  2. Unbelievable system for your first time building one.I have built about 30 systems for people and 5 for myself along with many upgrades but you went balls to the wall with the quality. And nice pictures, maybe Fthr Jack has got something there about everyone posting up pics of the building of a system as well as maybe pics of already built systems.
  3. Isn't it odd that M$ doesn't support Aspi. Then Adaptec says not to install on Win XP and M$ directs you to that site.Well as long as it works.I'll note that.
  4. Primary.....30GB Seagate Baracuda ATA 7200rpm Secondary....Creative 52x cd rom MASTER LiteOn 32/12/40 CDRW SLAVE The CDRW manufacturer recommended this master slave setup with the cd rom.I have just read an article that making the CDRW the master will boost the reliability of the write features.Anyone have any other data or knowledge about this?

  9. I just recently added some system info to my signature and it looks a little bulky. How can I copy and paste this to a link in this forum?.Can I simply use my boomspeed site as I do with my desktops?Or is there an easier way?.Thanks ..................Zipp
  10. I have had other device drivers not working or no driver installed and it was the modem's audio device.Check to see if the unimodem audio device is present in the sound, video and game controllers section of the device mngr. Also if you have a RAID MOBO and you are not using it disable it in the bios(in this case look in the SCSI and Raid controller branch to see if something showed up there as well).Sometimes the modem audio device drivers are located as an .inf file in a different location on your modem installation CD.It's pretty tedious working out yellow question marks but one of your devices(cards, peripherals, ide components)has another output driver. For example I installed the new video drivers for my Radeon DDR vivo and an other device question mark showed up,no matter how many ways I tried to install and reinstall. Finally I removed the Rage theater and MVD codec in the sound section and rebooted and new hardware was found and reinstalled the correct drivers.Always choose that you will look for the driver yourself and browse through each component installation CD.
  11. Good one Babis. Good one Lynchnot.DT
  12. I have a subscription to PC World which I got as a gift. There is an article on serial ATA interfaces which is suppose to eventually be standard. The ribbon cables are 1/4 the size and capable of 600 MB/s.Serial ATA article
  13. Yes that particular model Turbo2 is the one that can be upgraded and not the one you have.Another model MOBO is the KT3 Ultra which is all set right out of the box for an XP 2200+.The cost is only $79.00.Here is the link to buy.GO
  14. How about a drawing give away.If you really don't need the cash Bah you could put all the members of this forum's names in that AMD hat and pick a winner.Just a thought.

  16. How many Desktops can we post per month?
  17. The first thing I did was unplug all the peripherals and unplug the power cord. Then I just hooked up the keyboard, mouse and monitor, plugged it back into the surge protector, fired it up and got the same thing, windows kept starting and shutting down.Just for the heck of it I used another surge protector he had laying around and now it's running again.I don't quite understand why windows reported that the bios was not fully compliant and now it runs with a new surge protector. The lightning may have damaged it.Anyway I shut it down and tried using the old surge protector and it repeated it's restarting ways so I guess it's the power strip?Time will tell if there is any more damage.
  18. I think I saw an update for remedying a problem with XP and UPS's.Not sure.

  22. You can buy a 8500 64 MB for around $92.00 and the 8500 128MB for $229.00 and a GeForce 4200 64MB for $200.The prices are falling and theres gonna be some good choices out there for cheap. That 9700 is impressive though, and I would like to see their demo mpg.

  25. In April in Fayetteville, N.C., Shirley Brigman Turriff, 63, was sentenced to six years in prison for embezzling $1.1 million from the law firm for which she had been office manager (Anderson Johnson), which had hired her shortly after she had been convicted for embezzling from her first employer. Anderson Johnson was fully aware that she was an embezzler when it hired her because one of its lawyers had defended her in that earlier case. [Raleigh News & Observer, 5-1-02]
