  1. So I got a copy of Business. Thank you MSDN. Its easier to get Aero through vLite than in Server. Too many dependencies for too little gain.
  2. What about for BitLocker as well?
  3. Sweet. Where did you get the list? Windows update?
  4. Unfortunatelly I don't have Vista Business edition. Vista Ultimate will have to do. What about Server 2008 x64? Does it work with vLite?
  5. I'm looking at Vista Ultimate & Sever 2008 x64 versions. Which one performs better once vLited? I read that Server 2008 does not have all the DRM junk, so thats why it performs way better out of the box. Does vLite remove enough of that to reduce the performance gap? Which one comes out lighter on the system?
  6. Where can I download a Server 2008 update pack? Or the closest thing available?

    Resignation

Thanks for everything XPero. I've been using your XPize for years. It's too bad you're not working on Vize. You do great work. Best wishes in what you choose to do next.
  8. A screenshot of some icons would be great.
  9. Why ask for permission? The poster on DeviantART did not make it. This is part of the DirectX 9.0 diagnostics when you press the "Test Direct3D" button.
  10. I am trying to install the Realtek RTL8139/810x driver. One from the Toshiba support section, and the newest from Realtek. Nothing. Whenever I try to install manually with the inf, it crashes at the end of copying the rtenicxp.sys file. I tried rebooting in safe mode, installed it, rebooted in normal mode and xp wouldn't start. What can I do? Maybe try the win2000 driver?
  11. Cheap build too.
  12. Toshiba Satellite A200-AH3, PSAE0C-AH308C So it this is what I know so far; 945GM Chipset/IGP Socket P CPU, physically upgradeable Questions I have: Can I put a 45nm CPU? The 945GM is rated for 4GB DDR2 but Toshiba says only 2GB. I have a T2080 CPU in the board. Its roughly a E2140. I'm looking at a T7200+ Big jump? I've found a benchmark on Geekbench. The OP had an A200 with a T7200 so I am sure its upgradeable to at least that.
  13. Yeah... I'd rather not fry the board. I thought it would be a little simpler. Thank you everyone.
  14. How do I update the BIOS on my laptop? Intel 945GM. Any flashing utility?
  15. There's no point in 1GB. Tests have been done with the 8800GT with 1GB and its not worth the price premium. The 9600GT is not much different and won't be able to fully take advantage of the extra memory. Get a faster card with the money instead of more memory. http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA==
  16. I see. What if it records uncompressed?
  17. I'm looking at the Intel Atom. Do you guys think it has enough power to record & compress: VIDEO: 4 streams of 640x480 + 1 stream of 320x240 and AUDIO: 2 mono streams of 22khz. At the same time? Its for a DIY passive car security system running 24/7.
  18. No. ****
  19. 1. Hybrid Power aka Hybrid SLi which was not available on the 8xxx series. 2. Improved Purevideo decoding. 3. Cheaper price, runs cooler. Its basically a 8800Ultra level card at half the price it was originally. It has a way higher bang for buck. Its not an enthusiast card, its a little more mainstream. If you're disappointed with it, there's always the 9800GX2. There's more money to be made when the products are affordable. Not many people buy the 9900SuperTurboUltraLE editions. I found a very good review here: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/xfx_9800gtx/
  20. Get a XP CD and use the repair console.
  21. Anybody remember a frame rate tweaking program a few years back?
  22. It will work. If you get an error, then "Run as Administrator" option.
  23. Its been fixed in FF3. It took a little while but the issues are being patched at light speed, relative to M$. It also helps that its Open Source. Much less critical flaws.
  24. So try the themes service if you can spare a couple of megs. Otherwise you're out of luck. You're going to have to use the Classic Start if you want it slim.
