  2. Overview of script loading methods for Mypal 68 This is a ranking list of all script loading methods for Mypal 68, which I am aware of, and reflects the experiences from my tests in the currently most recent versions 68.14.4b and 68.14.5b of this browser. Edit (05.05.2025): This ranking list is valid up to and including version 68.14.7b: Nuchi-Sporif script loading method Alice0775-Nuchi script loading method Nuchi script loading method Alice0775 script loading method Aris-t2/Ardiman-Endor8 script loading method Endor8 script loading method Xiaoxiaoflood script loading method The Nuchi-Sporif script loading method in 1st place is the one I have been making available for download here since 2022. All scripts that are really compatible with Firefox 68+ work with this method in Mypal 68 right from the start. The Alice0775-Nuchi script loading method in 2nd place works similarly well if a small fix I was able to find due to an error message in the browser console is made in its code. The pure Nuchi script loading method in 3rd place does not automatically recognise scripts in the chrome folder. They must be imported manually by the user. But this method works just as well as the two previous methods. The pure Alice0775 script loading method in 4th place is actually available only starting from Firefox 72. But I also got it working in Mypal 68 if I remember correctly. I have tested so much that it is sometimes difficult to keep an overview. If anyone is wondering why I'm bothering with other script loading methods at all when the best one has already been provided by me, then I should mention at this point that the Nuchi-Sporif script loading method no longer works as of Firefox 72. Incidentally, this applies to all Nuchi script loading methods. Since I don't know what @feodor2 plans to do with Mypal 68 in the future and to what extent compatibility will be maintained, it's good to know what alternatives are available. In any case, the methods in 4th to 7th place are also available for higher Firefox versions. When using the Aris-t2/Ardiman-Endor8 or the pure Endor8 script loading method, however, some scripts need to be additionally fixed which I have already successfully done in some cases but this is not always easy. In any case, these two methods led to more fixes to be done in scripts than the methods from 1st to 4th place and need deeper JavaScript and CSS knowledge. Unfortunately, the Xiaoxiaoflood script loading method in 7th place was the worst. Many of the scripts I use do not work with this method. Nevertheless, there are at least 7 methods to load UC.JS scripts in Mypal 68, even if they vary in their structure, user-friendliness and script compatibility. Greetings, AstroSkipper

  3. For my personal use, I have additionally modified the Nuchi-Sporif script loading method to load all UC.JS script files from a chrome subfolder called "Scripts". This gives the user a better structured chrome folder. If someone is interested how that can be done, just ask here. This modification has not been implemented in my new download package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z to avoid confusion.

  4. Script loader package for Mypal 68 - Update notification My download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z has been updated. I edited different files to tidy up the package and remove unnecessary code. Here is a short changelog: In the config-prefs.js file, comments added and the pref general.config.sandbox_enabled deactivated. In the config.js file, unnecessary code removed. In the userChrome.css file, information added how to import CSS stylesheets. In the userChrome.js file, the error "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" fixed in two different ways: either unnecessary code completely removed, or the corrected file userChrome.js.FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper can be used (the extension .FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper has then to be removed, of course ). Instructions in the Instructions - Please read me first!.txt file updated. The download link of my package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z can be found as always in the first post of this thread. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  5. @Cixert Hi, thanks for your tests. Unfortunately, even with the GPT Loader v8.0.1.0 from Paragon Partition Manager 15 Professional x86 v10.1.25.779, data corruption occurred in my system configured in IDE mode when the files copied exceeding the 2TB limit. During the installation of Paragon Partition Manager 15 Professional, only the GPT_Loader driver was installed. I used a Seagate ST4000LM024 4TB disk initialized as GPT in Win10 with one NTFS partition only and with the files copied previously in Win10 for a total of 1,933,348,982,784 bytes. Before testing, I checked the integrity of all files. Disk.sys and Partmgr.sys installed are versions of XP, v5.1.2600.5597 and v5.1.2600.5512, respectively. I started copying the files in XP until to reach 2,199,981,613,056 bytes. Checking file integrity: no problems detected. When 12 more files for a total of 13,656,097,175 bytes were copied to the disk, I noticed that one has become corrupted. After a reboot, all 12 files are now corrupted. As a final note, during the first stage of copying files in XP, the bsod 0x00000024 occurred for gpt_lo~1.sys

  6. Let's all hope it will happen. I hope EU will follow. I heard that ruzzkies and chinese run wild this thing in Romania and create a chaos there. I don't understand this "magic" of short vertical videos where cringe teenagers carefully selected by CCP algorithm tell you what to do and for whom you should vote. Let's send this CCP teens to trash-been of history!

