  1. Could be anything ranging from "Born Before Christ" to "Brought Back Crippled". If you meant the GB BBC.co.UK, then it's indeed a heavy site, you simply ought to use an adblocker there, I mean with your multitasking preferences and low RAM. If you stream the videos from there, it's most likely not H264, which puts load on your CPU and makes a big cache in your RAM, instead of caching into the supported GPU that has H265 and VP9 decoding capabilities.

  2. I don't think that video with black males takes up too much RAM, unless it's in 4K. He's running a sound card (ASIOhost64.exe) at realtime priority, that's weird, oh wait, probably it's because he has also foobar opened. In foobar v2 x64 bit asio is supported. But why? Is he recording the audio from black males' video in realtime (capturing?). That would of course take a good amount of RAM.

  4. I know a lot of people that don't. I observed my ex-girlfriend literally ate tonnes of wedding dresses and parties ads at her insta, while she was almost sure I'm not gonna marry her, I'm still very young to settle down now, what chances did she have 5 years ago, when I was even younger? So, it was a torture for her, yet she continued to stare at those ads! Later on, when she tried Supermium, not long before we broke up due to the reasons I'm not going to disclose to respect her privacy, she was still too tolerant to the ads she saw in the browser on youtube.

  5. Boot-US, a well-known and great boot manager, developed in Germany, was updated to the version 4.1.3. It runs under Windows XP to Windows 11 in 32 bit or 64 bit version and receives updates on a regular base. It recognizes whether Windows is installed in BIOS or UEFI mode. The whole package Boot-US (GUI and command-line version) may be used in the non-licensed version on private PCs for free. IMHO, the best boot manager of all I tried in the past. I use Boot-US since 2005. You can manage booting of other OSs such as Linux besides Windows partitions, too. Partitions can be simply or truly hidden. It is possible to set exactly which other logical partitions may be seen when booting from a primary partition. It has so much features I can't describe here. On its homepage, you'll find all you need to know. 8. That's probably due to the things people dream of, or simply want to see in their life. Yes, I too like to be Captain Obvious. I'm starting to notice later versions of uBlock let some ads to slip through in Supermium, is it the old engine? Or I need to downgrade the UBO?

  10. Isn't Supermium supposed to be already "rebased", as it officially supports XP?
    2 points
  11. Actually, no. Fingerprinting by the means of installed fonts is rather common.

  12. I didn't check the installer version at all because I always use the portable version. I extracted KeePass 2.54 portable into my folder with all portable programmes c:\Portable, and it works properly under Windows XP. Maybe, the change of the installer is the reason the system requirements for KeePass are now Windows 7 and above. PS: I have therefore edited my previous post. Thanks to @UCyborg for this additional information!

  14. Font fingerprinting has been around for OVER A DECADE. BLOCKING them is NOT the way to INCREASE anonyminity! FONT fingerprinting is one of the EASIEST to CONFUSE. Install a font one day, uninstall it the next. That's TWO fingerprints left behind. An operating system whose fonts NEVER CHANGE stands out like a sore thumb because it only has ONE fingerprint. There are certain fonts that only exist because a user installed LibreOffice or Microsoft Office or runs Vista instead of 10 or 11 or uses Acrobot Reader. The list is endless. If you don't want your fingerprint revealing you run Office 365, then remove the font "Calibri". If you don't want your fingerprint revealing you run Win11, then remove the font "Segoe UI Variable" and "Segoe Fluent Icons". Even an EMOJI font reveals you as you and creates a very unique fingerprint. Unique is NOT good when it comes to a "browser fingerprint". Install Supermium's emoji font and it does not matter if you remove client hints because OS + Browser + that font is a very UNIQUE fingerprint. As for HOW - via JAVASCRIPT. Like almost (but not "all") fingerprinting, YOU BLOCK JAVASCRIPT AND YOU PREVENTED THE FINGERPRINT FROM LANDING ON THE WEB SITE YOU TOUCHED WITH YOUR FINGER.

  16. Removing MoveImages setting fixed the issue. I did set it some time ago. On computer B with 20 GB RAM and similar settings set by me the out of the box experience with Supermium is equally good under Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 R2 with MoveImages 0 or default. At default, everything is relocated to some random numbers. At 0, chrome.dll is at 12000000 (not relocated). However, on computer A, the setting 0 caused the problem because of an unknown other factor. I opened a great number of webpages and only used 5 GB of memory. https://imgur.com/a/mRljd3T The task managers seem to show different memories so there is not quite a parity.

