Some older golf demo i got off of cnet. i looked and the game does not have log files.

I just looked under all event types, and I can see a record of the unexpected shut-down - however, referencing the event viewer for the time when the freeze-up occurred, no errors, critical, or any type of events are registered.

I was watching a movie and playing a video game (both half-screen), and the game froze up and I couldn't get task manager to start. I waited a bit to see if things would resolve, and after they did not I restarted (manually) only to get insert proper boot media type message. I restarted again and was unable to get into safe-mode (same insert proper boot media type message). Entering the BIOS the main boot device had been changed to my storage drive (not-bootable). I was able to change back to my OS drive and boot into Windows, but I'm kind of concerned. Is there any way I can look into what might have happened? As far as virsuses, I use AV and browse sandboxed, perform boot-time scans, and am generally pretty cautious.

Seems likely as I used to use CCleaner on the registry. Thank you - worked perfectly. I wonder what caused this issue.

A right-click->properties through explorer yields two tabs only: general, and sharing. I checked entries in regedit and gpedit and settings restricting the folder from being moved are not selected. Also, when I displayed the My Doc folder on the desktop, a right-click-->properties yielded "The properties for this item are not availabe"

I tried changing the dword value for the entry dencorso posted from 60 to 78 with no effect after restarting.

If I change the font size in Display Prop->Appearance, windows resets back to a default theme. Is there any way I can keep all my custom theme settings while upping the font size in "Appearance"?

All-in-1 w/Mirror, Backup, Incremental, Differential & Instances?
xmf replied to xmf's topic in Software Hangout
your suggestion my head I do appreciate the advice, but I know nothing about scripting, I was really just looking for a pre-made program - but thanks. I guess I'll stick with 2 separate programs to get the jobs done. -

Thanks bphlpt, I hadn't considered a cloud solution. I'm not looking for that now though. -

Thanks for the reply. 1) backing up to internal storage drive. with instances, I mean the last 3 (for example) full versions of a backup are kept. 2) real-time is not necessary, but I will look into a raid1 -
I've yet to find a freeware program with all of these features (plus scheduling). 1) For some folders/files I'd like to have a limited number of multiple instance backups 2) I'd like my internal storage drive mirrored to my external drive Can someone please advise? I can accomplish this with separate programs, but I'm wondering if there is an all-in-one solution out there.

The CPU usage in Taskmgr as described in my first post. To clarify post #5, I am not sure how to determine which process is causing the high cpu usage.
-
Thanks, I had looked there, but wasn't sure what figure to check. I assumed it would be in the processes tab under CPU (as a percent maybe), but idle processes show 99 so my assumption is obviously incorrect. Can someone please advise? Thanks
