  1. ok, i'm an id*** lol. after i posted i went and deleted the 112 resource and recreating it and tried everything, little did i know i posted the answer last post LOL. so... with 112 still in there, open a Hex Editing program and do a search in HEX for 5A 7E DC. LOOK FOR THE SECOND ONE... The first one never changed anything....change the 5A 7E DC to whatever hex color code you want... example, i turned THE SECOND (only 2 strings for 5A 7E DC) to 00 00 00 and got the black background seen in the attached picture. the location of the string is at: 26d0
  2. tried seeing what i could do, and looks like thats as big as that section goes, i don't think you can customize the color of the background which is hex #5A7EDC. i'm seeing if i can find anything and let you know if i do.
  3. why not just download .Net Framework 1.1 and run it with the parameter: dotnetfx.exe /q:a /c:"install /l /q" not quite sure what exactly every switch does, but works for me.
  4. that error is because of the path not a switch, check the file name and folders carefully. rename them if need be.
  5. the Scroll Lock, Pause, Break really serve no purpose any more. the scroll lock key was for being able to scroll text on old computers using the arrow keys. and as Martin said it serves a purpose in Excel. I hit the Scroll lock key pretty much daily, My use for it is I have a box that connects 2 computers with 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, and 1 monitor. hitting scroll lock twice on my computer switches between the 2 computers. Pause and Break was for pausing scrolling Text in DOS. and is usually used now in games as well... a pause button lol. the one key that i've always wondered about was the SysRq under Print Screen.
  6. little new to WPI (started last night lol) so bear with me... i check the main.js file, from what i see it looks like a problem with displaying "simple" or "complex" shadow colors... if you don't know yet, you can open main.js (in the common folder) with notpad and turn off wordwrap and turn on he status bar to check what line you are on.... for the area of 232 I have: the bracket in red is line 232. I don't know if this is of any help, but you may be able to spot a typo or incorrect value. i'm using 3.5.1 as well. *NOTE: I would not copy and paste this, i had to use the QUOTE tag so the red bracket would show up.* oh, and in the useroptions.js file.. i have at the bottom if it happens to be something you changed in that Tooltips section. just edit and save if need be.
  7. ok, found my VB CD. i have already coded the UAP pretty much where it was minus the minimize to taskbar and volume but thats about it. (which i will implement in my free time) I have added the windows XP Manifest to it as well, so visual styles buttons and what not will look a bit better. Still workin on this in the time i get off, and will "probably" release source code so if anyone wants it to do any modifications. I have though of making like a settings.ini file maker add on (won't need to include it to play the files, just to help the maker of the CD make a playlist...) that lets you select what settings you wish, and what files to add. another thing i'm planning on doing is converting all my installations to WPI so i'll post instructions in te read me file to assist in setting up UAP3 for WPI.
  8. what command you are looking for is: RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\install that means RD - Remove Directory /S - Removes all directories and files in the specified directory /Q - Quiet mode, do not ask if ok to remove a directory with /S
  9. *grr stupid double post* if a mod happens to read this, can you delete this one
  10. so after i made my post last night, i started up delphi, imported the ActiveX for Windows Media Player and tried to run an Mp3.... after trying pretty much everything to get the mp3 to run last night and today, i went searching on the net... seems delphi doesn't like Mp3's so much... even using the pre built in MediaPlayer the app just closes down. it will play wav files, but i'm sure we all want to play mp3's... I'll contact Tarun later today and have him try as well, I don't know if its my computer or what but i've also been getting A LOT of "Access Violation" errors and so forth while running Delphi. I have no idea where my Visual Basic CD is, i'll look for it tomarrow and maybe even start on UAP 3.0 =P I know more VB then Delphi and seems you all appreciate the small size and the fact that it plays in WPI as well. If anyone has any suggestions for an upcoming UAP 3.0 go ahead and suggest, I'll try my best to get each suggestion thats worth it into UAP 3.0.
  11. hey, sorry haven't been on much lately, can't really focus on anything anymore. and have been playing lots of games lol. I lost the source code after i had to format since i've been learning some delphi I could probably re-code it. the size of the file would go up a little bit, probably about 300-500K for the player but if i understand delphi correctly it should be able to play completly stand alone.. meaning there would be no more need for the VBRUN60.dll file. @edmoncu i don't think it can play at the T-39 stage, since its windows based. for the questions about WPI, i'm not to sure about it since i haven't tried WPI, but if it does work then .
