marfig, here are the size and MD5 for SP3. Perhaps you got a bad DL. Enjoy, John. 316 MB (331,805,736 bytes) MD5 BB25707C919DD835A9D9706B5725AF58 EDIT: The SP3 file name is WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe.

marfig, when you say your CD is an OEM, do you mean a recovery CD? I assume you meant ERROR, at the end. Are you writing CDs or running your VM from the ISO image file? If you are writing a CD, perhaps the problem lies there. Try either using the ISO file, or writing the CD at the lowest speed. In general you should not try to integrate SP3 into a source that you have integrated SP2 into. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.

marfig, you did not attach your Last Session, please attach (not paste) it. I do not have a GDIPLUS.CA_ in my machine at all. I am running XP x64, so possibly there is a difference here. I do have GDIPLUS files in my ASMS01.cab, but no catalog files. Please open your file with a hex editor (I use HxD - free) and see if it is all zeros. I did a Google search and got a number of hits on GDIPLUS.CAT, some saying it was all zeros. Please do a Google (or your favorite search engine) search (search these forums also) - perhaps there is an answer there. Enjoy, John.

AGlobalThreatsK, where is this 'option' in nLite? Enjoy, John.
-
mdyter, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Also, please attach your Last Session_u.ini. This file says at the top not to post it because it contains private data. It does contain private data such as key and passwords, so please mask all private information before you attach it. DO NOT show us your key or other private information. Enjoy, John.

marfig, I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

JenniferArden, we need to see what you are doing to what, so please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Have you disabled SFC? I too alter Shell32 and have seen no problems (I'm running XP x64). I turn off SFC, then enable it after I finish my install. I think it is important to have for security. If you will look in folder SVCPACK, you will see a number of updates (KB####). Perhaps these are causing your problems. I load my Shell32 via the $OEM$\$$\System32 folder and maybe this allows me to avoid your problem. Enjoy, John.

millimo, you don't need to rename .XX_ files to .cab to expand them. Either use the expand command or an compress/decompress utility - I use 7-Zip. Enjoy, John.

famkehoopers, my curiosity got to me this afternoon, so I went to the nVidia site and DLed a 64 bit (I'm running XP x64) driver package and it turns out to be the 64 bit version of yours. I have built an ISO and am installing that on VMware Server as I type. I am glad you told me you get no error on VPC and I will also get no error. I am learning much from this, thus my curiosity. I suspect your problem is that the driver is English and your system is Nederlands (Nederland). I have extracted the driver package and I think the PhysX is really a software package that is installed along with the nVidia driver. I have run the installer (instmsi.msi) buried in the driver on my VM and it installs and uninstalls just fine. There is a switch to make it totally quiet (/qb). But I do not get the language error message - probably because my Windows is English (ENU). I think PhysX_9.09.0010_SystemSoftware.exe is the PhysX package that is run from nv4_disp.inf, but I can't figure out how. My install on my VM is past the last boot and I have receive no errors or other messages. I'll let you know what I learn as I continue to look around. Enjoy, John.

Sorry, famkehoopers, I was giving you a hard time over words. I think of slipstreaming as applying to SPs and hot fixes and integration to drivers. I have not heard of this before. Have you performed a search of this forum for possible solutions? Please post a link to the drivers, so we can take a look. I notice you are not using Fully Automatic Unattended mode. I don't think that will correct your problem, but you might give it a try. I hope you are using a virtual system (e.g., VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Server - all free)to test. Enjoy, John.

I, too support allowing business use of nLite. Windows Post Install (WPI) allows this and I think it has not presented undue problems. Thanks, nuhi for nLite and your consideration. John.
-
garrilla, you are welcome. Glad I could help. I don't understand what you are getting at in your suggestion. I also should point out that the nLite team is nuhi, the author/owner. Sending an e-mail/PM may get his attention. I am a just a user. Enjoy, John.
-
dforionstar, no it is not easy, I suspect. Please see the Install XP from USB forum. Enjoy, John.

If you will open a Run dialog (Start>Run) and enter "control userpasswords2" without the quotes, you can setup and remove autologon. If you check the box that says something like 'Users must use password and username...', then the autologon should be deleted. Enjoy, John.

roberta, great! It sound like you have things quite under control. You are welcome and enjoy, John.

Kingskawn, I hate to be the one to break it to you but the nLite EULA does not permit commercial use. There is no provision for business environments. If you will read the EULA, you will see nLite is for personal use only. It is so small, I'll post it here: Enjoy, John.

AGlobalThreatsK, how do you know? If you really started from a fresh source and ran through all the steps only once, everything you did should be there. You test your ISO, preferably on a VM, to make sure it works as you desire and contains the things you put in. However a VM will not test drivers. You can look in a folder after install (C:\Windows\NLDRV) and it will contain all drivers integrated. The NLDRV folder will be in your I386 folder after running nLite. In the Last Session.ini you posted, you included no drivers or hot fixes. Please attach your latest Last Session.ini. I just noticed you are running version 1.4.7 of nLite. Please upgrade to 1.4.9.1, the latest. Enjoy, John.

famkehoopers, how did you slipstream a driver? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.

dforionstar, glad you are in good shape. There is a forum several below this one about Windows on USB. I suggest you check it out. I tried to get my system to boot memtest86 from a USB stick with no luck. I finally decided that my BIOS was not capable of booting from a USB stick at all. I will wait to try it again when I get my new build going. Here is a simple process that claims to prove whether your machine is capable of booting from a USB Stick. It did not work for me but did on one of several machines for a friend. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.

dmcminn, I think only nuhi can explain the details, but look in winnt.sif for many changes. I think most of the tweaks and settings are in nLite.inf (compressed into NLITE.IN_). There are several HIVExxx.inf that have some changes. All of these files will be in I386 (32 bit XP).Look at the bottom of file for a note about nLite modifications. If you have a specific questions, let us know. Enjoy, John.

AGlobalThreatsK, you should not run nLite more than once against the same source. I copied my CD files/folders to a folder on my HDD and before I start an nLite session, I copy from this folder to a working folder. This assures that I don't have any left over stuff like login names. I suspect you ran nLite against an already nLited source and that is what caused your symptoms. How else would the old name be still there? Here is my admonition once again: Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
-
AGlobalThreatsK, it should be attached, not pasted, as requested in my original request. Please edit your post , erase the Last Session and attach it. Use the buttons (Browse... and UPLOAD) in the lower right corner. Thanks, John. I just noticed you are running nLite under Vista. Some report that this works OK, but others say no. Are you always starting with fresh files/folders? Enjoy, John.
-
AGlobalThreatsK, you can certainly use the Last Session or any Preset you want. What I am saying is to start with a fresh copy of your original CD files/folders. Did you not see my request for your Last Session.ini? Enjoy, John.
-
garrilla, I think you need the text mode drivers (driver-win-9.5.1.zip) at the bottom of the Driver section of this 3Ware page. You might also notice the latest version of their drivers. Please let us know how you make out. Enjoy, John.
-
garrilla, it sound like you have not included text mode drivers for the RAID files. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
