Would you mind providing a screenshot?

You have 3 anti-virus programs installed?! None of those should be installed. McAfee and Symantec are bloated and are more problematic for your system than anything else and don't do the best job at actually removing the virus. AVG has too low a detection rate and arguably a horrible GUI. I suggest you use Kaspersky or NOD32. AV-Comparatives

The easiest way to do it would be to take your original XPCD (if you even have one), copy it to your HD (C:\XPCD) and use nLite to integrate your SATA drivers (the txtsetup.oem file will be needed to specify appropriate OS). If you have a brand-name PC (Dell, Acer, etc) they will have a copy of Windows setup files in "C:\1386". If you have this, then you can browse to this location from within nLite.

Either use System Restore, or a data recovery tool like Undelete Plus (freeware) or Restoration (freeware). Back your files up on CD/DVD. You just feel so much better knowing you have original copies of your files somewhere safe. Hell, make more than one backup.

I believe DirectX v9.0c comes with SP2. 99% sure on that. Can I get a 1% from someone else?

Well, you're also being as vague as it gets. You've been asked a series of questions by Zxian to help us better understand your needs here and you've just restated a seemingly blind desire to setup RAID. If you have the requirements previously mentioned, especially a motherboard that supports RAID, it is very easy to do. However, if you just want to backup data, you don't necessarily need RAID. What are you trying to backup? The entire OS, or just certain documents on one PC or more than one? If an entire OS, then image the drive with Acronis True Image. if only certain files, then use an external HD, CD(s), DVD(s), flash drives, networked drive... Please be specific. This kind of knowledge is essential if you are running or working in a "computer shop" as well.

Just run the Network Setup Wizard on both PCs and make sure the workgroup name for both is the same. They will both have the same IP address, but internally one will be, for example, 192.168.0.100 and the other 192.168.0.101. Also, I suggest you update to Service Pack 2.

I agree with Gamehead200.

Not another fan boy... What a bloody waste of money. I really feel sorry for people out there who think they can only be happy with something like that. Hell, I'm using a GeForce 6800GS and HL2, BF2, FEAR, COD2, Oblivion, I've had good framerates on all of them."OMFG, where's my 150 FPS!?" "60 FPS is smooth. Start appreciating what you've got.

Yes, I'd say it's 99.9% an improperly installed or corrupted driver. Deinstall it, and use DriverHeaven's DriverCleaner (freeware) to cleanup any remaining files and registry entries. Reboot, cancel out of Windows' automatic launching of the New Hardware Wizard and then proceed to Device Manager and manually update the drivers with the latest versions.

There are programs that perform "Burn-In" tests on pretty much every part of your system. If you had the 56k modem connected to the Internet, you could just monitor bandwidth for a few hours to make sure everything's fine with it. As for graphics cards, you could use 3DMark 2006. Other than that you could just use the parts in games and online for a while and if everything seems ok, then off they go...

Unable to burn Video to DVD Movie
Jeremy replied to dreamz020's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
I see you've mentioned several programs you've tried to burn with. The first thing that comes to mind when you're given an I/O error during burning is how many processes may be running in the background and how many things you have open at any given time.I suggest closing down everything except for the burning application and then try burning again. Also, if you have a can of compressed air or one of those CDs with bristles on it for wiping off the laser lens of the burner, try cleaning that if you're also running into low buffer levels. For future reference, I recommend you use Nero 7 Lite Micro located here. What make and model is your burner? Different brands of CDRs and DVD-/+Rs support certain read/write speeds as well. You should be aware of the specs for your burner. It could just be the software. I/O errors can also indicate hardware problems, but since you're burning some DVDs fine, that's not the case here. -

I hope you don't expect for it to live much longer.

I'm assuming all the PCs in the hotel are all on the same network? If so, people can type up or transfer any printable source they wish and as long as the printer is on the network as well, they could send the document to that printer.

Watched a Super Mario 64 speed run in 6 minutes or so a while back, can't remember where I got it, though.

Shareaza stops downloading while in screensave!
Jeremy replied to Woomera's topic in Software Hangout
I am aware of that, but as it's more of a "connect to a server to get a list of peers" client, it doesn't just do torrents. I was moreso suggesting that he use uTorrent. -
What Anti-Virus do you Use/Recommend?
Jeremy replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
Yes, and it's not as good as Avast, either. And even still, AntiVir has a higher detection rate than Symantec and it's freeware as well. -

What I would like is to have azagahl re-create this timebomb incident and capture it with software like SnagIt or CamStudio to prove it rather than carrying on this rediculousness. This thread needs to be cleaned up.
