  1. ZipGenius (zipgenius.it) is a full-featured archive program that's free and can handle ISO files (I think).
  2. can you set the read-only status in the properties dialog?
  3. Here's the specifics, tell me if I'm wrong: The Digital Signature tab will load OK, but the More Details (or something like that) button will that cause a lot of hd activity.
  4. you need to do a search in your windows folder. There may be more copies of the file. @Redondos: I've used the file included here for a while without problems: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23719
  5. It might help if you set the user as guest and use the group policy editor to resrict the actions. On the program side, there's a good browser called Public Web Browser that's designed for internet cafes and such.
  6. oops, forgot a backslash http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/
  7. NVM, HP printer software installer, in my experience, always extracts to a temp directory when starting to install. It shouldn't be that hard to kinda repack it.
  8. if you really need to squeeze the last megabyte out of your CD. slipstream on the original. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter that much, but personally, I always like to start clean.
  9. did you try to start the program it's supposed to run? That usually get the program to associate the file extension.
  10. By the way, did Symantec get that SP2 patch out yet?
  11. something to do with big flash files, perhaps?
  12. BTW, I wasn't very clear on how to replace the files if you're doing it on a installed sp2 system so here is it: use expand filename.xx_ filename.xxx on all the files and then search your windows directory for the files. There should be 3 copies for each file. Don't worry if you only have one copy. Then use Replacer: http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ to replace all the files. Read the replacer readme file first! Remember: These files are for Windows XP Service Pack 2 Final (Build 2180) ONLY! Make sure you expanded the files before you replace them or things can get a bit messy. YOU MUST USE TERMSRV.REG IN COMBINATION WITH THE TERMSRV FILE OR IT WILL NOT WORK!
  13. you forgot the "recommended" updates - as you will see, because of the lack of recommended patch Q4930322, the dials are slightly uneven, may cause the "light reflux error".
  14. this looks promising: Access Boss™ - Restrict and limit user logon time
  15. wait! Opon installing, the program wants to install to a folder called "Mydriver" I read on halfdone.com that my driver is acutally a rip of a freeware of WinDriverBackup. The author of My Driver actually ripped another program too: http://www.halfdone.com/SOTW/UnknownDevicesRip/ EDIT: The author of WinDriverBackup seems to have sold it to another company...
  16. ahhh...The driver backup feature is the one I've been looking for to get all my updated drivers in the cd.
  17. *wonders if it could happen if Windoze was using the Linux Kenel* Then again, M$ would never do such a thing.
  18. btw, where did you get that theme?
  19. Dingle Bell, Dingle Bell, Dingle All the day..... 1 not-guest super-mod to pholiocize 1 forum meber to misspell a hard word 1 super-mod to say that we should remain "professional" 1 admin to close the "bad" thread 1 admin to open it up to post to say that it's closed and then close it again 1 Id10tic mod to "accidentally" open it yp again 1 know-it-all to say that that "up" is misspelled 1 Corrections Canada officer to jail the dummy, only to be criticized on jailing the wrong person
  20. and I found out the hard way (well, not that bad) that the hacked uxtheme needs to be replaced if that's what you're doing.
  21. hope the AU doesn't start downloading when your downloading a giant illegal torrent
