got a link to a 2001se compare? just curious to see how it performs against other 5600's first off, second to see if its a driver issue (how are you installing the drivers?). what card was in it before?

on the hardware only? thats where i find it hard to beat an oem. i can beat them on price for the hardware, but then you throw in the os, and all that other little piddling software that mom and pop want... thats where you cant touch them.

alright it seems you guys are getting a little confused (or im a little drunk ) its the fsb x 4 pipelines or highways as the linked article uses that term. the 800 mhz fsb p4's dont actually run a 800 mhz fsb. they run a fsb of 200mhz x four pipes. 800 is the "effective" fsb. p4 w/ 533 uses 4x133mhz p4 w/ 400 runs 4x100mhz amd uses varients of the same except they all run at 2xfsb, instead of 4 alright im a little confused by this one. are you saying that DC doubles the mem speed? all that DC does is give you more room on the "highway". instead of using one 64bit pipe, it gives you a 128bit pipe. it gives you 2x the amount of "lanes on the highway" but doesnt change the speed limit.

isnt that more than he's asking for? $2k doesnt get you much in the cisco world. thats basically their entry point on price. my entry level pix 506e firewall was $1600, and thats still their soho gear. id hate to see what a major company is paying for some of their gear.

wildkat.. what kind of cpu? if its amd... make sure you run the fsb and mem speed in sync. they perform like crap with them out of sync aka fsb at 266, but mem set to 333.

running a xp2500+ w/ 1.700v @ 215x10.. my temps on air were about 44c/51c idle/load using a slk-800 with a 36cfm 80mm fan. the case had 4x80mm, and 1 120mm for flow. that was with a relatively low room temp also, about 23c. my room temp now is about 27c and my temps are 34c/38c. the temps are nice, but the quiet is even nicer.

it depends. do you plan on running it at 333 or 266? if you can only run it at 266, not really going to be a day to day difference, even tho you should be able to run it at quicker timings.

nice! but let me know how that res works for you... me, id be afraid to lay something opened ended like that down in my case. I looked at the swiftech stuff, but the tubing connections made me leary... i needed some old fashion clamps on my hoses to make me feel better how are your temps compared to before?

looks nice squeak just got my watercooling setup on sunday. runs nice and cool, but best of all... quiet. the only bad part? i was a moron and used a jewelers screwdriver to get the heatsink off my 9700 pro. we all know what happens when we try that, right? well it didnt look to bad, so i thru the gpu waterblock on it, fired up my system... and its gone. so im back to my 4400 for awhile (either ati fixes mine, or i can come up w/ $500 for a fx5900).

the problem with running it straight from the sound card to an amp is volume control.... you'll have to adjust it in windows, or in games, etc... gets to be a pain. thats why i run mine into a pre-amp.

hi all. ive got plans for my companies new building that my boss to be able to email out to contractors... the plans were drawn up using autocad2000. if i try to export the plan as a bmp, the bmp image opens up, but there is nothing there but black. ideally id like to figure out a way to save/export/whatever teh plan to a pdf. any help is appreciated.

hi all! ive got a ms intellimouse explorer 3.0a that works fine in 2k3, but i cant get the downloaded software to install.... im trying to get the 2 thumb buttons to work in games, but the setup gives me a wrong OS error..... any ideas? thanks

i had the same problem on a dell optiplex. to fix it i had to hot swap the monitor cable. let the machine boot on the video card, wait till it freezes, swap the monitor cable to the onboard.... once win2k loads up, right click the desk, goto properties, and select the matrox as primary.. hope that works for you...

small network w/ a single dc... gpedit on xp machines shows the correct policy, as does the GPRESULT tool.... /me scratches head

man, i cant believe all the good stuff i keep hearing about this game...... i installed it, but it took me longer to come up with a goddam name for station.com than it did for the game to install.... i was typing 6 random characters and it still took me 20 minutes to come up with a user name. hop into the training... falll thru the map, the 3 finger salute doesnt work, reboot. so i figure screw it. hop into multi. try to join a server. server connection times out. you think it would let me try a different server? nope, after the time out, the program ctd's. finally get into a laggy game, everytime i go to walk thru a door.... ctd. worst $40 ive ever spent. id have more fun w/ matilda the hun beating the s*** outta me....

no, ive seen them up and running before. i screwed up and left terminal services wide open, came in the next day, about 12 user accounts were locked out. went in to the secuirty log, and there where like 1200 events in a 35-40 min time period. it'll log the events that you have set up to the sec log. but im missing something here.

hi all, ive have account logon (success,failure) account mangement (success, failure), and one other, cant remember off the top of my head enabled in my domain group policy. i logged in under 5 or 6 different employee accounts, logback on to my account, then check the event log on the server. not one entry in the secuity log. i used secedit to refresh the gpo also. any ideas? its a win2k sbe server that is the dc for the domain.

you mean xp is more closely related to win2k3 sorry for being a nazi! havent tried my radeon w/ win2k3, thats got my ti4400. so im not much help
