  1. Level, Kaspersky doesn't have the highest detection rate. Proof of this can be reviewed on AV-Comparatives.org. However, detection rate isn't necessarily the most important factor when judging an anti-virus. AV-Comparatives will say this as well: The level of sophistication that exists in their scanning engines. Kaspersky and NOD32 as far as detection rate, GUI, memory usage, features, scanning efficiency and timing, are the two absolute best overall out of all anti-virus products. I've done the research and I've compared 18 products so far so I feel that is correct.
  2. I've used that several times. It's one of the best programs out there! Hey, is this a new version of the tool? The one I have doesn't remove 2007's version of Norton. Awesome!
  3. More like prevents.
  4. You have to be doing something not quite correctly. I've used VDub for 6 years now on multiple video formats and never have any problem like that.
  5. Hahahah! What a crock of s***!
  6. Works fine for me. What are newer versions for, anyway? Thanks for the link to Restoration guys.
  7. Does anyone else besides me find that to make no sense at all?
  8. Not too bad. I thought Weird Al's "It's All About The Pentiums" funnier.
  9. Computer crash = Windows just abruptly bails on you? Never. BSOD = Maybe 2 or 3 times in the last few years due to a video driver conflict which I fixed myself. Freeze Up = About a month back caused by a now older version of Hamachi while it was starting up. It hasn't happened since then so I didn't bother posting/searching on their forums about it. Windows fails to load = Never. Restart after Windows update to have: Missing operating system...? = Never. Program Crash = Not that I recall. I use good software.
  10. Instead of ZA, try Outpost Firewall v4.0. I wouldn't recommend pulling the plug on your PC, rather just disconnecting the dial-up/ethernet cable from your PC, that's much safer hardware wise. Also, harddrive imaging is the ultimate solution, yes. I use Acronis True Image Home Edition v10.0.
  11. Undelete Plus 2.11 (Freeware) Google it.
  12. http://www.data-recovery-software.net/
  13. Zoofield, have you tried Outpost Pro v4.0?
  14. I've used R-Studio Corporate to recover entire TV episodes (350 MBs) from an old 80 GB IDE drive which was formatted several times after I had deleted those episodes. DigeratiPrime can second me on that as well, he's the one who recommended the software to me in the first place.
  15. After a normal reformat, you can use one of many dozens of free and payware data recovery programs. Just search MSFN for "data recovery" and you'll be all set.
  16. Yeah, I like the look of Vista overall as well. It's preeeetyyy...
  17. @Jcarle, yeah Zxian recommended that to me as well. I think I'll add that to my Christmas list and sell my D-Link DI-604 for $20 or so, probably to a co-worker.
  18. Yes, I've never taken anything from that site seriously.

  20. Post moved to its own topic.
  21. Yes, I figured it would have been obvious, but yeah.
  22. 6.95 GB (7,472,820,484 bytes) 37,531 Files (6,627 Folders)
  23. Nice work on creating two topics for the same issue.
  24. Just because it seems normal to you, and that no real danger has ever resulted from your apparent conditions, doesn't mean that there isn't a problem and it won't cause danger later on. Do as Zxian and Jcarle suggest.
  25. Clean out your PC with CCleaner and Defragment your harddrive with either PerfectDisk or Diskeeper.