  7. Indeed currently I have no Win98(SE) installation on a hard drive. I checked it on ME. It's probably just as it should be in the case of the DOS Box here. The box closes using the "Exit" command. But you changed the description of the problem. So maybe now you mean "Real DOS".

  8. I appreciate the effort, I do, thank you. But my purpose of being here is not to play games, and some people would wrongly assume, judging by your nickname, yours isn't either. But then again, if you think I deserve, then OK, put a like. I'm not scheming, I'm asking us both to respect the forum, and the readers, so let's stop with this off-topic. Now, back ON Topic! People were getting the same as late as 2023! Namely, in 115 version, which isn't that far away. I'll not quote, please read the whole thread. https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/issues/1106#issuecomment-1666082882

  9. Does Windows 11 churn up on HDD like Windows 7? Enormous reads-writes. I mean.

  10. One thing is if you wish it die, Ben. Another, why not stock up on XP compatible parts? They could be found for free. Not that actually it's any of my business, just sayin'. VM requires a strong CPU with virtualisation, and it has lots of shortcomings, not only 3D Acceleration.

  11. Thank you very much. I'm saddened to hear you may be placing a halt on releases. I posted this as a bug on GitHub, but the "White Caption Text" setting no longer works on the new ESR 128.6 release. I attempted changing it in "Settings" and in about:config, but no workie. Let me know if there's an easy fix. Cheers K4sum1!

  12. And please stop with the CAPSLOCKING. The "super clever" developer of Ungoogled simply replaced "chromium" with "ch40m1um". Is it a 2 year old kid, or what? https://bugs.ch40m1um.qjz9zk/ I'll tell more, there are all sorts of retarded replacements all over the file, like "www.9oo9H"! Google with shmoogle, and so on. You, with your rep of 3.2K, you still wanna tell me the browser will not broadcast rubbish?

  13. The last few weeks, or rather the last few months, I have expanded my JavaScript and CSS knowledge considerably. I started to develop not only new custom buttons for the legacy extension Custom Buttons and custom CSS stylesheets, both targeting Mypal 68, but also UC.JS scripts for Mypal 68 and compatible browsers. Additionally, I have tested and analysed all available methods for loading UC.JS scripts. I also put my favoured method, which I presented in the first post of this thread, to the test. The loading method in my download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z is based on the loading method of Nuchi and Sporif. At the time, I assumed that additional code inside the config.js file was needed to load UC.JS scripts. This code comes from the alice0775 project and, however, it is not needed at all for the loading method I have provided, as I have realised in the last few days. It is only needed if there is no binding via the userchrome.xml file. Fortunately, it didn't do any harm either, but I have nevertheless tidied up my package and got rid of unnecessary ballast. I will now create and upload a new download package which will also contain my fix for the error "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" in two different ways. What I can already say at this point is that my favourite Nuchi-Sporif method is one of the best of all regarding Mypal 68. More on this soon. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  14. I meant insert https://0.0.0.0 into Google lytics, not home page, And home page, simply edit it out completely, the whole string with the quotes, what's stopping you?

  15. @feodor2 I don't know if you have read my post quoted above. The logger in the most recent version of uBO 1.61.2 has now completely stopped working in Mypal 68.14.4b and 68.14.5b. Neither when running single-process mode or multi-process mode. I therefore reverted to the last officially compatible version 1.46, as uBO is unfortunately useless without a functioning logger.

