MS GDI+ Detection Tool Alert
JuMz replied to PlayWithFire's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
From my understanding, yes. I believe that is why it says "Halt Box" and "instead use this" but hopefully someone else will reply to this thread to confirm this! -
MS GDI+ Detection Tool Alert
JuMz replied to PlayWithFire's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
During the install i get the following message Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool The software tool did not detect any Microsoft Office, Microsoft Picture It, or Microsoft .Net Framework software on your computer that is vulnerable to the GDI+ Graphics Component Security vulnerability. What is the correct way to install that hotfix? And again, sorry if this has been asked, but the search yields nothing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The thread is indicating that you add the " REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool" /v "GDITool" /t REG_DWORD /d "00000001" /f" in the RunOnceEX after GUI part of the XP Setup. -

Like i said in my first post, I have checked every box that says the above. C'mon guys, that was the obvious thing I checked!
-
So how do I fix this?
-
The steps you have taken to solve this problem are correct! It, under normal circumstances, should have worked. You can try sending the Doc to someone here (me included) and we can attempt to re-save it as a word document and sending it back. Also, what version of office are they using and what version of works are you using?

Question about the driver packs and using Bart PE
JuMz replied to andyd's topic in The General Stuff
you can use the BTS DP's in WinPE / BartPE? No way! I have been looking for this for a while! -
This is the exact definition of a sysprep setup with a reseal switch. What I would do, is look up how to deploy XP using sysprep.

and: can't use /integrate... every other listed update uses /q /n /z switches, and i believe that they are all compatible with /integrate. Check that post out <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Woah dude, I don't know how I missed that! Wow, I guess 99% of them support the /integrate method! awesome!
-
No, I think there's only one or two, but I don't remember which ones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ****, I would like to know which ones...I would use Ryan VM's but i have had major issues with it so I have decided to integrate them myself...If anyone knows of the exceptions, please let me know either by posting here or PM'ing me. Thanks

When it kicks the 6800 is where the games are at lower resolution and not as memory instensive and without AA ASF. Where the 6800 starts to differentiate itself is when the resolution is higher and AA & ASF are enabled.

The charts really help alot. The reason I say the 9600xt doesn't compare is because its an older series of cards, based on a different GPU core than the x700, 800 etc. The 9600xt was more in the line of the 9700, 9800 etc. The x700 has a newer GPU, and have a lil more advanced architecture and technology built into it (because it is newer). If you look at the rest of tomshardware VGA charts, you will find a chart that has the 9600xt in it. You can decide for yourself. http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/2..._charts-14.html
-
My opinion, 9600xt completely out of the question in comparison to the other cards. According to these charts (and because I am an ATI fan) I would go with the X700. Check out this website http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/2..._charts-02.html

This is not really related to the problem you have but you MAY face it once you get past this whole bios stage. (And yes, Flashing your CMOS will most likely fix the problem i believe). If you have your old CPU, this should fix the problem http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Article...=read&arc_id=36 Let us know how it goes.

Confirmed.

Hey all, Let me give you my network Architecture before I go into detail about my problem I have a Linksys WRT54G router with VPN pass through enabled etc etc. The router has 2 PC's (A and B) connected via CAT5 and 2 other clients connect VIA wirless (C and D). I am using XP's built in VPN feature (setup through creating an advanced connection etc etc). This feature has been setup on PC A. My understanding is that PC A will have to assign the IP to the VPN client, so I have unchecked "assign ip automatically" and manully assigned it within the range of the rest of my PC's on my network (assigned from 192.168.1.110 to 115 for a total of 6 clients, btw, no other clients have Ips with this range). on PC A (the one hosting the VPN) , i have check boxed every box that says allow clients to access network etc etc. Ok, so here is the problem. When I VPN into PC A from my work computer (and any other computer for that matteR), I get connected, everything goes ok, I can map a drive to PC A, ping it, share files, functions perfectly normal. HOWEVER, I cannot ping, map drive , or do anything with regards to PC B, C , and D. It's like they simply don't exist. Why Am I not able to see the other PC's on my network? (none of these have windows firewall etc etc enabled, and i can perfectly map to them / ping them if i was physically sittong on PC A). Someone told me this may be an issue with my router and IP forwarding...I am not exactly sure what this means or how to fix it...
