  1. I took this screenshot immediately after a game of BF2. I've been talking with PuntoMX who is focused on price:performance ratio with me. I'm currently using stock everything. We've narrowed it down to the three as follows: Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 Rev. 3 HR-05-SLI High Riser Northbridge Chipset Cooler If you guys have any input, feel free to provide it. Thanks. Cheers, Jeremy
  2. Try Unlocker on it. Sounds like a virus. Use Kaspersky or Avast to scan your entire system of viruses. Then use Ad-Aware, Spybot and Windows Defender to remove spyware.
  3. Avast (freeware anti-virus) Kaspersky (payware anti-virus) Ad-Aware, Spybot, Windows Defender, HijackThis log file *attached to the post* Or you could just reformat it.
  4. If you don't like the arrows, get rid of them. If you don't care, leave them be. Up to you.
  5. I just tried it out. It outperforms VMware and the snapshots are about the same size as VMware snapshots. They are stored in: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\.VirtualBox\Machines\Virtual Machine Name\ Once I am done a current project that I use VMware for, I will be switching over.
  6. Use freeware, Avast. Excellent product, no need to pay.
  7. The Wii is all I'm hearing about, also that woman who held in her p*** for one and died. She had 3 kids. The PC is the ultimate gaming platform AFAIAC.
  8. Ciarlo, there's another word that came to mind when I read your signature.
  9. http://www.matousec.com/projects/windows-p...sts-results.php Thanks, Tarun.
  10. Start > Run > services.msc Make sure: Computer Browser Workstation Server Network Connections Network Location Awareness ... are all set to Started and Automatic.
  11. Use Dial-A-Fix and unreg-reregister the Runtimes. Then use the SymNRT 2007 tool to cleanse your system of Norton. Use Avast it is freeware and much better. If you're willing to pay money, get Kaspersky or NOD32.
  12. PM someone with Gmail invites.
  13. Do people not look before posting anymore? I guess that's why Zxian's custom title says, "Scroll up, see the Google bar?"
  14. The best tweaking tool is your own .REG file based on the tweaking tools and using RegMon to record what changes they make to the registry. My .REG file is 43 KBs.
  15. Just backup your drivers with Double Driver or Driver Genius and use nLite to integrate them into your install source.
  16. For you and me and many other "techs" here, of course. But not necessarily for someone too focused on looking at porn and deleting company data. Besides, he could just rename the file "svchost.exe" and no one would notice, since there can easily be 5 or 6 of these in the Task Manager with default Services config.
  17. Search for each entry called "IsShortcut" and delete them all; F3, Delete until the search doesn't find anymore. Reboot.
  18. You might as well try an alternative shell.
  19. I never trust those online speed testers. They give you a different number each time seemingly without any pattern to them.
  20. Thanks for the info Punto. Someday I'll get myself a new video card and give my fiancee this one. I find it hard to believe she doesn't complain about low FPS on Sims 2 on that old ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
  21. Google is your friend, again.
  22. A logical partition is one without an OS. An active partition is one with an OS. If you use a partition for storage/backup, it is logical. If you decide at some point to install Windows on it, then it becomes active.
  23. There are many programs that take before and after snapshots of your registry. One popular one is RegSnap. Google is also your friend.
