never had to recover files off a CD... but my guess would be to run this tool: RiteRecovery i installed and ran it, looks like it can recover from CD's.. I don't have any CD-RW's to test it on though. hope this helps.

ok, well my friend pointed this out to me.. i found it quite hilarious... but then again.. simple things amuse simple minds. anyways... take this picture and set it as your desktop background tiled. (should have like 500 on your screen lol) seems to play too fast in the browser. then play this song.. http://www.menet.umn.edu/~gladkov/music/DK_Mos.wav no matter when you play the wav file it seems to go in sync.

R O F L! thats so my house when the internet goes down... i'll be sleeping and my dad will come in and wake me up tell me the internet is down and i instantly get up and fix it lolz.

haven't really had any real problems with WinXP. and i usually use reformats to fix the comp anyways lol. Sound not workin? plop my unattended winxp cd in go watch part of a movie, or go outside the house and do somethin. come back about 30-40 minutes later and bam.. theres my OS with all my favorite Apps, games, app settings, registry settings, services disabled, custom theme, and all hotfixes. (hope i didn't miss anything) lol. god i love you MSFN format sure beats fixin the computer. spend 3 hours to figure out some driver problem, or some random .dll file corrupted, or just reformat and it works again. I hated Luna at first, used Windows Classic for like 4 months after getting WinXP. then saw the Metallic color scheme, so used that for a month or two. then heard about UXTheme.dll, got mine patched and now i change my Visual Style practically every day. it's not to bad, once you get used to it.

the actual svchost.exe is a microsoft file, use Process Explorer to check and validate the svchost.exe is located in: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe if its in any other place then that, its more then likely a virus, in which case i would recomend getting Avast! Antivirus Which is completly free. and if that doesn't detect anything, download and run Hijackthis and post your log in the Malware Forum It wouldn't hurt to do a scan with Adaware SE 1.06 and clean out anything found in there before posting your hijackthis log in the Malware forum. hope this helps

/silent just guessed on that and it put a icon in the system tray and started installing. hover over to see the percentage. however, the Steam Updating Platform thing still pops up.. then shows the Login box.. some other member may know how to make it completly silent. or you may have to use taskkill to kill steam.exe. you can make a reg entry to have steam install somewhere else besides C:\Program Files\Steam. the Registry setting is at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam

VNC can be done over the internet, i used to do spyware removal on my ex-girlfriends computer thats in Florida USA, from California/Idaho USA. if she has a router, she has to open port 5900 in the router, TCP Protocol i believe. make sure she puts on a password to connect. and DO NOT put the box for "Require MSLogon" cause then you would have to have a username/password on her computer.

I have found a better way then going to safemode or "modifying" any system files... found this today bundled with the ubcd4win. *This is not spam* lol but has anyone here ever used IZArc as their primary Compression solution? I currently use the Windows Built-In Zip, Winrar, and 7zip.. but this prog says it can handle all of the above. I even made a Rar file, which i thought was impossible without winrar..

i just found UBCD4Win today. I checked on it and its pretty nice, based off Bart PE, but if you don't have time to install plugins or don't understand how then give this a shot. as for the ERD Commander, i put the plugins on my CD. and i think it would've been more obvious if you typed it as nERD Commander. it took me a second to get it lolz.

If i buy anything it would be parts to upgrade my PC. PC > Game Consoles. If i had to pick between those 3 i would go for the Xbox360, mainly in hopes of doing some Xbox modifications. even though i favor the Playstation over all game consoles. (god i miss the PSX days of playin ridge racer with the pretty crappy video quality)
