Zayne, you have it correct in your Last Session. Enjoy, John.

benji1304, I'll DL your drivers a take a look - soon, I hope. Using F6 is replaced by integrating the text mode drivers. See the note on OEM Preinstall (Unattended page) - F6 will fail if you don't disable. One of the main reasons I use nLite is to avoid using F6 to load SATA drivers and I don't disable OEM Preinstall. Sounds right to me - I'm not familiar with Autopatcher. I'm surprised to see the [NetAdapter1] and 2 in your Last Session. Please let us know how you make out. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I DLed the 64 bit version of the Intel text mode drivers and ran nLite against them. I see what you mean. Some of this in trial and error. I also tried Insert/Multiple driver folder and did not get a long list, just the one folder. I have always wondered why nLite is different from the F6 method. My build simply ask me to place the DLed files on a formatted floppy and hit F6 during install. Windows must do some of its own sorting. I suggest (in a spirit of trial/error) you try selecting the one folder via Multiple driver folder and see if that works. If it fails, it will be quick, probably saying it can't find any HDDs. Please let us hear. John.

spacevoid8, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, you need to attach your latest Last Session.ini. Did you correct your hot fix order? See this site for the correct order. Just DL and extract the file and open it with notepad. Please notice that the updates are listed top to bottom in reverse order. Enjoy, John.

aviv88, sorry, you way over my head. I suggest you post in the subject you gave a link for or PM Fernando 1 and ask what he thinks. Good luck, John.

Xeijin, I think people are hesitant to respond because you said: NLite is for personal use only (See license agreement in the nLite folder in the Program Files folder). I suspect most think you are using nLite in the business environment - I did. Hope not, but let us know and possibly we can help. Enjoy, John.

aviv88, I'm sorry, I had responded to the wrong problem. I thought you had trouble finding the install HDD. I know some have had trouble booting from a SATA CDROM, but I don't know why. I will do some looking and I encourage you to do some searching here. I do not understand the question about the .REG file. If you can't boot your CD, a .REG file will do you no good. Please explain if I have misunderstood again. Enjoy, John.

benji1304, it looks like your board has two SATA/RAID controllers and two text mode drivers, Intel ICH9R/ICH10R Driver (Preinstall driver) and GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver (Preinstall driver). I see you have included the GIGABYTE one. This is correct if you are going to install on a HDD attached to this controller. In my last post I should have mentioned F6 during install. It does not matter where the text mode driver is in your driver list. Your Last Session looks OK, but no hot fixes? I noticed you (and many others) specify several NIC parameters. I think if you read the help on that tab (? in circle) you will see this really does nothing unless you have a MAC address. I use this option and discovered (as others have) that DHCP is defeated. I got past this by specifying an IP address of 0.0.0.0. This resulted in a error in the setuperr.log in the Windows folder after installation, but I have DHCP back. Enjoy, John.

benji1304, I have read here (Fernando 1, I think), that for text mode drivers, the last one to be put in place is the only one that will be used. This means you need to install only the text mode driver for the file (and RAID if used) that you will actually install on. A text mode driver is distinguished by a file name txtsetup.oem in the driver folder. The drivers to be used after installed are selected by Windows by ID that completely points to the drive model/manufacturer/etc. Enjoy, John.

benji1304, I always start with a fresh copy of my CD files/folders. I copied the CD to a folder and copy from there to a working folder when I want to run nLite. You can get away with having WMP11 integrated into the source, but not it and some more stuff. I don't even do that. Since a couple of releases ago, nLite runs WMP11 Slipstreamer and you can place the installer into the Hot Fix area. I suggest you start with a fresh source folder but use you old preset (Last Session) and go into each section and make the changes you need. You can check and uncheck options, add/delete drivers/hot fixes, and make any changes you like. I see some problems in your Last Session. WMP11 installer is last in your Hot Fix section and it needs to be placed before any updates to it. The same goes for all updates - they need to be in release order. I also see Directx9. I suspect this will not integrate as it does not in XP x64 (I run). I also don't see any text mode drivers, which are needed if you are going to install on a RAID or SATA file. Enjoy, John.

