  1. http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-windows-10-for-pcs-hits-rtm-sources/ UPDATE: This is actually RTM Escrow pretty darn close! So we are all agreeing that it seems it is currently 10240 and not 10124. Cheers and Regards
  2. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174062-the-windows-10-rtm/?p=1102760 Cheers and Regards
  3. Yep, AFAIK, DriverPacks should be the last thing done before making the ISO. ( Except perhaps some manual file/folder manipulation.) Cheers and Regards
  4. USB 2.0 vs 3.0 is a disadvantage, but depending on what you plan to use it for it could be fine. It is a good price. Cheers and Regards
  5. The most reliable way to post images on this and almost any forum is to upload your images to the free image hosting service of your choice, such as TinyPic. To place the image where you want while you are editing or creating your post, position the cursor where you want the image to appear, click the "Image" button in the menu of the edit box, and insert the link to your image. Your image should appear instantly. This works on all forums that I am aware of. Cheers and Regards
  6. No disrespect intended, but just because that is what you want doesn't mean that you will be able to do it, no matter how much you insist that is the only thing you are interested in. Even though this thread has existed for over a year, no one has been able to come up with a useful suggestion for you. I suppose that those games might be able to be run if installed in a VM of XP, but again you insist that you only want to run them natively. ( You have been borderline belligerent about it. ) You might be forced to reluctantly admit defeat and take up a different game or a different OS. Cheers and Regards
  7. In my opinion, Noel's point was more about what might happen vs what will happen. IF it does come to pass, then as long as you keep in touch at least occasionally with forums such as this one, then the word will get to you that that is the case and you can un-hide and install those updates and everything will be OK with your system once again. I tend to take the more cautionary approach that dencorso espouses. I haven't had any issues so far, and I don't expect to. If I do, I'll deal with the issue then. Just my two cents. Cheers and Regards
  8. As a fellow Drag and Drop user from way back, I'm curious why it doesn't still work in Windows 10. Talk about removing a basic capability, that seemingly could still be useful in touch mode. So keeping in mind that I've never used Windows 10, or any Windows 8.x+ OS, this info below is strictly from reading ... I guess playing with the folder options, such as explained here, just changes the default File Explorer open mode from Quick Access to This PC, and prevents recent files and frequent folders from being added, right? But what about also using this method in addition, which seems to remove the Quick access root in the navigation pane? Is that what you have tried before? What negative side effects did it cause? ( None were mentioned in the article. ) There are also several other tutorials listed at the bottom of that article for adding or removing other things from File Explorer. Very, very curious. EDIT: LOL, Before posting, I read all the comments to the tutorial and discovered that you did indeed check out this method, as recently as yesterday in fact, and had a conversation with the author that confirmed that this method does not solve the Drag and Drop problem. I'll go ahead and post this anyway, just for completeness in case others are curious. As Brink the tutorial author stated, "At least we can still cut/copy and paste to navigation pane for now." That seems workable, just as the method of dhjohns does, but it does not seem as quick and intuitive as Drag and Drop is, at least to me. Maybe if there was some way to automate things so that this was done every time that a File Explorer window was started or opened? Cheers and Regards
  9. That wasn't new. I can do that on Windows 7. Cheers and Regards

    Bleem!

I have no experience with that program or that type of program, but not directly, according to the current Wiki: emphasis mine So, unless you know something I don't, or you could operate it in a VM under Windows 7, though trying to run a game on an emulator on a VM under Windows 7 seems silly and very inefficient,... Cheers and Regards
  11. I just tried the link on Win7 Ultimate x64 using a version of Chrome and got: We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. with https://, but it worked fine with http://. Same was true when I tried SlimBrowser. Cheers and Regards
  12. @Noel, You might want to recheck the link you provided, or am I missing something? ( wikipedia "Don" -- don't get the Google motto connection, unless you meant some kind of godfather reference???? ) Cheers and Regards
  13. This is primarily an English forum, so please post in English, or at least provide a translation, everywhere in this forum except those sections that are dedicated to other languages. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. In the meantime, from Google translate: Cheers and Regards
  14. I'm not familiar with the game, but unless the above was a typo, did you by chance mistakenly get an initial space, " ", in your folder name that the installer doesn't like? What, EXACTLY, did you try to use as your installation directory, what, EXACTLY, was the path to the installation source, did you try to install with a command line or did you just double-click on "install", etc. Cheers and Regards
  15. I know. I just didn't want you to think no one saw your post. Cheers and Regards
  16. Sorry, I'm not familiar with QMS or anything you could use to meet your friend's needs. Cheers and Regards
  17. Thanks! As dencorso and others have mentioned, here's hoping that v4 will include the ability to select which of the Windows 10 related updates listed here that the user would like removed, killed where appropriate, and hidden so you won't be bothered by them again. Cheers and Regards
  18. I guess this is their way of making sure that you really, really, really meant to get rid of those "lovely" and "useful" tiles, I mean, why would you possibly want anything other than those tiles that take up most of your desktop? Cheers and Regards
  19. I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all, but I'm confused as to what the current point of this thread is. It started by asking whether a web page could change the system clock, then progressed to a discussion about cryptography methods that are based on the system clock, and now mentioning what the default behavior for the system clock is when the system's battery is run down or empty. From the lack of responses, except that of Trip and jaclaz, it doesn't seem that anyone knows for sure whether it is possible today for a web page to change the system clock or not. Is that still what you are trying to find out? Or, if it is possible, are you trying to find out how to prevent it? Or, if you can't prevent it, are you trying to find out how to safeguard encrypted files from being broken anyway? And I'm not sure which OS this could impact, or is that yet another question you are trying to resolve? I'm confused as to whether you are looking for an answer to some question, or if you are just trying to raise awareness of this possible method of attack so that some kind of block for it can be developed, or what? Cheers and Regards
  20. Hmmmm. That looks strangely familiar and similar to http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/172826-windows-10-first-impressions/page-16#entry1096774: Perhaps great minds thing alike? But not to worry. It's true enough to be worth repeating. Cheers and Regards
  21. Jody, FYI, for those of us that visit the site via the "View New Content" links, it doesn't make any difference at all where this thread is located, since threads are displayed in "last post" date order. I'm also not familiar enough with Outlook.com to provide any help, but I just wanted to reassure you that your posts have been seen. Cheers and Regards
  22. Well, from the other link jaclaz provided, it seems that GNAURAL currently cannot "convert my affirmations into like binaural beats", it can only generate binaural beats, as jaclaz explained, but the conversion has been posted as a feature request. But I do agree that the OP needs to read the referenced manuals to see what is currently possible with those two examples of free software. I'm also quite curious what he meant by "a enhancement such liver". Cheers and Regards
  23. I like that! simple, creative, easy to organize, etc. It extends the "desktop" metaphor. Thanks for sharing! Cheers and Regards
  24. Normally, the functioning of software can be described as: input > software > output If I try to figure out what he means from the first post I get: input == "my voice" output == "know as binaural beats or water drops or any sound is similar to that sound" and the software is supposed to convert the input to the output, where I assume his voice is input into the software using either microphone input or redirected from an audio file of some kind. In this case, like jaclaz, I also have no clue what he means by his description of the output. I also have no idea what "brainwaves" have to do with anything here since neither EEG or anything else that could collect them have been mentioned. I'm so confused I don't even know what else to ask. I'm just totally lost. Cheers and Regards
