  1. I've removed the front and top fan. My CPU and GPU temps went up 2C. I opened the window (a real window) and: CPU = -6C GPU = -13C HDD1 = -11C HDD2 = -10C ...in the last 20-25 minutes.
  2. Nero does support Dual Layer burning. If Nero Lite Micro fails it's your hardware. I'd suggest dusting out the DVD Rom Tray, unplugging and plugging the drive back in, making sure all connections are secure. Also, make sure the IDE cable you're using is 80-wire and not 40-wire.
  3. My providing of legitimate information on legal applications is the complete opposite of spamming. If you don't like being provided information then don't go to the web sites in the links. People are often misinformed and misguided when it comes to which application should be used. Tarun is the one who originally gave me that website. I was surprised at the information on it so whenever someone asks or states something about any firewall, I provide that site. You don't have to tell people not to bother with a particular website. If they wish to visit or ignore it, it is their own choice to make, not yours. Cheers.
  4. 0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER A kernel-mode process or driver incorrectly attempted to perform memory operations. Typically, a faulty driver or buggy software causes this. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=265879&sd=RMVP
  5. What boggles me why someone would purchase hardware without the means of an operating system to properly support it beforehand. Windows XP SP2, what's the problem?
  6. Are you sure your motherboard isn't faulty in some way? I know that's really general but it's the best I can do for now.

  8. I never understoof why people bother to use these "Hide IP Address" tools. They sucker users into the whole "anonymous browsing" scheme, it's ridiculous. What, so you can't tell what IP address the guy used when he went to said porn site? Give me a break... If anyone knows a plausible and practical benefit to using these tools, let me know.
  9. lol! Mm-mo-mo-mo-mo-MonsterKILL Kill kill kill.... Sorry, couldn't resist.
  10. I gather the registry entries (if any) and game directory(ies) so that the next time I want to play I just copy over and re-import. I hate going from CD to CD or ISO to ISO.
  11. Hahaha, it's on your guide. How would it do that? That folder is locked by Windows...
  12. Do you have a local computer service shop? If so, they would do the same work but charge you for it. It's not going to kill your system to have the software on there, just wait for a time when you have more time.
  13. When troubleshooting, yes. However, as it is already been established this PC is bloated with trialware and crippleware and uninstalling them will not remove all traces. It will be easier and less time-consuming for suzyq to reformat the drive, go with better (and smaller) software. What would you tell a person who just got a Dell with all that garbage trial/crippleware on it? Format.
  14. PestPatrol is well known for having more false-positives than actual malware. Ad-Aware SE, Spybot, Windows Defender, CWShredder, About:Buster (for additional hijackers to CWShredder). SpywareBlaster is good also, but I personally just deal with removal of malware and not removal + software protection against potential future malware. You will do this yourself mostly by learning from mistakes.
  15. How about some actual troubleshooting instead of the "no one learns a thing" method, eh?
  16. So when you open Windows Explorer, it takes 5-6 seconds for the button to appear in the taskbar? Does the application open up before this or after? If after, it's not a tweak it's likely a fragmentation problem.

    Thanks

You're very welcome for whatever it is you're thanking us for.
  18. That boot priority is fine. You have a BIOS that follows this order very strictly. I've encountered this before on several PCs. You press F8 to get to the advanced boot options, correct? Well after you reformat and the PC reboots, keep pressing F8 to once again get here and select 3 for the HDD. Setup will continue normally. The only reason this wouldn't happen correctly is if the CD you're trying to boot from is not bootable.
  19. I Googled "Start Menu Delay" and got this: Start > Run > regedit: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop" - Modify "Menu Show Delay" value to 0. Default value seems to be 400ms. Does this resolve your issue?
  20. Try this and then attempt playback with FFDShow and another media player such as Media Player Classic. This problem has been troubleshooted to death on the forum before.
  21. Well done, Nuhi.
  22. Well, whatever key it is set to bring up the boot options. Next time it reboots, go into BIOS and change the first boot option to HDD, then it should continue with setup normally.
  23. Nothing a quick reinstall won't fix.
  24. Everest reports my temperatures as being the following: Idle Motherboard - 43-44C CPU - 38-39C CPU Diode - 41C GPU - 43C GPU Ambient - 36C Both HDDs - 35-36C Full Load Motherboard - 48C CPU - 44C CPU Diode - 47C GPU - 58C GPU Ambient - 48C Both HDDs - 36 & 37C
