  1. TikTok is different because it comes from a place without freedom of speech. It has no place on either European or US market. It's not paper towels or whatever they order from the Chinese, it's a tool of terrible influence, and we don't need their dictatorship values in our homes.

  2. <excerpt from Reuters> Risks include "the possibility that the Chinese government could use (TikTok) to control data collection on millions of users or control the recommendation algorithm, which could be used for influence operations," Wray told U.S. lawmakers. <excerpt> Which came first, the chicken or the egg? To me, it all boils down to DATA COLLECTION. The algorithm and the influence is DEFINED by the DATA COLLECTION. Without the DATA, there is no INFLUENCING. Data Collection violates Privacy Rights. So to me, the bottom denominator is the privacy rights. But agreed - "potatoe, potato"...

  3. My memory wasn't playing tricks on me. I was able to run even this method in Mypal 68.14.4b one more time. I combined methods from the Alice0775 project targeting FF 69+ and FF 72+ to get this script loading method (without binding via the userChrome.xml file from the Nuchi project) from 4th place of my ranking list running. However, two little fixes inside the userChrome.js file were necessary for that. As I already mentioned, this should actually only work from Firefox 72 onwards. Perhaps, Alice0775 did not even consider this possible variant for FF 68 at that time.

  4. Well, it hasn't died yet. I know you don't think much of those Seagate disks, but I've never had any problem with any of them. As long as it's still working fine in Windows 10 (and in XP when it's directly connected to the motherboard) I'm not going to worry about it. If it dies, it dies.

  5. Well, we played "gestapo" game, it was very popular in the 70s, 80s. Those old traditions are now gone, modern kids stick their face in smartphones produced in China, with TikTok, it's still NOT banned here, in France!

  6. It's our weak leaders, I'd ban the hell everything. But then again, we should acknowledge they learnt how to use our democratic values against us!

  7. @Cixert The 3TB drive is a Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001. The Sector size is 512. @Multibooter I tried driver version 1.0.11.0 on the card, same result. I'll see if I can find any more versions, but most seem to be 64 bit. It appears correctly in the card's BIOS screen on boot, and also in the device list for the card in Device Manager. It looks OK in the Disk list in Device Manger until you try to populate the volumes, which then says it's unreadable. The motherboard BIOS shows it as a 802GB capacity drive, rather strangely.

  8. This ban is NOT useless. And it have nothing to do with privacy right. The reason for ban is simple - Tik-Tok manipulating western society to do harm to they own countries and weakened them, in ideal - elect spy's of CCP\ru. We just see that in Romania, when those who don't use Tik-Tok have no idea who was that guy who "won" in first tour of elections. So again ban have nothing to do with "PRIVACY RIGHTS", it have to do with nefarious activity of CCP\ru to harm and, eventually, destroy free world. In Ukraine every dog know that telegram is ru\FSB property, but many people still use telegram. They say: i just upload videos there and do not share confidential information, but installing telegram app on smartphone make smartphone compromised! People are not that smart of species. Then ban this Red Note - what seems to be the problem? I heard american kids play in that game "whack-a-mole", well now it's maybe that game. No problem, just ban them all. Don't let them in your informational space. They do more than that, not only YouTube is banned there, but even Wikipedia is banned in China, which explains why Chinese segment of Wikipedia is smaller than Ukrainian segment despite huge size of Chinese population. They already banned western platforms - you should do the same - ban all their platforms. Let they speak to themselves, cook gooses and talk to each other how good that all they houses land are just rented from CCP government and they don't own it. P.S. By the way, to learn about real "values" of china society go in google and search 4chan chinese webm you will find out how psychotic they population and how they have zero empathy to each other,

  9. I think you can watch Youtube videos from Bing Video or maybe Yandex video search results without having an account or being logged in, as long as the video doesn't have an age verification setting. If it does have that setting, it will just show the thumbnail.

  10. I had first attempted to install Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 build 813 without having installed .NET FrameWork 4, but the installation stopped with the msg: ".NET 4.0 not found. Please install .NET 4.0 for further installation of the product" After having installed .NET Framework 4 the installation completed OK. The installer also modified I:\WINXPSP2\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\ngen_service.log I can also confirm that build 813 requires MS Visual C ++ 2010 x86 Redistributable v10.0.40219, which was already installed on my SSE-only Pentium 3 laptop. (this specific build of C++ Redist is required). install_xp.reg and install.reg of Hard Disk Manager 15 build 813 have the same MD5 values as those of your build 779. The MD5 checksum of vid_custom.dll, also in the install-to, is CFC582BB605FFF80C2BACD5D43C0E485 Total Uninstall indicates a quite sophisticated installation, when just the GPT Loader is selected for installation with build 813. For example, 7 .exe files are added to \Windows\Installer\{619A89DE-5F01-11E2-85E8-000C2982512D}\ and a lot of registry entries. \Windows\Installer\d80b3.msi was also added by the installer and is digitally signed by Paragon 11Nov2015 but the signature is not valid. d80b3.msi is 6,334,976 bytes and has the MD5 B253CAE901F0D54D962DEF76E219135E and contains, among others, the 7 .exe files.

