  1. Ok, the ERD comes as psp8.exe and this is extractable. Instead of running the switch on Setup.exe, use this instead: "Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.msi" /QB
  2. Without the August cumulative update, a serious hole can be exploited in IE: http://www.phaez.net/test/ Warning: Unpatched systems will be rebooted by the script executed to show how serious this flaw is.
  3. I think all previous directx versions have been removed because of a recent security exploit that was discovered. Only a patch for DirectX 9.0a or installing DirectX 9.0b will fix this.
  4. The VB6 Runtimes (or .NET Framework 1.1?) needs to be installed before you try to install SpywareBlaster. This could be a slight problem, because the VB6 Runtimes or .net framework needs to reboot before it can function.
  5. I've just tried that out and it works fine. What version did you use this switch on? (Trial, ERD, CD) For your information, my test was done on the PSP8 CD version.
  6. In what way does it not install correctly? Missing file, invalid switch, bad file? We need more information to be able to help.
  7. I think I remember WinCDMan removed all the other languages, I will have to try it again when I have time and run a comparision with the original ISO to see what was taken out.
  8. Use the serial that came bundled with the burner. It should work for 5.5.10.50 but not for 6.0 (because that requires a paid upgrade) edit: devil beat me to it!
  9. This is because the purpose of the $OEM$ and sub folders is that they get copied over to the hard disk during text-mode Windows XP setup. For example, everything in $1 will be copied to C:\ and anything in $$ will be copied to C:\Windows, there are more different types that can be used to instruct setup where it should copy files to. Unless you prefer to delete them manually? These files were copied over (as mentioned earlier) and has already been used to install your extras, so you no longer need them left on your hard drive.
  10. Have you considered emailing the Office team at Microsoft to ask if its possible to do a custom install with your version of Office? Give them the full name of what its called (Enterprise / Small Business Version etc), version number and the name of the msi file.
  11. It was the UnattendSwitch="Yes" that stopped the Welcome to Windows XP screen asking if you had an active internet connection (if you wanted to know)
  12. Registration data is stored in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\mIRC\License and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\mIRC\UserName
  13. Yes, or you can integrate them into Windows XP Setup here (Tested and works fine) Not the INF file directly, but the folder containing the INF files. I've extracted my VIA drivers, and can see that the INFs are in several different folders. For XP, I would assume the following folders: \WinXP \IDEWinXP \Inf\Winxp And, possibly the \AGP folder, but I think the \WinXP folder already provides the AGP INF file, but to be on the safe side, include it in your OemPnPDriversPath= anyway.
  14. It's good they changed the way it scans, much faster now
  15. Try another theme, some themes are dodgy that way and refuse to load in the Appearances tab.
  16. Intel stresses that the Intel Chipset Software Utility is installed before any other driver is installed. So instead of running an silent installation using Installshield, you can install them during GUI-mode Setup. Run infinst_enu.exe with these switches: -A -A -P C:\Intel\ infinst_enu.exe -A -A -P C:\Intel\ Run setup as normal. It won't install the drivers, it just copies the INF and CAT files to C:\Intel\ Note: You are probably wondering why this method is used instead of extracting infinst_enu.exe with WinRAR. This is because only the CAT files are extracted, and are very much useless without the INF files. Using the method above will provide you with the INF files. Have a look at the contents of C:\Intel\ What you need to do is merge all the files in the XP directories from each ICH directory into one folder. Most files are identical in name and size so you will be prompted to overwrite quite often. When finished, it should look something like this: Dump this folder into your Drivers folder and name your folder something like Intel_INF Add to your winnt.sif file: OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\intel_INF" If you already have a OemPnPDriversPath, remove the quotation mark, add a semi-colon at the end, then paste Drivers\intel_INF ending with a quotation mark.
  17. Here's a few from the top of my head! http://www.Overclockers.co.uk http://www.Komplett.co.uk http://www.scan.co.uk http://www.ebuyer.co.uk
  18. Also, check if you have OEMPreInstall=Yes listed in winnt.sif
  19. Did you extract infinst_enu.exe? Then run the -R switch on Setup.exe (in the extracted directory) to create a setup.iss file.
  20. That won't happen. Windows Setup will choose the best driver matching the hardware to install.
  21. Office1.cab is usually attributed to be Hidden. Check that its on the CD (enabling 'show hidden files and folders' beforehand). If not, then it appears Office1.cab was left out when you (or someone else) burned it to CD.
