  1. Thank you for clarifying that.
  2. Ok, but from my understanding, using the method you mentioned above, the after textmode support is done VIA oempnpdrivers path in the winnt.sif. I ONLY want to use pyron's method for After textmode drivers (it allows for easy integration of driver pack update + additions, so I don't have to keep slimstreaming) and plus the drivers remain on DVD. ← Then there's something WRONG with your understanding Method 2 = Pyron's Method != OEMPnPDriversPath in wint.sif *only* Pyron's method *after* textmode setup? It's impossible to use Pyron's method DURING textmode setup, which leaves as only option... after textmode setup. If you still don't understand what it all exactly does, please contact me through MSN... ← Ok, I have just added you to msn. I thought with Pyron's method, drivers are unpacked from the dVD on to the HD, and then his setdevicepath.exe reads the infs in the directory, and tricks the GUI portion into looking there for the drivers? I thought it makes nO entries in the winnt.sif? I have been using this method all along from this sticky http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=12566 "Normally there is one way to integrate drivers in Windows 2k/xp/2k3. Specify oempnpdriverspath in winnt.sif / unattend.txt / ristndrd.sif / sysprep.inf or patch the resulting DevicePath Registry Value directly using SetDevicePath.exe by Pyron. The problem is there is a length limit of 4096 characters." I am using the setdevicepath.exe
  3. And if I am using an unattended install, can I just REPLACE the winnt.sif with my own? Because I am doing an Unattended DVD

  5. So this way, I will get mass storage driver support in textmode? K i will try. ← After reading this... I don't get it before, only after, but I want it before and after. I already have the after part covered, I just need the mass storage driver support BEFORE< DURING TEXTMODE...
  6. So this way, I will get mass storage driver support in textmode? K i will try.
  7. So is this method an alternate method than editing the .sif method? this seems a hell of a lot easier??? If I am understanding this correctly, all you have to do is add the drivers to these folders and you get driver support in textmode? Sounds too easy to be true... I remember seeing a topic like this before but cannot seem to find it, anyone have a link?
  8. Awesome, that was nice and quick. Thanks guys!
  9. I just downloaded the Vista beta 1 and was wondering if it is possible to DUAL boot Vista and my current XP operating system (obviously putting Vista on another parition, in my case, my E Drive) Thanks in Advance guys!
  10. I use the same, no problems here!
  11. I understand you can take BartPE further but you can take WinPE futher (i.e. add a GUI with a desktop and start menu etc) If so, how?
  12. NO no , my question is, does it actually go into some GUI interface at all? like a desktop with a starmenu or is it just the console screen and thaz it?
  13. K so i managed to get battlefield in window mode, but now when I palce it between the 2 monitors, MAJOR LAG! my computer basically locks up AND that is not even the way we are supposed to do it, it doesn't look like the picture with quake i linked to earlier...
  14. K sorry , that is what I meant. However, my understanding of method 2 is that when implementing the mass storage driver pack, it is only used AFTER the textportion of the setup, so I don't get mass storage driver support before that, which is what I need... So can it be done?
  15. I am using an unattended DVD with pyron's method combined with your method 2. This way , I can get the textmode drivers for mass storage and then the rest will be taken by the pyron / method 2. hence, i cannot delete the winnt.sif completly, probably just entries i have to delete...which entries specifically are they? all the ones under oempnpdrivers?

  20. This doesn't solve the activation issue.
  21. so wait a minute here, what are you trying to do? what are the purpose of these files and where do i put them / execute them from my winPE dvd?
  22. I download the PE.zip file and have absolutely no clue how to use it...All I need is to be able to edit the winnt.sif with the user input (such as name, organization, workgroup etc) and launch my winnt32. Can anyone help me.?
