  1. Someone would need to contribute it as there are no master ULs made for Windows 2000 Server at the moment.
  2. Oops. Sorry. You gotta admit... LLXX isn't very gender specific. Hard to tell that you are a woman.
  3. Can a moderator please delete this thread. Double posting: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88246 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88247
  4. They are SATA. I slipstream the drivers with nLite when I reformat. Well unless nVidia's BIOS is special, you should be able to have the same effect by reordering the drives that you get changing the cables around.
  5. Something that has yet to be established. Are your drives IDE or SATA?
  6. I'll get straight to the point. There's been a lot of arguing, bickering, fighting and general grumpyness on MSFN lately. I'm just as responsible for this as everyone else is. I'm not a moderator and I have no power over any one you, which is why I would like to hope that you would take what I say with some consideration. We're all stressed, we all work too much or spend too much time at school, christmas is coming, money's tight... we're all familiar with the story. I think we can agree however that we're all here for the same reasons. Because we enjoy the MSFN community, we enjoy computers, software and the whole plethora of electronic coolness, some of us are amateurs, some of us are experts, but we're all here for fun. I think some of us have forgotten that on the Internet there is no tone of voice. Not to mention that for a large portion of our users, English is not their first language. So there is bound to be some misunderstandings. There is one single rule that I've applied to my entire life... never assume. Because assuming makes an a$$ out of you and me. ( For those who don't get it, ASSUME -> A$$ = U + ME). We understand what we're talking about when we're posting, but the other person may not. For those of you who are new to this forum, please make sure you take the time to read the forum rules. This will avoid frustration for everyone. If you're unsure if something already been discussed, then try doing a search first. If you don't find anything but think it could have been discussed before then simply make a statement in your post saying that you tried searching for a thread that discussed the same topic but couldn't find one. If you have a question, try to provide as much information as possible. The more we know, the more we can help you. Do NOT post large copy and pastes, instead, paste them in Notepad and include them in your post as an attachment. Do NOT create two threads for the same topic, a LOT of us regular members check almost all posts in all forums, we WILL see your post. The moment one of us who sees your post has something to contribute, we will. Posting twice simply makes us not want to help. Oh and don't forget, if you write "need help" as your thread title, no one's going to read it. If you write what you need help with, you'll get a ton more responses. Something as simple as "Windows won't boot" is enough for people to want to read and help when they can. If you're going to help someone, make suggestions or a one of the general experts floating around MSFN, please try to understand that not all members are as educated or skilled as some of us are. A lot of members come to MSFN for help because they know that there's so many people that are skilled enough to help them here. Disagreeing with what people say or think is okay, just saying so is sufficient though. There is no need to rip people's head off because they don't agree with you. If everyone always had the same opinion, there would never be any discussion. Most important of all, let's try to relax, take a nice deep breath and just remember that we're here to enjoy ourselves and enjoy our discussions here at MSFN. Merry Christmas to all (even those who don't believe in Christmas).
  7. It's not a localized DLL, it's a registry entry. Something like HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell, though in this case, I'm not sure which entry is responsible.
  8. This has been a standard "read before posting" link on at least 12 of the forums I frequent. What the $#$%? The OP was asking for it and I replied with the answer. Why are you giving me static over answering the OP's question? Woah put down your spikes. He wasn't giving you flack. He was just mentioning that he's seen the flash on 12 of the forums he frequents. Those 12 forums make it a point to tell their users to "read before posting" with that flash. It was a comment on his part, nothing more.
  9. Go into My Computer, right-click on your hard drive, choose properties and click on Disk Cleanup.
  10. I wish I could stab you over the internet. DO NOT DOUBLE POST. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88110 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88111
  11. Saving an empty text file in notepad will produce a zero byte file which you can rename to whatever filename you'd like.
  12. The drive AND the controller must both support NCQ. So unless your SATA controller has NCQ in it's specifications, you're out of luck.
  13. You can use AutoGK to convert to AVI after.
  14. Make sure that those two files found in I386 on your XP source get copied over to WINDOWS\SYSTEM32.
  15. My raptors are connected to my motherboard's Intel ICH7R RAID controller. It does support SATA II but raptors are SATA I with NCQ.
  16. My throughput for my raptors in RAID 0 is 140MB/sec...
  17. Glad I could help you resolve the issue.
  18. Well even the best companies have bad bouts. I tried installing a brand new Antec SP-350 power supply in one of my client's computer's last night. It was DOA. Never turned on. I had to RMA it back to my supplier. First time it's happened in the hundred or so I've installed. I have two 74GB raptors, they're fast as hell, but man they're noisy. It's the only thing I can hear in my computer as everything else is silent.
  19. You got burned because you bought the 2MB version. Always always steer clear of 2MB hard drives. It's their "value" line of hard drives, which makes them comparable to Maxtors. 8MB/16MB hard drives are problem free and the RE/RE2 drives are unkilleable.
  20. I dislike Seagate hard drive for their noise levels. Don't get me wrong, they're good hard drive, high quality and impressive performance at times. But the noise levels are higher and the real world difference between a WD 320 and a Seagate 320 are marginal.
  21. NTFS is IMHO a better file system then FAT32. FAT32 is a little antiquitated and is not suitable for today's large hard drives. Also, SATA hard drives are much much better then standard IDE drives any day. But like most things in life, it all has to do with how well you know your technologies.
  22. Western Digital 320GB are the sweet spot between size/price right now.
  23. Next time do NOT create a duplicate thread, instead, PM a mod and ask them to move the thread into the proper forum. It will avoid a lot of frustration for everyone.
  24. I vote high density, high speed hard drive. It will change your computer from night to day.
  25. You people that create identical threads deserve to get banned. Although I have no power to decide this as I am simply a user... could a moderator please merge these two threads? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=87998 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=87999
