  1. *laughs* I was thinking that actually, but I also use the network to install programs on her computer. Basically everything I need to do on her computer I cna pull off mine. =\
  2. Did you check local computer policy, by default blank passwords are not allowed.. How do I go about doing this?
  3. Yeap. I've tried leaving it blank and tried logging in as me, but no go.
  4. My sister was attempting to look at some of my music on my computer, but was unable to view the files. This issue started up after I did a clean install of WinXP with SP2 on my machine. At first I was thinking issues with me running SP2 and her running SP1 with all the hotfixes, but I wasn't sure. I checked and rechecked everything and decided to do a clean install on her computer as well, but that hasn't helped either. The first instance when I was unable to connect to my computer from her's, a dialog box popped up asking for a user name and password. After doing a clean install on her machine, I now get it trying to connect to her computer from mine. I turned on the guest accounts just out of curiousity and the dialog boxes don't come up, but now I get a error message saying that I might now have access rights. The firewall is disabled on both machines. Is there something I'm not catching here? If you need more info then just ask. I'm stumped.
  5. WMP is set to play all media files except those not supported by it and MP3s for me. Everytime the "Open With" box popped up, I would always choose to open it WMP from now on, but that never fixed the issue before. The only was I fixed it was to delete every instance (though you probably don't have to) of LegacyDisable found in my registry.
  6. I did what greenmachine said to do and just went through and deleted every one that I found and it fixed my problem.
  7. I ran a search and found a s*** load of'em. Do I need to delete each one of them or is there a certain one I need to delete?
  8. Tried that just now and I get the same thing.
  9. I get the issue even with MS Format =(
  10. I use WMP9 for my video files and Winamp for my audio. This only happens with Video files.
  11. Everytime I try to open a media file (mpeg, wmv, etc.), windows xp always pops up the "Open With" dialog box. This just recently started happening with the new installation of SP2. Has anyone else had this problem?
  12. Alright, I've tried a search and no luck. I'm hoping someone on the forums might know how I can add Domain Groups to the Adminstrator group. The only steps that I know that I must take so far is that I have to join my computer to the Domain first and then login to the domain, but there in lies the problem. After I join the domain, will I log into the domain on my first auto login or will it log me into the workstation only? Also, I can't figure out for the life of me how to add a domain group either!
  13. I've done a search on the forums, but no luck. I'm working on an unattended install for work and what I want to do is create 2 users and add them to the admin group, but afterwards I want to add to network groups into the admin group also. When I do this by hand, I have to login to the network and then add the group to the admin group. Is there a way to do this?
