  1. Ok what gives? I did that and FF doesn't install! Am I missing something? I got "Firefox Setup 1.5.0.3.exe" directly from the mozilla.com site, put it into my $oem$ and added this to my runonceex.cmd REG ADD %KEY%\005 /VE /D "FireFox 1.5" /f REG ADD %KEY%\005 /V 1 /D "%PP%Firefox Setup 1.5.0.3.exe -ms" /f You have spaces in your path. This is going to cause problems. You have to follow a special set of characters to accomplish this (has to do with slashes). You can find the complete solution here: Applications that use Quotation Marks
  2. Anyone? If it helps, I am using an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard with newest BIOS from Asus (1023 I believe) and the onboard AC97 audio connected to my receiever using Digital Out (coaxial). I just want to add that I am almost sure its not a hardware problem as everything works fine for any other media type EXCEPT quicktime files...
  3. I saw this on digg. According to the comments I read, there is a serious lack of seeders. Please help seed if you successfully download this.
  4. I used the quicktime alternative codec packs as mentioned above, however, I receieve no audio when the movie plays in MCE. Any Ideas?
  5. Hey guys, I followed the directions in the AVS Forums FAQ to get Quicktime movies to play in MCE. The Video plays fine, however, I have no audio. Everything else works fine (DIVX, XVID, VOB's, DVD's, etc), except audio in quicktime movies (I also do not hear anything when I play the file in WMP outside of MCE). I am using SPDIF out and I don't see any options in the quicktime alternative settings to enable SPDIF out....Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance guys.
  6. Thank you very much. That post was very helpfull. I'll post back if I am still having problems, otherwise, this is the solution! Thanks guys.
  7. I am in the same boat as you bud. I want the keyboard, but don't have the IR receiever and the keyboard doesn't come with it. I am looking for just the receiever but my only option has been ebay...which sell for the same price as the remote / IR combo...so yeah...no luck...
  8. Hi Guys I have a whole bunch of music videos that are in VOB format. How do I get MCE to recognize to play them? Now before you guys start replying about VIDEO_TS folders etc, that is not the issue. I am just talking about playing ordinary VOB files ( I already know how to play dvd's from my HD, so please don't reply regarding that issue). To give a clearer understand, here are some of the file names: Jennifer Lopez - Ain't It Funny (remix featuring Ja Rule).NTSC.DVD.vob chingy_-_right_thurr_(remix)_(ft._trina_and_jermaine_dupri)_(explicit)_(lpcm-promo-ntsc-#vob-hq).vob These play fine on my computer that has power DVD installed. I am also having the same issues with music videos in MP4 and M2V format. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.
  9. Have you tried using the [DiskConfig] Section in your winbom.ini? WinPE has the built in ability to wipe the disk... [DiskConfig] Disk1 = First.Config [First.Config] Size1 = * FileSystem1 = NTFS SetActive1 = Yes PartitionType1 = Primary Size2 = * PartitionType2 = Extended Size3 = * PartitionType3 = Logical QuickFormat1 = Yes ForceFormat = Yes This is what I use to configure the disk. Completely formats it and makes one big drive. All the information I used to do this is in the winpe.chm file...
  10. Hey guys! Just posting back with an update: It worked! Media Centre installed fine using the /makelocalsource:all switch! Just to verify something i found odd, in start menu, programs, accessories, media center, mediacenter programs....is it supposed to be empty?
  11. :all eh? never heard of that. I will be giving this a shot ASAP and will post back...but its wierd because, in the root of my C: drive of the test machine, the CMPNENTS folder is there, right beside the I386 Folder (due to the OPK license agreement, these folders must copy over, though I do have control over where they can go, if i choose) so it does copy over, but the install doesn't use it (or perhaps it gets copied over after)? I have even tried putting the CMPNENTS in the $OEM$/$ directory with no luck, i'll give this a shot though.... **EDIT: I just realized something that didn't occur to me when I first wrote this reply. I have no control over switches. The WinPE Winbom.ini takes care of all that for me. I never physically execute the winnt32.exe. WinPE does that for me, my Winbom.ini tells WinPE where the share is with the appropriate user and password...All i see is a box that says "Installing Configuration Set"...so i guess your suggestion may work when I acutally map the drive and execute winnt32 from there...But that would defeat the point of my OPK kit. The whole beauty of this OPK is that everything depends on 1 file, the Winbom.ini. Right now, i have 3 seperate installs (XP PRO, XP HOME, and SERVER2K3 R2) and the appropriate installation directorys are located on my server. All i do, is change 3 words for in the Winbom.ini for each of the boot CD's I create and pow, the install goes through...
  12. Well, the user shouldn't know another users name and password??
  13. I am also looking for this solution (using a winnt32 network install using WinPE). I have not found a successful way for this as of yet. It works fine using guides on these forums using a the usual boot from CD install method, but nothing for winnt32 based installs...i have tried everything...still can't get it to work. From what I read, there is something extra needed for winnt32 based installs via WinPE as all the OEM's have a special OPK just for MCE ( I only have the OPK for XP/Server2003). So there are definatley some additional things I need to know / use if they came out with a seperate OPK just for MCE (I would have thought they would use the XP OPK since MCE is basically XP SP2, but they didn't do it like that). My install goes through, no prompts ETC, but no media center components are installed at the end (and strangely, no IE either...). I hope you find a solution and post back if you do. It is supposed to be beside it. I have tried both and (with both methods) edited the appropriate files in each case and i still have no luck.
  14. I know this happended to me when I was using a BETA of SP2 slipstreamed in my installation, but i don't think that is your problem (since it seems to work in VMware)...your problem is quite unique...If I think of anything else I'll post back...
  15. Yup, this is a known issue with that hotfix. Solution is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165
  16. Easiest VPN solution is to use Hamachi! http://www.hamachi.cc/ Absolutely Awesome.
  17. well then, you can just add yourself as part of the adminitrators group! right click on my computer, select manage, go to local users and groups ----> users find your user, and right click>properties at the tab at the top, select member of: click add, then type in Administrators, then click ok log off and log on and all should be good.
  18. does it need to run all the time? if so, look on google in turning it into a service that can start up automatically (or manually if you choose).
  19. This is a little more complicated then it looks. The general procedure would look something like: 1. First, enable networking in WinPE 2. EDIT the startnet.cmd to include maping a drive letter to the server share 3. Adding another line that would use the above drive and run ghost32 In what mode are you running WinPE right now? (i.e, what is the first line of your startnet.cmd?)
  20. You need to add this in the [GuiUnattended] part of the unattend file: AutoLogon = Yes AutoLogonCount=1 The count tells you how many times it will autologon for you.
  21. Actually, the answer is here: You must be using RyanVM's update packs. http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1653
  22. I had the same problem. This is due to Ryan VM's update packs (if you are using them). Solution is here: http://ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=21951#21951 Remove the syspart:c: , just leave tempdrive:c and it should work...
  23. If I am doing a Winnt32 based install (i.e. through WinPE or BartPE) do i also need to edit any specific entries in the dosnet.inf?
  24. you need to use modifype before you integrate it into your installation. here is the link: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/64/
