  1. [continued] and a number of the other available system "analyzers" (such as BELARC Advisor)
  2. I'm running with an unhacked tcpip.sys system with SP2 applied for a while now w/o any FTP problems. It's probably a program issue or some system problem. What FTP program do you use? I'm using SmartFTP on a system with a unhacked tcpip.sys file without any problems. P.S. The file difference might be because of the ModifyPE headers I applied so that Setup doesn't complain when used on a CD. @scankurban: You probably can, but you might need to get help in the unattended forums since I have no experience what-so-ever with the hive files.
  3. From what I know, the USB port seems to be powered even if the computer is off as long as the PSU is connected and turned on. @XtremeMac: Optical mice always glow no matter what (unless it's not plugged in, of course ) It's just a difference between the standby glow and the active "brighter glow"
  4. http://rinkworks.com/stupid/cs_online.shtml You'll laugh to your extent. <snip> also see: techcomedy.com - Tech Support Comedy. Where, there's jokes, and just plain lame (hit-head-on-wall) TS stuff.
  5. Who has enough time to compile a nice, neat, colourful (jk) chart of people who have gmail already? Nobody? Oh, that's too bad....send me a invite at emailaddress@gmail.com P.S. I sent myself an invite and Google says the invite link is already used?!?!
  6. alright...I got a couple of invites. Standard rules apply
  7. OFF-TOPIC: @maxXPsoft: where did you get that quote from(in your sig)?
  8. search on google for a generic CD boot image. EDIT: Found this: http://old.bink.nu/xpbootcd/ Click on the download boot sector link @Simonsays: Isn't IsoBuster already freeware? EDIT2: BTW, the above link also has a guide for making a XP setup CD.
  9. Use an optimized build for your cpu might help. Search the MozillaZine Forums (they actually have a build section for this kind of stuff) There should be both FF and TB custom builds available
  10. headachy for me. Sure, my apps work and it's pretty good, but the "security" features in IE (read: yellow bar) is annoying enough to give me a headache. Yellow bar to headache conversion chart: 5 Yellow bars in an hour: irritated 10: very irritated 15: I'm banging on the desk ......... I basically turned the yellow bars to a minimum (no Mr.Yellow for popups)
  11. @newuser: the patch is only required if you want to use the termsrv file. @]Bonkers[: download the file pack at the bottom of the first post. The direct links are only for if you want the files seperately. Please note that you need to download the attached reg file too if you want to use the termsrv file. @morgoth: they're different because I used better compression. @orson_pl: I don't think it really matters where you load the reg file. However, you might want to apply it with your other reg tweaks. Note: Always overwite the files in i386.
  12. *sigh of relief* I had this problem too a while back (Pre-SP2). The problem with my network card was that the power supply wasn't giving enough power. What are your PSU specs?
  13. sorry for being slow to respond; yes, you do it at the dos prompt. While most of my files are from Zaheer's pack, the orginal (Zaheer's) is missing several files.
  14. well, if nLite works, then you don't really have a imediate problem. Might just be a quirky windows installation (aren't they all? ).
  15. Dust? *gets a image of giant evil dust bunnies (yes, the literal kind) in head*
  16. -removed because of unintintional post---

Otherwise, search for it in your windows folder and replace all the files you find (should be around 3 or less) with this program: www3.telus.net/_/replacer