  11. Finally a report from me! I connected my caddy/enclosure directly to the motherboard instead of via the eSATA card. I've tested with the 3TB disk, and it works fine. I've written to it using Windows Explorer both using Windows XP and Windows 10, and have gone over 2TB on the drive, and I can't fault it. It passes chkdsk on XP and 10, no sign of the horrendous errors that I was getting before. So, it looks as if using the earlier version of the Paragon GPT driver was indeed the fix for that, thank you so much @Cixert! Now all I've got to do is find out why XP cannot see the disk correctly when it's connected via the card, when Windows 10 can! It can't be the hardware, so it must be the Silicon Image 32 bit XP driver. My search continues to resolve that, but at least I now know that the disk will work with XP once I get that sorted out.

  12. Other. Router config + DNS hosts file + Proxomitron Reborn + uBlock Origin + uMatrix + Stylus + Tampermonkey A couple of my YouTube extensions also "block ads", but the ads never make it past my other defenses for them to even perform a block (and the extension's ad-block functionality is too often broken by YouTube "updates"). They all work hand-in-hand to block ads.

  13. I have 2x of the WD 'Easystore' external drives. There is a WD tool that allows you to expose the native 4kn sector size and hence format the drive using MBR. Then you can make multiple partitions as I did (in order to avoid using FAT32) or just make one large FAT32 partition. I do not believe the drive will work like this outside of the enclosure, and I don't think what the enclosure is doing can be done by other enclosures. I think the whole thing is a strictly WD thing. In one instance I do have an HGST drive formatted like this that was also able to be used 4kn in the same enclosure, but I also have another HGST drive that would not work 4kn in the same enclosure, so best to just use the easystore as is. I believe I have tested this up to 16TB, but it may be 14TB has its been a few years. I use the drives strictly has backups as there's a triple chance of catastrophic failure--the drive, the enclosure, or the enclosure's 4kn translation--a failure in any one of these will result in data loss. Hope this helps.

  14. I agree. But look at the userbase! The userbase here in the USA is already migrating to Red Note - which is also based in China. The USERBASE of TikTok (I have a 24yr old daughter on TikTok) couldn't even tell you who our Vice President is! Let alone "care" about political underpinnings of their "beloved" source of what they call "influencers". The USERBASE is "smart enough" to see their "feeds" as influencers, their terminology, but not smart enough to connect the dotted line between "influence" and "brain-washed censored mind-control propaganda".

  15. Overview of script loading methods for Mypal 68 This is a ranking list of all script loading methods for Mypal 68, which I am aware of, and reflects the experiences from my tests in the currently most recent versions 68.14.4b and 68.14.5b of this browser. Edit (05.05.2025): This ranking list is valid up to and including version 68.14.7b: Nuchi-Sporif script loading method Alice0775-Nuchi script loading method Nuchi script loading method Alice0775 script loading method Aris-t2/Ardiman-Endor8 script loading method Endor8 script loading method Xiaoxiaoflood script loading method The Nuchi-Sporif script loading method in 1st place is the one I have been making available for download here since 2022. All scripts that are really compatible with Firefox 68+ work with this method in Mypal 68 right from the start. The Alice0775-Nuchi script loading method in 2nd place works similarly well if a small fix I was able to find due to an error message in the browser console is made in its code. The pure Nuchi script loading method in 3rd place does not automatically recognise scripts in the chrome folder. They must be imported manually by the user. But this method works just as well as the two previous methods. The pure Alice0775 script loading method in 4th place is actually available only starting from Firefox 72. But I also got it working in Mypal 68 if I remember correctly. I have tested so much that it is sometimes difficult to keep an overview. If anyone is wondering why I'm bothering with other script loading methods at all when the best one has already been provided by me, then I should mention at this point that the Nuchi-Sporif script loading method no longer works as of Firefox 72. Incidentally, this applies to all Nuchi script loading methods. Since I don't know what @feodor2 plans to do with Mypal 68 in the future and to what extent compatibility will be maintained, it's good to know what alternatives are available. In any case, the methods in 4th to 7th place are also available for higher Firefox versions. When using the Aris-t2/Ardiman-Endor8 or the pure Endor8 script loading method, however, some scripts need to be additionally fixed which I have already successfully done in some cases but this is not always easy. In any case, these two methods led to more fixes to be done in scripts than the methods from 1st to 4th place and need deeper JavaScript and CSS knowledge. Unfortunately, the Xiaoxiaoflood script loading method in 7th place was the worst. Many of the scripts I use do not work with this method. Nevertheless, there are at least 7 methods to load UC.JS scripts in Mypal 68, even if they vary in their structure, user-friendliness and script compatibility. Greetings, AstroSkipper

  16. @Multibooter Just a little tip. If you want to mention and reach someone from this forum, then for example @AstroSkipper is not enough, it should look like this: @AstroSkipper. Otherwise it would only be pure coincidence if your enquiry was noticed.

