  1. Absolutely agree hands down. Article & Benchmarks PSU - OCZ PowerStream 520W minimum.
  2. Why don't you go to the Shareaza Forums are run around screaming over there?
  3. Stop arguing. It maybe open-source but that doesn't make it the best.
  4. This is my life goal...
  5. Use Ad-Aware, Spybot and M$ AntiSpyware. Among the three, nothing will be missed. Top 3. They have it like that at my college, too.
  6. I knew you would assume I was posting only to attack you about "impractical Windows". I was not. I see people requesting "software patches". I wanted to ask you if all you do is merely replace DLLs you removed in the first place? Just started reading the first bit of your thread now, I appreciate that. Btw, best way to quit smoking is cold turkey. But whatever approach you take, I sincerely hope you succeed in quiting for good. You can pwn it!
  7. Nevermind.
  8. It is a lot easier to instruct someone by phone than by text. Tell her to enable a password on her user account and how to set up Remote Desktop, then you won't have to worry about it. Just so you know, it uses port 3389.
  9. You might have simply selected a tweak pertaining to the Start Menu in nLite when you first made the ISO and forgot... Recent Documents Tweak
  10. The mere fact that it took you months to download stuff doesn't say wonders for a piece of crap like Shareaza. You on dial-up? Use torrents. Oh, your actual problem... can't hel you. Sorry. File recovery program = FinalData
  11. Media Player Classic v6.4.8.6 CoRoNe's DirectShow FilterPack QuickTime Alternative FFDShow Latest Enable "FFDshow VFW Decoder Helper" in MPC Overrides. Good... To... Go Screw every other combination of media playback setup.
  12. (Auto Reply) Use Opera.
  13. I searched the forum and didn't find any direct mention of this software. My friend uses this and told me about it. It isn't free but I wanted to try it anyway. I was blown away. The interface is beautiful. The registry entries found are beautifully organized into categories and the details for each entry are listed in columns. There are also several other very useful functions, which remind me of CCleaner. This program is WAY better than JV16 PowerTools which is sluggish in response time. It has difficulty resizing columns automatically when new invalid reg entries are found. It needs to "optimize the registry cleaner which could take 2-20 minutes" and ALWAYS freezes and never works on my PC for some reason. I am officially switching to Ace Utilities!
  14. I guess it's a love/hate relationship with any IM client. I use Trillian. I edited the config so it starts up instantly and disabled everything but the MSN plugin.
  15. My Keyboard Nothing special. My girlfriend got me it for my birthday, lol. Just your basic type, just the way I like it.
  16. pfft, I'm waiting for the Optimus Keyboard.
  17. Uhm, yeah, sure. Why not? As long as the appopriate files are on the CD and it's readable. You have many CDRs? use one and see for yourself.
  18. Delayed double-clicking?
  19. As far as adding your own programs to your Unattended CD, check out this sticky in the nLite subforum. Programs as CAB files that you add to nLite under Hotfixes. Otherwise visit unattended.msfn.org.
  20. Scan for viruses on your whole computer using Kaspersky or NOD32. Scan for spyware with Ad-Aware SE, Spybot 1.4, and Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta, CWShredder v2.19. Even if it isn't a virus/spyware problem, you might happen to stumble on malware you didn't know you had. How much RAM do you have? Do you have a lot of programs running at startup? If your amount of RAM is insufficient for the number of programs you have running and you're doing something like gaming, Windows has to swap from the RAM to the page file excessively, which results in poor performance.
  21. Here's a registry edit that hides "My Network Places" from Windows Explorer. I get the feeling that isn't quite what you wanted. I don't run a network so I can't help you otherwise. Sorry.
  22. You guys are f***ing insane.

    X-Fire

I tried Gizmo, didn't like it. My college A+ instructor mentioned LSPFix. Perhaps someone will mention this LSP issue to the XFire developers so they can fix this "issue". I don't have many games installed, I'm not in any clan so I don't have much use for XFire. Nonetheless, it is a nice app and it now works with Garry's Mod, which I play often.
  24. I just research and read opinions of software before I use them, so I know that if the program tries to be sneaky, hopefully someone else before me has experienced it, let everyone else know so I can be aware of it beforehand. I have... roughly about 80-85 programs on my FTP and all seem to be just fine.
  25. Yes, Zxian already established that, thanks for being a parrot. Compression is not the one and only factor when considering a compression program.
