Did you download the empty ISO files from the site? It's already bootable. What you did by loading a boot.bin into an already bootable ISO image probably messed it up. Another alternative is to make an ISO of your original Windows XP CD and delete all the files in the ISO image and put in your own modified copy in there, it will remain bootable
  3. Create the ISS file before you run it unattended. When you create the ISS file you can manually put in registration information then it will be fully unattended, in theory.
  4. You gotta be kidding me? I couldn't help but post this, its funny Windaz 2000 for Austrailians (please don't view if you are under 18 or offended by profanity)
  5. It's different in the UK, words like Organisation and Capitalisation is right in the UK, but in the states, they swap the 's' for a 'z'
  6. From what I've read/heard, 32 bits apps will run twice as fast on a Athlon64 as they actually do on a 32 bits CPU. So what you saying is that a 3.0GHz 64-bit processor would equal a 6.0Ghz 32-bit processor when running a 32-bit Games and such?
  7. bench your 2mb cache hard drive speed with a copy of HD_Speed.exe on normal and burst rate mode, and post the results. I'll compare my two western digital 8mb cache drive results with yours.
  8. agh I'm blind! Anyway, a spelling mistake I spotted: Componants = Components For TapiLocation, you might want to show them a full list of country code numbers (in a html file). I think I remember seeing a Paypal's signup page had a link to one of them that you could use. Some of the text might need to be realigned in every tabbed section. Some of the letters like y and g seem to disappear partly from the bottom.
  9. Users might like the AutoActivate bit for winnt.sif, this will auto activate windows, as long as an always-on connection is present. More info is in ref.chm
  10. CPU at 3.21GHz: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1277007 I noticed your mem clock is at 375MHz, did you overclocked to that speed? As the mem clock came as default 338Mhz on my hercules radeon card. Some guy who did a review on all four different radeons said the Hercules is capable of running the mem clock at 730MHz, but the Hercules 3D Tweaker doesn't go that high, he's probably misunderstood. Here's the quote: Edit: Here's the new project info for the 3.4GHz - http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1277201
  11. Since yesterday its been stable on 3.4GHz (just as XPerties predicted ), it won't go any higher than that, but I'm happy with it since I never intended to overclock in the first place when I built the PC.
  12. Spheris, can you give me the exact command line syntax for Windows XP which will keep filename uppercasing/lowercasing as it is? No offence, but I don't really understand some of your replies, some of us are not full-blown techies.
  13. Yup, setting Yes will instruct setup that there are files/folders in the $OEM$ directory that needs to be copied over to the hard disk.
  14. Anyway, my main gripe with CDImage forcing everything uppercase is that the shortcuts I copy over to my start menu unattendly turn out to be uppercase. But I'm sure making an SFX archive will sort that out as the filenames are left intact in the archive.
  15. As it says on the winnt.sif page on the Unattended XP CD Guide, you must add a OemPreinstall=Yes to the [unattended] section
  16. Here's the one I use for Windows XP Pro: C:\CDIMAGE.EXE -lWXPFPP_EN -bC:\xpboot.img -t08/26/2001,02:56:00 -d -h -n -m -o C:\XPCD C:\WXPFPP_EN.ISO -d is "don't force lowercase filenames to uppercase"
  17. Spheris, do you know why when I create an ISO with Microsoft's CDImage app, using a switch to force it not to change all files/folders to uppercase will cause a file not found error on Windows XP Setup (the file is usbshci.dll or something similar)
  18. Should be the same as diskeeper 7. Extract the diskeeper 8 exe file, and inside you will find setup.exe. Run this with /s /v/qn
  19. I haven't tried it yet, but I think the ins file needs to be in a specific location.
  20. Yeah that's right, but your upload should be around 50-60KB/sec for a service that's capable of 512kbps up. You might need to call/email your ISP
  21. He's using Setup Manager from the Windows XP Deployment Tools. More information on that can be found here: http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/gettingstarted.htm
  22. hmm. The theme service is enabled by default. Check your registry tweaks file to see if you added a theme service disable key by accident, or you probably used a DefaultThemesOff = Yes in the [shell] section in winnt.sif
  23. The best way to find out about new hotfix releases is to keep an eye on the MSFN frontpage every wednesday evening (in your timezone) as Wednesday is Microsoft Patch Day.
  24. There's a hotfix update for .Net Framework 1.1?
