Is it completely free and not loaded with rootkit starforce copy protection? If not i'm all for it. I bought the first trackmania for 5 bux new at big lots and could never play it cause of the protection and spybot hated that driver it installed. Guess i should check for a patch.

I still havent done any of the main quest yet. I've been too busy with the dark brotherhood and becoming a vampire heh

Is there something like this out there for free? I've looked at all the above mentioned and they all cost money, an open source one would be nice.

The thing you have to realize about reviews is that they aren't all created equal. Another thing to keep in mind is that they may not have turned the card up to it's maximum possible settings for a given resolution. For instance, if they benchmarked it at 1024x768x32-bit color with 2X FSAA and 8X AF and it was beating the 6800GS by a decent margin, then it's possible that you can turn the FSSA up to 4X and AF up to 16X and still get the same frame rates as the 6800GS...but you have better image quality. Don't put so much stock into the frame rates anymore. You also have to remember that the 7x00 series has several new Antialiasing methods that the 6x00 series doesn't. The thing is though i've never used fsaa and af and whatever and never have except for one time i tried on my old geforce 4 and it made everything blurry and lagged like you wouldnt believe. I normally turn those off in the nvidia control panel and slide the image quality slider to preformance and my games still look good. I just know the 6800GS i have now hauls in comparison to the old geforce 4 and radeon 9200 I had long ago. I just didnt realize at the time i ordered my card that a 7600gt could be had for 20 dollars more or I'd have gotten that instead.

Thats a really cool player! I love how small it is, makes it nice and portable. Only one problem... the skins and interface are horrible :/

From looking at those reviews and taking into consideration that i only play games at 1024 since i only have a 17" monitor, I'm sticking with my new 6800GS for a while. Evga was out of stock on the 7600gt i was going to step up to anyway and besides i heard you get a refurbished card back. I will however upgrade to a 76 or a 78/79 when income tax time comes around next year Judging from the reviews on newegg the 7600gt doesnt overclock that well not that it really matters to me anyway. I usually dont overclock i just pay a bit extra to get the superclocked versions. @theubergeek I'd go for the 7600GT. Save up some cash and get that. You'll be happy cause it's really what i should have got instead of a 6800GS.... :/

I have this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...187054&CatId=24 and I love it. Makes use of those empty floppy ports and i get 2 devices in one. It doesnt have usb ports on it but my case has two on the front already so no need and it just connects to the usb headers on the motherboard and doesnt hog a usb port.

Would the 7600GT preform better than my 6800GS? If so i'll just put in for evga's stepup and get it. I started to get that to begin with but everyone told me the 6800 was the best bang for the buck so thats what i got....

Google Desktop will put a search into the taskbar but not the start menu although i dont trust goole to search my computer. I've never seen anything that would put a search on the start menu but after vista comes out i'm sure someone will want that feature for their copy of xp if they havent upgraded and code a start menu search.

The network part is easy, just pick up a cheap pcmcia 10/100 card from newegg http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCateg...?SubCategory=34 or ebay whichever you prefer. The hard drive will be a bit trickier as that laptop is pretty old. I doubt it'll see anything past 8gb due to the bios but the type you'll need is a 2.5". Maybe someone else knows tho?

You cant beat seagate's 5 year warranty tho. They make good quiet and reliable replacements for those old ibm death stars (Joke intended)

I had the same problem as well. At the time i had an uber crappy nforce2 mobo and it turned out the pauses and lags were due to the sw_ide driver. Go figure i guess. I got tired of the crap and bought the xbox version I would have gotten oblivion on xbox 360 but i dont have the money for the console and the game both besides i sunk all my money into building a good computer to last me a few years. I havent had a good computer since back in 2001 :/

I finally got it a couple days ago. Been playing 20 hours into it. Havent done any of the main quest except for taking that gem to the dude. Been doing odd quests and joining guilds. Finished the arena and working on dark brotherhood now. Runs pretty good on my 6800GS. Lags a bit in some places where alot of things are going on butwho cares, this game is my all time favorite now. Didnt think i'd like it better than morrowind but i do! Make sure you get the latest graphics drivers from nvidia (84.25) as they "claim" it adds tweaks for oblivion.

I havent even seen a virus since back in the day when kazaa was big before the riaa. Folks on the network at work let all kinds of trash loose from there.

Last i checked the 360 only had a 20 gig hard drive with a 40 gig addon you can buy. Thats not higer capacity vs the 250gb and 200gb drives i have in my computer. They even make 500gb drives. If you are refering to differences between the original xbox and the 360 then yeah it's a higher capacity.

I tried clevercache server edition on a server with win 2k3 and it seemed like it made it slower. Just download a trial version and check it out.

Did you make sure you hooked the cables to the usb header correctly? Check and make sure its not on backwards.
