Well it must be a mistake on the site that the 2800 is a thoroughbred... Must be a Barton then. Well i think i will go with a 2800+ Barton then, as it performs alot better than the Thoroughbreds. The mobo i will be using is my original, Gigabyte 7VA-X mobo, which can support 333Mhz FSB and everything else me thinks. As its different to my 2400+ 266Mhz FSB will i need to change anything on my mobo as im moving to a 33Mhz FSB (the Barton). (Never done a CPU change with different FBS ). Cheers, Flash.

I'd say best bet is to try to re-install again, but i don't know alot about Win 2k3 so wait till others post help and advice on the subject

Hello, i havent posted here in a while, been busy at school with exams etc, some of you may remember me though Anyways, its that time again and im upgrading my system... Thing is i would like to know the difference between a Barton CPU and Thoroughbred, im looking particulary at the 2800+ CPU, both Barton and Thoroughbred have different clock speeds but same FSB. Is the Barton version of this CPU taking over the thoroughbred version, as both are not always listed on sites... Help appreciated lads, cheers, Flash. (I will update my specs in my sig as they changed, lol). Ta.

Capped connections are poor... If you go over the amount they specify then they turn the speed of your connection to 56k, how lame is that, but at least it will be a fast 56k

Hmmmm, i installed Service Pack 1 today, but yet i dont have a new msn messenger, i still have Messenger 4.7, no new updated it either... Windows Media Player is still not updated either... My ISP is BT Openworld ADSL 512k/256k (normally get around that when i do a speed test) Support aint bad but apprently i blew one of my DSL cards at my telephone exchange (knocked other users cards out too, lmao) so had to wait over a week for a new one but got compensation for that... Generally find them good, i got a small prob on my line apparently but when i leave it for a hour it comes back on, they fixing it apparently.
