  1. Using what you've said, I've put this in order from first to last in my winnt.sif: Drivers\intel_chipset; Drivers\logitech_key; (keyboard) Drivers\logitech_mouse; Drivers\catalyst3_7\2KXP_INF; Drivers\tv_out\WDM_XP; Drivers\mitsubishi_monitor; Drivers\onboard_gigabit
  2. Is it safe for OemPnPDriversPath to be installing the Intel chipset drivers, even though we don't know which order Setup is installing our updated drivers in?
  3. Just heard from a source that the process to add your own hacked files into a compressed cab file (EX_, DL_ and such) and getting past the digital signature protection can be done using the CAB SDK from Microsoft. More info soon! Edit: hmm, the only page I could find: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default..../html/cabdl.asp I'll be surprised if an app from 1997 works for creating CAB files for XP
  4. On a unrelated note, is it possible you could send me any *.sif, *.ini or text-type files that are in the $OEM$ folders? I would be interested to see how Dell code their unattended installs.
  5. oops, made a mistake there!
  6. I can confirm that its safe to delete the LANG folder for British users Having checked the Regional Settings via control panel, everything seems to be in order, with United Kingdom chosen in every option.
  7. DefaultThemesOff = no in your winnt.sif is causing Windows to use the Classic Theme by default. However, you should download and install a visual style from www.themexp.org to test if the uxtheme.dl_ hack was successful.
  8. I'd stick to method 1 if I were you
  9. Custom built my P4 3 weeks ago. Next PC could be an Intel Prescott with PCI Express and the next version of SATA
  10. or an Microsoft SUS Server (a local Windows Update)
  11. yep, if they have an msi file
  12. Thanks for the compliment, we at MSFN are very pleased with the quick growth in members over the past few months. Thanks everyone!

  15. Either MS were a bit slow, MDAC 8 was released before the hotfix was released (16 days apart) but it seems to be ok to install according to its version number. Here's the links: MDAC 2.8 MS03-033 Patch for MDAC 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7
  16. You can use the Unattended XP CD Guide for this, using the win2ksp4 deploy tool's Setup Manager. Although, good luck with trying IE6SP1 and DX9, I think one of these caused bad errors when I tested it once.
  17. How did you get net framework to install during GUI-mode Windows Setup via cmdlines.txt, since the Windows Installer service isn't enabled yet?
  18. Some of the tutorials inbuilt in the program, dreamweaver mx for example are pretty good.
  19. Don't know really, I got my hands on Kerio Personal Firewall 4.0.2 which was announced on fileforum.com, and isn't in Beta status according to the about window. Kerio probably decided not to release it. I never did like it that much anyway, it wouldn't allow me to remote desktop to another PC that had kerio 4.0.2 installed and wouldn't even popup the windown asking to allow access. It crashed a few times too.

Yep, here's the link: http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/files/empty_xp_isos.zip If it doesn't work, you can always try out the alternative I suggested, very clean way of doing it
  21. Seems to be a missing 404 link b0r3d, I'll see if I can get my hands on a php script that will allow you to upload to a specific directory on the MSFN FTP
  22. Install mIRC normally and then use XCOPY to copy over the directory. Or put them into an SFX Archive using WinRAR.
  23. Some people use an SFX archive to extract the favourites silently. Or the %USERPROFILE%\Favorites using XCOPY like the others have suggested.
  24. Yes, add the .exe to the end. In a test I ran, without the .exe on the end of shutdown the batch would often loop over and over again. I know, its strange.
  25. We don't support warez, please don't ask for it on these forums.
