  1. nLite has nothing to do with it. Windows XP will outrun Vista on your machine for sure.
  2. If you can use the software 50 times, that sounds more than enough to know if it's useful or not. This topic is over two years old by the way...
  3. Yes, but Windows Defender can run on Windows XP as well, so this information is also useful for unattended Windows XP installations.
  4. [DiskConfig]? Never heard of it and cannot find it mentioned in ref.chm either. Are you sure that you're not mistaken?
  5. Thank you for your reply. I'm trying it a bit differently now after reading ref.chm; I have removed OEMPreinstall = Yes completely from my WINNT.SIF, as well as OEMSkipWelcome = 1, and I will give it a try now.
  6. Or grab Shortcut.exe, which is freeware, and which you can use from your Batch file to create shortcuts. I always use it
  7. RegShot, which is a simple to use, freeware tool, can monitor the Registry for you and will report changed keys and values.
  8. Click here.
  9. The correct syntax for the RD command is: RD /S /Q path Please note the spaces. I wouldn't delete a whole folder if I were you if it's not completely necessary. Deleting the contents of the Recent folder for example is enough, so why delete the folder? Wondering about this, why would you even want to delete the contents of your Recent folder? During an unattended setup nothing is opened, so nothing is added to it, so why even bothering to delete anything in it if there is nothing in it at all? Same goes for your Temporary Internet Files, there's nothing in it, so why even try to delete it's contents? Also, why kill the Explorer process? And what do you mean by "noname"? You're always logged in as something.
  10. I've created a new unattended Windows XP setup. The only unattended part, which I left unattended on purpose, is the part where you can create a new partition, format, et cetera. Once all the files are copied to the disk during the text mode part of the setup process, the GUI-part of the installlation kicks in as normal. This should be fully unattended, but at the start here I get to see a window where I have to click Next to continue: "Welcome to the Windows XP Setup Wizard". I want this installation to be unattended, besides being able to choose where to install, et cetera, so I would like to get rid of this "Welcome to the Windows XP Setup Wizard" window. But how? Help!
  11. Load the theme which you want to use and change the background to the image which you want. Save the theme. Copy all the required files to your installation disc. Call the theme from your WINNT.SIF file as written at the unattended section of this web site.
  12. No problem here at all integrating WMP11 with WMP11 Integrater.
  13. Hit F8 during boot up repeatedly until you get a choices menu. Restore the Last Known Good.

  16. Can you clarify what you mean by "unique default profile setting"?
  17. You probably had CD selected then instead of DVD
  18. You could have people listen to your music via voice chat as well; the music which leaves your speakers is picked up by your microphone and transferred... but you can understand that the sound quality of this is bad You would need to stream your music online, but this has nothing to do with Windows Live Messenger. I believe you can stream files using Winamp or an additional tool from their web site. Anyway, I believe you need to stream your music online... Google on that should give enough hints to get you going.
  19. %UserProfile% refers to the profile of the logged in user. If you're logged in with the Administrator account, %UserProfile% will refer to this profile.

You could add the files to your HFEXPERT folder or create an $OEM$ folder. See the HFSLIP web site for more details, as well as the unattended section on this web site.
  21. I believe you should rename your topic to reflect your problem better and have the topic moved to the nLite section of the forum. You're experiencing an OOBE problem with nLite in combination with DriverPacks. I can't help you with nLite I'm afraid, but always integrate DriverPacks as the last step in your whole process of creating an unattended installation. I use HFSLIP myself and this problem does not occur than.
  22. Make a silent installation package which installs Spybot - Search & Destroy, afterwhich it executes the latest includes-file. spybotsd_includes.exe /S
  23. Works in my virtual machine though. Is LClock installed properly? Run the installer and add the registry key again: LC162b.exe /S
  24. Sorry, no time to reply, playing PONG.
  25. "Symantec AntiVirus.msi" RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn Followed by... COPY /Y *.xdb "%AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\" ... to update the definitions using the latest XDB-file should do the trick I believe.