  16. Do they have problems beyond "OMG Windows uses half-RAM!"? I mean, is another application being starved? Seems people with most RAM complain the most. Regarding testing in VMs, I personally only encountered bugs that have nothing to do with specific hardware and drivers, so easily detectable in VM.

  17. The last months, I have deepened my knowledge about JavaScript and CSS. In the case of the Process Mode Toggler custom button, one might think that it only toggles the browser.tabs.remote.autostart preference. However, this is not the case. Besides toggling this preference, my custom button displays the current process mode via toolbar icon and tooltip. It doesn't matter whether the button was used for toggling the process mode or not. It always recognises the correct mode. The process mode change is linked to a restart of the browser which is of course necessary for running the browser in the new mode. Additionally, it also adjusts two other prefs that are related to the respective process mode: dom.ipc.processCount and dom.ipc.processCount.webLargeAllocation. Their values can be preset for the respective process mode in the first lines of the button code. So, this custom button is very special and rather unique. In any case, one thing is clear. Webextensions are much more restricted and not allowed to control such features what in contrast UC.JS scripts and legacy custom buttons can easily do, though.

  18. Which two buttons? The clip is about one button, my recently created custom button called Process Mode Toggler. You won't find it anywhere. However, I have recently posted some new custom buttons for UXP browsers and compatibles in my thread "Extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers - Corrections, modifications, adjustments, and special recommendations". Given the lack of response and interest, I doubt that the Custom Buttons extension is used very much in general by our members or readers for whatever reasons which I do not really have to understand, though. And with a probability bordering on certainty even much less in Mypal 68 if at all. TBH, I am beginning to think I am the only one using the legacy Custom Buttons extension in Mypal 68. Anyway! I developed the Process Mode Toggler custom button actually for personal use in Mypal 68 to test UC.JS scripts, CSS stylesheets, extensions and legacy custom buttons conveniently and quickly in multiprocess mode as well in single-process mode. Especially to test my self-created ones. If there was genuine interest in my custom buttons and it was communicated in this way, then things would be different. But I can't see that so far. The clip I have posted should simply give you an impression of what I do with custom buttons and what can be done at all. No more, no less.

  19. I think it is well known by now that I am a fan of custom buttons. The last months, I created a couple of them for the UXP browsers as well for Mypal 68. Here is one of my latest creations:

  20. I'm not an expert, but it seems hypocritical of China to complain about America banning Tiktok, when the Chinese Communist Party bans Google and Meta from being used by Chinese netizens. So from my point of view, as an exhausted, tired, cynical, nearly apathetic American, is I'd rather NOT have Chinese companies running their biased algorithms (in order to destabilize my country) on platforms used by Americans. In fact, I'd rather we just ban EVERYTHING Chinese altogether, including all their spies crossing our borders illegally. The entire reason of existence for the CCP is to control and censor information to make themselves look better and everybody else look worse. So no, I don't think we should allow some Chinese companies FREEDOM to espouse their anti-American and anti-Western views inside our own countries. We aren't allowed to post anti-Chinese new stories and articles inside China, are we? Just because we live in a democracy, doesn't mean our flow of information has to be for sale to the highest bidder, there still has to be some morals and principles related to freedom of speech. And letting some communists, and America-haters run the algorithms that control what stories and news articles are trending, doesn't bode well for the future of a stable, democratic society. These are the same Chinese rulers who tell Hollywood which scenes and dialogue are to be erased from movies before they can be seen in China. These are the same Chinese rulers who teach their school children to hate Japanese people and to hate Americans for existing, and because they have some arrogant, "century of humiliation" grievances in their deluded minds. For example, they erased the statue of Liberty from the most recent Spider-man film. What a bunch of cowards, is all I can say. Why don't we just make movies, software, and hardware for Americans and like-minded democratic allies? In my opinion we should COMPLETELY de-couple from China, and Russia. But that's just my two cents. I'll just put it even more simply and bluntly..... they (Russia and China) hate the Western world, so I dislike them back..... they have no business in our open societies. All they want to do is undermine our cultures and destroy us. So, I'm going to vote with my wallet, and not buy anything Chinese or Russian. I don't support Chinese and Russian fascism.
