  2. I'm not sure what you're talking about but try installing FFDShow and Media Player Classic.
  3. Ditch Hotmail and use Gmail.

  5. For software recording, use Audacity. But if you're in a band then I suggest using a mixer and then transferring the music to the PC for editing if desired.

    fraps

Download a trial of jv16 PowerTools 2006 and use the Software Manager to see if Fraps appears. If so, reinstall the demo and then uninstall it via the Software Manager which will run the uninstaller and clean all the registry entries.
  7. Wow, I totally misread that. I do apologize. Anyway, so just buy an external HDD. I once got a Maxtor FireWire HDD... did that ever suck... but that was way back when...

  9. False, I got my ISO down to 654 MBs without removing anything marked in Red in vLite. The day I buy Vista I won't go without using vLite. Holy cow that OS is heavy.... Next OS in 2009 should be 10GB or so... This is what vLite's latest version will remove: Clicky With that selection, ISO size = 650MB.
  10. It will be released when it is released. Keep yourself busy, don't revolve your life around a program or you'll get sad rather quickly.
  11. if you use nLite only to remove unneeded Keyboard Layouts and Languages you'd save yourself a lot of hassle....
  12. Same here, using the latest ForceWare but only the drivers as I don't need extra stuff, only so Windows functions properly with my video card. No problems unless you didn't install those properly or are using some modded/"optimized" drivers. You brought this upon yourself frankly. You should know now what needs to be done to resolve it.
  13. Sounds like possibly a defective PSU, RAM or faulty mobo. Is it under warranty? If so, they could take it back and get it repaired. Yeah, I hear eMachines are bottom of the barrel. I'm not surprised. It's like straight out of the cereal box, eh?
  14. Well, you have a stronger pickiness towards those aspects it appears, which is fine. I don't know enough about it so I can't answer that. It's not necessary to get snappy here. Some people aren't as knowledgeable. The point is, I've run the first one you mentioned and it showed me: 1. How hot my video card got at maximum load after 7 straight hours (overnight) 2. How loud my system gets. 3. The maximums FPS my card can do when I had the settings as high as the card could handle. I don't know what else you'd want to know after a GPU stress besides those. Cheers.
  15. I had the same problem recently but I believe it was a result of accidentally banging my elastic-suspended HDD against the corner of my case upon removal a few days ago while the system was running. I restored successfully with a 3 week old image file with Acronis but now my HDD makes a slight bit more noise than it used to. They have warranty with Seagate so I will be RMAing them for new ones. First I have to clone my OS drive to a Dual Layer and burn the data on my storage drive. @RBCC, I believe a repair install should resolve your problem.

    DVDtoPOD

Did you try the above mentioned software?
  17. I don't think that's possible. You just run it overnight and keep a log of your temperatures with SpeedFan or Everest.
  18. Which doesn't exist and likely never will.
  19. Well, M$ doesn't go out of their way (releasing security bulletins on a monthly basis) to further secure their browser, unless the big boys complain about it. If it's a bunch of end-users, they'll say "turn off java scripting until next month".
  20. Any browser. Only difference is that IE takes what... 30 days to fix to patch an exploit, while Opera has a fixed version in only a couple days.
  21. My favorite color is blue. Used to be red a few years ago, though... Purdy colors...
  22. Each browser has flaws, they just have to be discovered and thus given the possibility to exploit, then fixes are made and new versions are released.
  23. Just like you're sure that PageFault wanted to get admin access for good intentions. Then don't call me Jerry. My name is Jeremy. You can read, do it properly. Have a good weekend, Cheeze.
  24. Cheeze, they have those policies enforced at your school for a reason. And Snuff'n'Stuff's "nifty tools" will likely result in you getting banned from the PCs or even expelled. I remember when I was in high school and someone got expelled for breaking computer policy just once. Keep yourself out of hot water and keep the right-clicking at home. I don't agree with the policy but its better to be safe than sorry.