aviv88, I assume you built your CD with nLite? Did you include text mode drivers. Please take a look at this post and please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

OK, Kelsenellenelvian, please tell us how to re-add keyboard languages. Thanks, John.
-
Xeijin, DX9 is not included in the latest SP for XP x64 (SP2), and I assume that is also true for XP. Enjoy, John.
-
Angelico_Payne, I don't think both start at once. Based on my observation, all the nLite stuff is completed when the RunOnce exit is taken. I see a command window appear and can watch my items in the run. Can you see the SP1 installer running? Do you have Show updates checked in Add/Remove? In my exit, I install .NET 3.5 (why are you using the old one?) plus 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 (I'm running XP x64). All show up in Add/Remove. The funny thing is .NET does not. Enjoy, John.

cdram, based on experience of others posting here, replacing removed components, including languages, requires a rebuilt and reinstall. Enjoy, John.

benji1304, since your VM does not really include the hardware, Windows did not install any of your drivers and as g-force said, you can test drivers only on real hardware. However, nLite places all the drivers in the NLDRV folder in the WINDOWS folder in your installed system and they can be found in the same folder in you I386 install folder. If we are to help you with your others problems, we need to see more information, so please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, the file you pointed me to does not have a /integrate:path switch so it can't be integrated. You can install it out of the RunOnce exit of Unattended section using the /Q switch for a quiet install. If you will run the file you have in a command prompt with the /? switch, you can see the available switches. I also run VMware Server, so give me some details (screen shot) and I'll see if I can help. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, sorry about the WMP11 Slipstreamer. I see a copy of it in my nLite folder in Program files folder and assume it would run from there, but, not so. So please install it and then nLite will process your WMP11 installer. I can't find a DL for the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool. Please post a link so I can DL it and see about how it works. Thanks, John.

Aylen, I have no clue. I would use the RunOnce exit in the unattended section. See this. Enjoy, John.

Creating workgroup name and inability of custom resolution sticking
johnhc replied to videobruce's topic in nLite
videobruce, I should have also said that my display resolution always works. On the Display tab of Unattended section, it says that for the resolution to take effect, the display drivers must be installed during installation. I have no suggestions for you. I hope you are using a virtual system, so you can run various configurations to isolate the problem. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John. -
Creating workgroup name and inability of custom resolution sticking
johnhc replied to videobruce's topic in nLite
videobruce, when strange symptoms like yours appear, it is usually because one of the basic rules has been violated. Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I define a work group and have never had a problem with it. The only comment I can make about your .ini files is one is large with SP3 and the other small with SP0. Enjoy, John. -
grominnetto, you give us zero information and we can return zero answers. You do have a problem. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, the .NET is OK if there are no updates to it in the section - always put updates in order released my MS, starting at the top with the first after the your last SP. Curious, why are you not including SP3? I should have said that nLite simply detects the WMP11 installer and runs WMP11 Slipstreamer. This feature was added a couple of releases ago. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, you are pushing way too hard. Unsigned Themes Support (Uxtheme patch) is simply the name of the option as shown in the screen shot from g-force. We are trying to tell you to Enable this option and see what results you get. Also, WMP11 Slipstreamer is built into nLite and you only need to place the WMP11 installer into the hot fix section. The option is grayed out in g-force's shot because he is running a Preset and a source that already has the option selected and nLite is telling him so. A quick look at your hot fixes shows the installer for IE7 last. I suspect your hot fixes are not in order. Usually the IE7 installer is first, but it at least must be followed by any IE7 updates. I also suspect this is the source of your strange behavior not the option. But, you should still use the option in case one or more of your themes are not signed. To save making coasters, I recommend a virtual system such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server - all free. Enjoy, John.

Zayne, did you enable Unsigned Themes Support (Uxtheme patch) under Options-Patches? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
