Synapse replied to Synapse's topic in Networks and the Internet
thanks for the suggestions i'll see what works. many thanks =) -
lol i use that for my Homepage. too bad it doesn't translate all the results to hax0r like the ebonics link i put up here about a week ago. *EDIT* w00t 777 posts! this is my lucky post!

LOL!! thats almost tempting to do in real-life.

lol. I especially like this one. Q: What was the first thing your husband said to you when he woke that morning? A: He said, "Where am I, Cathy?" Q: And why did that upset you? A: My name is Susan. I see me doing that in my future...

oobeinfo.ini place in I386 or OEM\system32 folder
Synapse replied to cumminbk's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
the guide says "Once you have finished editing the file, save it in $OEM$\$$\system32 and you're done." however... the correct place to put it is at: $OEM$\$$\system32\oobe i've looked into it and use it and it works perfect. -
not that hard to figure it out. then just look up the info.. example: http://www.ertyu.org/~steven_nikkel/ethernetcables.html i would advise people NOT to make this unless they know what they're doing and have a reason for one lol. I really dont' want to come on MSFN and find a post "so-and-so electrocuted himself making an etherkiller.

Holy crap thats sweet! if anyones giving these out for xmas send me a PM to get my address lol! one problem i see with it though, is how do you see the bottom part of the screen (where most games H.U.D for Health/Ammo etc.. is) you would have to sit up straight and no leaning back while playin.
-
LOL wish i had thought about that during network class. My friend and i used to play tug-a-war with the power cables.. 2 230+ pound guys playing tug a war = one ripped up power cable. lol

wow Prathapml, awesome find. I'll probably try getting a copy soon. if not try to get some of those programs in my bart PE cd.

http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=securit...buildertutorial is a very good tutorial for getting started with barts PE and getting some plugins. the Bart PE CD i'm making now has the Following: Bart PE (of course) and some of the plugins provided. Sherpya’s XPE (basically to get rid of the Barts PE GUI and make it look more like windows) *Must have XP SP2* Nu2XPE ShortCuts Converter Paraglider’s Runscanner (to be able to access the harddrive and files from programs such as ad-aware, spybot, etc...) Angry-IP-Scanner Mozilla Firefox Plugin winpcap library Show Traffic*needs the winpcap library* Adaware *from paragliders* Eraser Keyfinder-PE*to get the xp cd-key* Registry Editor PE v0.9c Windows Password Renew *if the user can't remeber their password* i had more on my old CD but can't remeber what they were. and yes its a bit tedious getting these to work, to download the filese needed, and make sure they're in the startmenu/desktop. but basically just follow the tutorial at the top, and you'll have a basic bart pe cd with XPE installed.then just add plugins you wish. google search for more. oh btw..for most of these plugins CAB = the plugin (use PEbuilder.exe to add them) Zip = the source code

I've always preferred Barts PE with custom plugins. also tried ERD Commander that my networking teacher had, was impressed with it but wouldn't pay for it.

ok, i ran my normal un-unattended (lol) windows XP cd last night and wrote down all the hotfixes that windows wanted to install... now for my question.. when i did this i got this in the internet explorer window for updates "816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM)" so i put it in my SVCHOST folder and my SVCHOST.INF and did another format with all hotfixes (default ones from the windows update) so today i noticed i forgot to get the qfecheck.exe tool. so got it and ran it.. yet it didn't see the "Q816093" update.. so i checked microsoft.com and it said "update for windows 2000" no where did it say windows XP.. so why did my computer want it from the windows update site with my un-unattended CD? if i check windows update now it only shows the Windows XP Service Pack 2 in the list.
-
yeap. i always notice it after i install VMWare cause VMWare hates the autorun feature.. but just reenable auto-run and it should go back to normal.

ok, I have a Windows Xp Home Server and would like to make individual share folders for everyone in my household. I know how to do this in Windows XP Pro (turn off simple file sharing) but i was wondering if there was a way to do this with Windows XP Home particularly without some extra program (such as FTP.. and so on..). Linux keeps looking better and better everyday, if it wasn't for the complex as hell commands and navigation i'd be using Linux on my server.

Help Making an Icon from a bigger Picture
Synapse replied to Synapse's topic in Graphics and Designing Art
thanks =) Top one is one i made last night. Middle is the one i have now. Bottom is the original Ventrilo Icon. i know.. mine isn't black around the headset.. but it works. -
i'll simplify this... Unattended Windows XP CD = Time Saver... and frankly imho Best thing since sliced bread. Put CD in drive, auto formats, auto installs windows, auto installs apps and your registry settings. come back in an hour after watching some football chuggin down some beer with all your favorite apps installed and waiting for you.
-
ok, i want to make an icon of the new ventrilo 2.3.0 guy but with Red glasses insted of blue... heres what i got. PNG Format Clicky The PSD (Photoshop) I've tried just making the image smaller and then making an ico out of it, but it looks kinda weird.

Happy Birthday Xper todays my birthday (21) as well.. to bad i'm not doing anything but making my Unattended XP Cd and browsing forums.. lol

Motherboard Name: TriGem Lomita Motherboard Chipset: Intel Whitney i810E The Computer Type: HP Pavilion 310n its just a crappy old comp. checked my dads comp and it has 2 sticks of PC133 at 128MB. so gonna either do 1 of 3 things. 1. remove the 64 meg ram (lose 64 mb but i probably won't notice it) 2. swap my 2.0 ghz comp with hit 800 mhz and just take the stick of 128MB (he would get a better comp, with a stick of 512MB DDR, I would get the 128MB so i would be somewhat happy) 3. swap my 2.0 ghz comp with the server.. although i'll have to buy a case for it. (dad gets nothing, server would have 512MB with an additional 900MHz practially doubling the speed)
-
ok... i knew i was running a slow stick of memory in my server, but what you recommend me doing.. Server: 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron @ 100 MHz FSB. Stick 1: SDRAM 128MB PC133 Stick 2: SDRAM 64MB PC100 I can: a. remove stick 2 and just run off the 128MB. b. leave stick 2 in there gaining the extra 64MB but may cause memory problems (random reboots etc...) I can't buy any more RAM since theres no places around where i live that sell computer parts for about 50+ miles. and can't buy over the internet. I'm going to check the RAM in my dads comp and hope to see if theres a possible swap we can do. if not i may try switching my 2.0 GHz spare comp (made from my old mainboard, a friends processor, my sisters hard drive, lolz) for his 800mhz Intel Pentium 3 (i think) which has like 256 MB SDRAM.