  17. Not important to me at the moment, but SOMETHING is happening on that TAMPERMONKEY "thanks for installing" HOME PAGE. I shall make note of this and MY APOLOGIES for even RECOMMENDING to install Tampermonkey, I HAD NO IDEA IT OPENED A "thanks for installing" home page that is clearly DOING SOMETHING very VERY suspicious (at least in Supermium on Server 2008 R2).

  18. Bingo! Normally, it shouldn't exist. Both browsers should go back to normal if you delete the value and restart Windows. Otherwise, you're forcing ASLR off and having old relocation logic in effect, which duplicates DLLs in memory/page file when multiple processes use them. You'd have to find a different value of base address manually then for chrome.dll to avoid collision with another DLL. Each extension is its own process in Chromium.

  23. Please provide a download link. I have no interest in scrolling through dozens upon dozens of DRUG articles when trying to hunt for it! Gotta be the STUPIDEST name for a BROWSER if you ask me! Yep, you have a REBASE ISSUE. 1) Download libase from here -- https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1N4r41rCXQKVZ02XzZhhjM5I4a0dXkizS 2) Close Supermium and copy its chrome.dll file into the libase -> Release folder. 3) Open a Command Prompt window from the Release folder and execute the command libase.exe chrome.dll 4) Copy the "rebased" chrome.dll back into your Supermium (renaming original if you wish to keep it, but make sure that this "new" chrome.dll is the one that Supermium now uses). Launch Supermium and compare memory now that you are "rebased".

  25. I use post Windows 8.1 CentBrowser, long after this old OS was abandoned, and while Supermium is indeed totally modern and flat, just like you wrote, how did they manage to keep all the curviness in CentBrowser? It looks just like the old chrome we all knew. And no matter how many times I read about the plans of getting the old theme to Supermium, its each new version becomes more and more flatter.

  26. KeePass, one of the best password managers for Windows, was updated to the version 2.54 on 2023-06-03. It is developed in Germany, open source and therefore free to use. KeePass is still compatible with Windows XP although the system requirements listed on the KeePass download page are Windows 7 and above. For integration into browsers such as New Moon or Serpent, have a look here: Homepage: https://keepass.info/index.html Download: https://keepass.info/download.html Plugins: https://keepass.info/plugins.html Installer for Windows (2.54, not XP-compatible): https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/files/KeePass 2.x/2.54/KeePass-2.54-Setup.exe/download Portable (2.54, XP-compatible)): https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/files/KeePass 2.x/2.54/KeePass-2.54.zip/download As reported by @UCyborg, the installer version is no longer XP-compatible, but the portable version is which I am using under Windows XP.. 27. Another great programme is still compatible with Windows XP in 2023 and receiving updates on regular base. It is Hardcopy from sw4you, a very good screenshot programme, originated in Germany. 28. No, unfortunately not. I always use the forum search to find a program I am looking for here in this thread. The problem with such a list is its regular maintainance, which is a lot of work, of course. And there are only a few members who would take on such work.

  29. Did you try the online installers I linked for you? And you are right. The offline installer for the version 18.8.4084.0 does not exist anymore as I already mentioned. It used to exist, but it has been completely removed.

  30. AVG Antivirus Free 18 is a cheap imitation of avast! Free Antivirus 2018. As I have reported several times, I had various problems with avast! But AVG takes the cake. With AVG Antivirus Free 18.8.4084.0, I had only problems and even crashes on my computer (real Windows XP). That's why I provided the download link to AVG Clear 18.8.4084.0 that you quoted, to get rid of this version completely. The choice between AVG 18 and avast! 2018 is like between plague and cholera , but I would always choose avast!. You can already see how "good" AVG is from your posted links. They removed all original links to the version 18.8.4084.0 of AVG Antivirus Free and offer a previous version. Maybe, because the version 18.8.4084.0 or its installer is crappy indeed? Anyway! If you really want to install AVG Antivirus Free 18, then I have this link for you: Download of the online installer for AVG Antivirus Free 18.8.4084.0: http://web.archive.org/web/20181227134304if_/https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x/avg_antivirus_free_setup.exe This installer is language-neutral, but I'm definitely not going to try it, not to mention the fact that I hate online installers anyway. And the most recent, official online installer is supposed to recognise the operating system automatically and install the correct version. Here is the download page: https://www.avg.com/en-us/windows-xp-antivirus#pc All at your own risk! I already warned you. The offline installer of AVG Internet Security 18.8.4084.0 should work, too. Maybe, there is an option to install the free version instead of the trial when starting its setup, or after the trial period ended, it should revert back to the free version as usual. BTW, I know Avast bought AVG some times ago. I think they want people to use their own, original products, and that is one more reason to remove such AVG installers. Doing so they have less rival products. Cheers, AstroSkipper