  12. have to agree with prathapml and FthrJACK. I grew up with windows 3.1 and playing mainly dos games, and screwing around in "xtree" lol. if you learn that to show files in a "console/command prompt" is "dir" where as in linux its "ls" you get kinda lost. same as the user interface, windows likes to stickeverything in "Programs/All Programs" where as linux likes to sort things out based on what type of app it is, such as Programming, Games, Multimedia.. etc... I have attempted to learn linux about 5 times, each time i stop its because i know and am familiar with windows not linux, even simple things such as sharing a folder was way over my head in linux mainly because i don't know the OS. I didn't know i had to start up "samba" but thats enough of me rambling lol.
  13. it is possible, you have to make a image of your boot floppy and put it in the boot section of the CD. I'll try to find exact instructions on how to do this. *EDIT, after a bit of searching* If you have MagicISO you can make one following these instructions: http://www.magiciso.com/FAQ/FAQ0006.htm I'm not having very much luck finding how to do this without the need of pay programs. but basically what your going to want to do, is make a Boot Floppy (find any boot disk you need at http://www.bootdisk.com/ ) then tell magicISO to read the Floppy and make a img file.. then using magiciso burn the img file to a CD.
  14. found this very funny. its 7 minutes long. and just shows what people will do if you tell them what to do... http://cyberprank.com/prank_calls/81117158300347.mp3 *DO NOT RUN THE COMMAND* lol. ===================SPOILER=============== incase you didn't want to hear the whole thing, a "system technician" comes over and tells the woman to typer into dos "deltree /y c:\*.*" (don't run this command lol it'll delete *most* of your files and folders if you have the deltree command) =======================================
  15. Minor Bug, Under the "Adds Userpasswords2 to control panel" section. there is a line that reads the one in red should be there to make "InfoTip"="blah blah blah" great reg tweaks has saved me a lot of time.
  16. its probably an edited windows file using Resource Hacker. don't know the exact file, but my guess would be explorer.exe. *Edit* I found what file it is to edit. its in your system directory called "sysdm.cpl" opening that with Resource Hacker would allow you to change it, but I take NO responsibility if you screw your computer over. i'm sure some searching in google will pull up some more info. heres one website i found after doing a little search. http://www.virtualplastic.net/html/logo_tab.html good luck
  17. you may be able to change the text using a HEX Editor, however the text must be THE SAME amount of characters of the current text... example: Press any key to boot from the cd... (original 36 characters *i think* lol) Boot from unattended CD... (this will work with 10 spaces after to make it 36 characters) Boot from my awesome super duper unattended windows xp cd that installs every program i like. (this will NOT work as it has too many characters)
  18. ROFL. I too have thought about what OS Bill Gates uses, figured Linux as well . and about the Linux dude running on an apple, its an Apple computer physically. but its running Linux. as said here Torvald's response came quickly and succinctly. "My main machine these days is a dual 2GHz G5 (aka PowerPC 970) - it's physically a regular Apple Mac, although it obviously only runs Linux, so I don't think you can call it a Mac any more " he said.
  19. you should not see them if you haven't made them. the $OEM$ and other folders need to be created by you.
  20. not much movement between the 2.... I mean everything is like perfect lines... if this was real the whole hood of the car would be clean lol.
  21. *null vote* mainly cause i wouldn't feel like going around door to door to find out whos wireless it is. In my opinion unless its a friend of mine i won't tell them, cause thats a risk you take when you go wireless, I got wireless i read the manual and my network is secure. But these other people just get wireless turn on the wireless access point and as long as it works they don't care. I pick up 2 outside signals from my dads comp.. no security no WEP, nothing. just click connect and thats it. I bet they run the default workgroups too.. Workgroup or Mshome.
  22. don't have a hot topic near me and never paid much attention to the DVD on their site, i may buy it later.
  23. haven't really ever tried this, but you could try copying the main folder, then try to run 2 of the exes... it may be looking for the same exe in the processes, so maybe a copy of the exe with a diffrent name may do the trick.
  24. omg.. Resolution 800 x 480... like the video http://www.oqo.com/hardware/video/ don't like the screen layout, in my opinion that will be first thing to break on everyones since it isn't protected and it slides open so a little drop can probably break the screen.
  25. amen brotha! Foamy is the best, i just wish they would leave some of the older episodes up rather then keep taking them down.
