dont know if this actualy belongs here but here goes, i bought an asus p5k motherboard with an intel core 2 duo, the probem was that i kept getting an error during system startup that my cpu is unkown and i need to update the bios to unleash the cpu power even after i installed the drivers from the cd.so i downloaded the latest bios from the website and used the asus bios updater included in the cd to update the bios and after the second part of the update i got an error in the 3rd part and then restarted the computer. now nothing happens in the start and system keeps getting restarted.nothing shows in the monitor just restarting... so i tried to reset the bios but unpluggin the cables and removing the bios battery for 1hour or so even putting it in reverse but nothing worked. completely stucked over here, anyone can help please?

for those who might have came across the same issue i found a fix: Try checking HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, and see what the Shell value is set to (should be explorer.exe) Credit goes to google and http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1291213 it appears to be some kind of a virus or malicious software and i have been using the windows with my KAV disabled for few days so it explains why...

i just restarted my windows vista ultimate and after the login nothing happens and just blank monitor.ctrl-alt-delete works and can logoff or restart but nothing else happens.also can see the task manager and seems like nothing have been loaded except for some basic windows services. tried to start in safe-mode and track the problem but was the same result. tried the "last known good config" but same. last thing i done was that i uninstalled unlocker software in the noon and uninstalled one of my games before the restart.an strange thing is that the icons in login page are not there(the user icons i mean). anyone can help please? UPDATE: i checked the task manager and seems like that explorer.exe doesnt start so after starting it through "run" in the task manager everything loads.but still dont know what have caused this!

If you don't worry about bandwidth throttling, then something like the analogx proxy will work for you. Thanks alot im throtting the proxy software with netlimiter so its all fine now

well the proxy alone would be enough too.no need for the QOS right now. how to build up that proxy?

but i need a solution for my current situation

i didnt find any way either so i attached the lan cable from modem to PC and have the home network on my wireless.i dont want to use ICS(dont think its possible anyway on LAN-Wireless) so i added some routing tables to have the packets pointed out but it doesnt seem to work. is it possible to have the vista acting as a router or NAT server without any additional software? if not any free ones to do this?

Situation: ADSL/Access Point with 3+ computer connected to the access point and can have internet connection, but the problem is that i wanna have bandwidth control over the other computers on the netwrok so i set the dhcp to give them the default gateway as my own computer ip address and have my own connection with manualt set default gateway of adsl port. now all i need is that i set an internal tunneling which tunnels the packets from internal network and route them to the real gateway address. default gateway: 192.168.150.1 own pc: 192.168.150.10 others gateway: 192.168.150.10 how can that be done?

i have a forum and website.the website is made by joomla and forum by IPB.lately ive been trying to show the ipb in a wrapper in joomla frame and cant seem to do it right,ive seen website achive this with joomla+IPB and joomla+vbulletin.invisionize is an example(not made by joomla though). the first problem is the auto-height of the wrapper that doesnt work and the second problem is the fact that its just a wrapper and when a user try to open a link from forum ina new window it wont show in the joomla frame anymore. i really appreciate any help guys...

is it true that the files get corrupted or end up having similiar problems if you create one partiion in the size of the HDD? i have done this with one of my HDD's and now it seems that i get many file corrupted errors...

that site needs to learn the difference between freeware and adware/spyware . I dont know if your trully given the option to not install the adware or not because thats as far as i got. -install if you want but don't say i didnt warn you Ill stick with a real freeware screensaver for now well i never downloaded any of their products i just pointed out the URL i dont like 3d screensavers