  18. For my personal use, I have additionally modified the Nuchi-Sporif script loading method to load all UC.JS script files from a chrome subfolder called "Scripts". This gives the user a better structured chrome folder. If someone is interested how that can be done, just ask here. This modification has not been implemented in my new download package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z to avoid confusion.

  19. Script loader package for Mypal 68 - Update notification My download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z has been updated. I edited different files to tidy up the package and remove unnecessary code. Here is a short changelog: In the config-prefs.js file, comments added and the pref general.config.sandbox_enabled deactivated. In the config.js file, unnecessary code removed. In the userChrome.css file, information added how to import CSS stylesheets. In the userChrome.js file, the error "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" fixed in two different ways: either unnecessary code completely removed, or the corrected file userChrome.js.FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper can be used (the extension .FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper has then to be removed, of course ). Instructions in the Instructions - Please read me first!.txt file updated. The download link of my package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z can be found as always in the first post of this thread. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  20. The last few weeks, or rather the last few months, I have expanded my JavaScript and CSS knowledge considerably. I started to develop not only new custom buttons for the legacy extension Custom Buttons and custom CSS stylesheets, both targeting Mypal 68, but also UC.JS scripts for Mypal 68 and compatible browsers. Additionally, I have tested and analysed all available methods for loading UC.JS scripts. I also put my favoured method, which I presented in the first post of this thread, to the test. The loading method in my download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z is based on the loading method of Nuchi and Sporif. At the time, I assumed that additional code inside the config.js file was needed to load UC.JS scripts. This code comes from the alice0775 project and, however, it is not needed at all for the loading method I have provided, as I have realised in the last few days. It is only needed if there is no binding via the userchrome.xml file. Fortunately, it didn't do any harm either, but I have nevertheless tidied up my package and got rid of unnecessary ballast. I will now create and upload a new download package which will also contain my fix for the error "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" in two different ways. What I can already say at this point is that my favourite Nuchi-Sporif method is one of the best of all regarding Mypal 68. More on this soon. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  21. I can't say if these extensions I found do their job correctly in modern browser. This thread is about Mypal 68 which of course isn't a modern browser. It is more an old browser modified to be a bit more recent, especially its JavaScript engine. So, do you look for such an extension targeting Mypal 68?

  22. That's right in relation those who get "update the browser" (like me), but not the "human" thingy captcha. @NotHereToPlayGamesgets the "human" thingy captcha, so it's his IP they don't want to pass through. Probably, he's on a well-known VPN. @NotHereToPlayGames's error exactly matches the error from a Russian user. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=1272225

  23. No. That is not the case. When closing the main window of ProxHTTPSProxy from my package ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3, its entries are automatically removed from the system proxy settings. If not, you did something wrong. Close the main window of ProxHTTPSProxy and check the system proxy settings by "Open IE Proxy Settings" in the PopMenu!

  24. @Anbima My final recommendation for you. Use in 360Chrome a proxy switcher extension like, for example, Proxy SwitchyOmega for a more convenient use of this proxy from inside this browser!
    1 point
  25. Exactly the opposite, simply letting certain URLs pass, can easily be realised. What you want is not actually the purpose of this proxy. If you only need the proxy for certain connections, only switch it on then and switch it off otherwise. It's as simple as that.

  27. What "free-speech" can be given for the developers of software that wear foreign, hostile nation uniforms? Be it Russian KGB Kaspersky, be it China military TikTok, India will do just fine without someone deciding for them, they know better how to protect themselves. I never insulted you, not a single time. You, on the other hand, insulted me many times, and it was based on my nationality/country/lifestyle. According to you, It's OK to insult the French, but very "racist" to not use your Russia software you shove down our throats. Here we see your usual double standards. But when people point out them to you, you feel "insulted". I returned from holidays, I expected they calmed you down a bit, but no! It's the same old you, on your usual old track, with the same provocative behaviour! In my opinion, you're very toxic for this forum. Nevertheless, I'm still waiting you ask me for forgiveness. The collection of screenshots/posts with your racial slurs and insults are at your disposal anytime. I understand it might be in your job description, but * neither MSFN is the place for scaring Western citizens, nor is the place for discussing wars. Please stop.
