i have a database of music, movies and photos. i want them to all be centralized for access from different devices. my devices: -PC running Vista ultimate (audio output: analog/digital) -Macbook running Mac os 10.5.8 -Playstation 3 -Samsung DVD home cinema system HT-TX35 (input: analog/digital - output: HDMI)) -Western Digital 500GT external drive -AOC 22" monitor (supports VGA/DVI/HDMI) Current softwares installed: -PC Itunes VLC TVersity Windows media player 11 -Mac Itunes VLC max budget can be spent: 150$ for now what im trying to accomplish is to have all my media files centralized for access from any pc/mac/ps3. sharing thwm as folders works for pc/mac but if a new laptop enters the network its not that friendly to gain access over them, and the downside is that PS3 cant access at all. tried Tversity and PS3 media server but content management in both is very poor. the setup im using right now is i have the samsun attached to PC with Optical cable and analog o macbook and listening to music and watching movies.have the itunes library shared so can be access by any other itunes and have some folders shared via TVersity.using built-in speaker in monitor and attached the HDMI from PS3 to monitor. what i came across to be somewhat useful is to buy a NAS(network attached storage) like WD world edition which supports itunes but again the support for PS3 lacks. for now i can only spent 150 bucks, anyone have any advice or suggestions to make this more efficient? BTW while i can efford to buy hardware's i cant buy any software since i live in iran.

i have a wireless network containing both windows xp/vista and mac os clients. im using the built-in DHCP server on the Access Point. i would like to set proxy settings for all workstations automatically upon their connect to the network is it possible to do so for any type of the clients without using Active Directory? yes i have the latest version (wlm 9) downloaded few days ago from softpedia, though i finally got it to work. seems like they have banned users from Iran so i had to use proxy and change my settings to set the country to the region of my proxy server. too sad ...

i keep getting error 810003c1 while trying to connect to windows live messenger for a wek now. only solution i could find for it on web was changing region/country in login.live.com which i have done many times but no luck. anyone knows what else could be the cause of this error?

thanks alot for your replies, it seems like my only option is using third-paty software's like Drivemac which are just stand-alone explorer's and wont apply any changes to windows explorer so i wont be able to share the drive in first place. if anyone knows a way to share the mac formatted drive on windows!?

i have an external drive with 3 main partion's, 2 are NTFS formatted and one Mac OS Extended for backing up my macbook.the problem is that i dont want to un-plug the drive from the pc and plug it again to the macbook everytime i wanna make a backup. is there anyway i can share the mac os formatted drive so it can be used by the laptop?

ok i managed to fix my networking issue with re-installing all the netwrok adapters drivers but still dont know what was that error, though its not important anymore.

after installing/uninstalling Comodo Firewall some of windows services started malfunctioning so i tried running SFC /SCANNOW and in the end i got an error: "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log ..." i really appreciate it if anyone could tell whats wrong and how to fix this. my website used to have a google page rank of 7/10 but few weeks ago server went through some maintanance and website was down about 30% of the time.now its been stable for nearly 2 weeks and when i check the page rank again its 1/10.basically google doesnt index my website anymore. how can i fix this if anything i can do?

picasa is one of the best picture viewer/editor softwares i ever seen but i have a problem with the way picasa shows the folders from hard disk.for example you have a folder name "A" with 2 sub-folders's name "B" and "C", when you import them in picasa it shows them as 3 individual folders and not as folder and sub-folder's. is there any way you can keep the folder structures in picasa?

no, i havent OC'ed my system.not this machine and bios settings are all at "Optimized". havent tested memtest yet but ill give it a try.

well i cant open the system properties to change that value cause i get "page failed to load" error though from HiJackThis program i found out that i have several missing files set in windows service's.the weird thing is that SFC /SCANNOW doesnt return anything and indicates that all files are correct. how can i repair the missing files without losing my current settings?
