  1. Nope, I don't have a problem with my mouse cord at all. It's 6ft and non-tangle to begin with. My tower sits to the right of my desk so the cord goes behind my desk and around my LCD stand. I never have to pull for more cord or re-adjust it. I have the Razer Copperhead laser mouse.
  2. I used the latest version and it wouldn't let me drag and drop a folder from TreeView into the compliation.
  3. No, not really. It's been dealt with time and time again by many others over the years. Nothing new here.
  4. I suggest you work on your manners. I'm not a mod? Wow, as if that wasn't painfully obvious. You need help, sure. You fail to provide any further information and to answer questions asked, except with "wtf r u talking about" which doesn't get anyone anywhere. That's why I made the suggestion. Kids these days... If you need help that bad, why not do your own research on Google and other forums instead of waiting around for someone to reply here? Oh, I remember, "Because I choose not to". Then I believe the "too bad so sad" goes to you.
  5. Use nLite but don't focus so much on removing stuff from your OS. It's Christmas time.
  6. I like wired mice. No need for batteries.

I believe the forums are better because of organization. If we have dozens of n00bs join and they start swamping the place with silly questions and PMing the mods thinking they are special... it just isn't going to be fun. On these forums, the things that people say are moderated properly. Etiquette is enforced, whereas on IRC it would be havoc.

    DX9

Ah, there it is. I missed it. My apologies.
  9. RyanVM's pack is all I need, so no need for another. *Tips imaginary hat to RyanVM*

    DX9

This wasn't stated until now so I was obviously unaware. Had that been known, my post wouldn't have been made. Cheers.
  11. It's a question, and a fairly simple one at that. However, as I don't see this topic going anywhere or even being of any importance, I suggest it be closed. Cheers.

    DX9

Why do people bother to integrate these later redistributions of DirectX? I've played almost every recent RPG/FPS out there and never get any errors because of my DirectX. What is the point?
  13. Bleser, redo from scratch, read descriptions and be more careful in the future.
  14. See how you get yes and no from different people who think they know what they are talking about when in fact they are clueless? For questions like that, it's always good to go right to the guy who makes the program, in this case, Nuhi.
  15. Well, regardless of what IM client you're using the difference in memory usage is minimal of a few MBs here and there. Not really a big deal with a lot of RAM. You should have at least 512MB.
  16. Guys, keep it cool, please.
  17. Well, Services tweaking won't make a different on 1 or 2GB of RAM, but on 256 and 512MB it will. That's off-topic, though.
  18. Wow! Why make Everest, then?
  19. You're just causing yourself unnecessary headache. No offense but I feel sorry for anyone who is victim to that POS software. Start supporting Kaspersky and/or NOD32. That's the good stuff that actually works. I Googled this for you and the first result was someone else telling the user to ditch Norton as well.
  20. I've never tried to burn a PSx game with Nero so I don't know. I think people usually use Alcohol 120% for that purpose, though. If it works, then it works.
  21. Windows XP doesn't need a floppy, but as your CD/DVD ROM isn't functioning properly I can see why you'd resort to that. No, I don't believe that is possible. It would be pointless to try if you know that your system does not support booting to USB devices. Do you have another known-working CD/DVD ROM you can use? Do you know why your CD/DVD drive has stopped functioning? Borrow a friend's perhaps. What specifically do you mean by the harddrive becoming "iffy"?
  22. That's Windows File Protection which monitors and replaces (if necessary) system (.DLL) files if they are modified or removed. These files are stored in a hidden directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache. You can disable this, however if you're a general user I wouldn't recommend it as the feature is there to prevent/reduce headache from problems like this. I would suggest inserting the CD and do as Naki suggests and Dial-A-Fix to unregister and reregister all the essential files. This should resolve those errors.
  23. Use nLite and take the I386 folder (which will be a backup of all the Windows installation files) to remove, customize and make a bootable ISO from. In the mean time, I would backup your drivers so that after you reformat and install, you have them. You can do an Unattended installation with nLite and put your legal CD key right in there. That's all you should need to do. I can't believe they provide NIS/NAV by default on new pre-loaded computers. How utterly disgusting. If he only removes unneeded Drivers and Languages, then he has a slimmed down OS that's suited for his language(s) that doesn't have anything critical to the functionality removed. I wish people would stop generalizing nLite in that way, "You used nLite? You will need to reinstall as you removed something that is needed". What did you remove? IE Core? Or just a few languages that is harmless?
