  1. Download and install the cool'n'quiet driver from amd. http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Techni...1_11686,00.html
  2. Raid0 felt slower to me when loading games. It might have been faster on benchmarks but it just seemed to take forever for anything to load up with a 64k stripe. Single drive was faster. What really helped more than anything was the bump to 2gb ram
  3. I moved from 1gb to 2gb and black & white 2 and sims 2 load faster and dont lag thrashing the hard drive anymore. Some people say it's overkill but i say the more the better. Also it's good to have if you use vmware alot.
  4. Good point. Maybe the AV companies are paying virus writers off so their products sell? Something to think about.
  5. Try disabling creative taskbar if it's running if you installed that when you installed the audigy drivers. Also scan for malware/spyware.
  6. I see these commercials on G4 all the time about the rich jerk and I went to the site to look around. Is it real or is it just one of G4's weird joke skits? I believe it's a scam myself IF it's real. The Rich Jerk
  7. I'm not on a laptop BUT thanks to your info i did figure it out, the amd athlon 64 driver for xp throttles the cpu like a laptop and upon removal sure enough it runs like it's supposed to. Thanks for the idea!

    Build 2600

What a way to talk to the mods eh?
  9. I got the last of my parts in the other day so my box is complete after 4 months of saving money to order here and there. Last of the parts were the ram, cathodes, and sata adapters for my old ata drives. Removed the 80gig drive and added the audigy gamer from my old computer. Also gave the logitech mx1000 to my wife, i never could get used to it. Put my dvdrw in external enclosure to use on different computers. This computer should last me a few years till i build a new one for vista after it's been out a while Final pictures sorry about the crap quality, my nikon 2200 isnt up to par anymore: Specs: Antec Super LANBoy ThermalTake 430W PSU Abit Fatal1ty AN8 OEM Athlon64 3400+ 2.2GHZ @ 2.5GHZ CPU-Z Validation ThermalTake CL-P0200 939 Silent Copper Heatpipe OCZ EL Platinum 2x1024MB @ 232Mhz 2.5-3-2-5 EVGA Geforce 6800 GS CO SE 256mb PCI-E x16 @ 475/1100 Seagate 250GB SATA150 Seagate 200GB ATA100 w/ Syba SATA to ATA133 adapter Lite-On DVD-ROM 16x Pioneer DVR-110D in USB/Firewire Enclosure Creative Audigy Gamer PCI M$ Keyboard Logitech LX5 Wireless Optical Mouse and X-Trac Pro HS mousepad Belkin Nostromo n50 USB Belkin USB LED light so I can see keyboard with lights out
  10. So basicly it'd probably be good to change it out say every six months? I really dont want it to dry cause i killed a celeron by pulling it out with a stuck sink on it broke pins off the cpu not that it was a big loss it was a celery chip afterall but this is my athlon64 we talking about.
  11. Hu-cards!! Neutopia owned on tg16 woot!
  12. It's people like you who ruin the game for yourself. You just jump right in, do the Main Quest and go back to a FPS to headshot people and scream "PWNED!" This is the kind of game that is meant to be played slowly and patiently, absorb everything, take in the scenery, develop your character, buy a house, make thousands, get some wicked weaponry and armor... geez.. pffftt.... i finished the dark brotherhood AND the theives guild before the main quest not to mention tons of other quests non faction related. read my other posts. I despise FPS btw, i prefer rpg and rts.
  13. Yes, Even unreal gold with the final patch runs the same. I've found it runs fine on a 1.3ghz celeron in software mode so i'm assuming it's either the graphics card or the cpu.
  14. Thats uber cool. Pricey but cool. One question tho, it says it's aimed at notebook users but why? "Aimed at the hardcore notebook user, it enabled the connection of two monitors to a single VGA port, allowing notebook users the luxury of dual screen computing". Most laptops have a vga port where you can hook up dual monitors anyway. I had dual screens (Built in LCD + External LCD) on my inspiron 8200 couple years ago so i dont get what they are saying
  15. I just got sent to jail and after i got out a dunmer woman gave me a note with the info. Thats how i got in. Guess there are different ways.
  16. I finished the main quest..... awesome battle at the end... now it seems so empty.... need expansions.... now!
  17. I try to stick to one emu myself, the one being FCE Ultra. BUT some roms only work right in different emus so you pretty much have to use different ones. Anyway it's nice to see the emulator scene is still alive
  18. 30 in june... I'll officaly be an old fart
  19. I dont like it but it's just one of those needed things for some sites like noaa.gov you cant view radar loops without it.
  20. PC: XP Pro SP2 iMac: OSX 10.2.8
  21. IPCop is easy to setup as well, it's based off smoothwall (source, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SmoothWall). I prefer ipcop myself. Also dont overlook m0n0wall http://m0n0.ch/wall/
  22. Didnt use the cleaner. Bought a thermaltake silent heatpipe solution and thats the temps that are reported in speedfan with an athlon64 3400+ & abit fatal1ty a8n. By looking at the temps you'll probably say that the cpu temp isnt right because of the other temps being higher. I tested it with a full load and the cpu temp is the only one that rises up to around 30c. The other temps only rise by 1 or 2 degrees. I checked the heatsink and it's cold to the touch, wish i could say the same for the nforce chip, it's rather warm as is my geforce. I always just thought the temp reports were off but it says the same in the uguru and bios so i dunno. Running the latest bios.
