to mind
  14. I only use extreme slimming like the one above for use in VM, much different than "live" XP. I'm really not that technically proficient (above average user) to diagnose effect (good/bad/faster/slower/broken components...etc) of such slimmed versions. I know it runs fine for me in VM, (test software, run apps incompatible with Win 7, etc) I create a new CD every 4-6 months...mostly because I have a lot of free time & as an educational tool.
  15. >>>I would like to ask you ,'PinkFreud' what is size of your final integrated cd/dvd ?<<< I haven't burned a CD yet but original "clean" SP3 source was 591 MB, final nLited ISO is 319 MB.
  16. Please explain in more detail what EXACTLY the Faker cab does/doesn't do when you have the time. Thanks & much gratitude, "Pink"
