For using this modified script, the @updateURL should be removed as the modification will be overwritten again with the next script update. I use the original script to receive regular updates and to see how the script develops. And all videos I tried to play worked without any problems in New Moon 28. No crashes and no resets after a few seconds as it was before. In any case, YouTube videos are working fine again in UXP browsers and especially in New Moon 28.3 points

You didn't read the previous posts: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1273128 https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1273143 https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1273152 Long story short. I have already identified the cause of the issue. It is an old bug already fixed in more recent Firefox versions, identified by @roytam1 who will try to fix it if possible.3 points

What is this? The main script inside the legacy extension turbolauncher.xpi.3 points
-
Everything works for me. The userscript Vorapis.user.js, the script patcher.user.js from the webextension, the webextension Project_VORAPIS_OBT_Test_0.8.10.26_(1727286007541).zip itself, the launcher webextension v3_get_old_youtube_layout-1.0.8.xpi and the legacy extension turbolauncher.xpi. The only issue I have is the missing suggestions in the YT search box while typing in UXP browsers.3 points

PHILIPS didn't remove anything, they have nothing to hide. Their drives are the best, telling this from a very long experience with them. https://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/SPD2200BK_00/dvd-rom-16x2 points

Or (probably), ATAPI is a more known name than Lite-on these days.2 points

Also looks like merging of Hitachi/LG, Dell/Thompson (and "ST" stands for storage), but it's just my guess. Needs further research.2 points

Due to my hardware specs, I can't run 1080p videos on my Windows XP computer, neither in browsers nor in external players. My comment refers to medium qualities up to 480p. But I also use this extension or a script version of h264ify to ensure avoiding unwanted codecs. And I disabled too demanding codecs via prefs.2 points

"ATAPI", never heard of that "Slimtype" looks more like a product line of DVD drives for notebooks, not an actual brand name.2 points

You didn't follow the discussion. The search box issue only appears when using the VORAPIS V3 frontend and not the original YT interface.2 points

Because "TSSTCorp" is a joint venture company of Toshiba and Samsung Electronics (simply merged). "Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshiba_Samsung_Storage_Technology1 point

Not here - in Serpent 52.9 22-9-2024 it's not working (buffering but not garbled picture anymore), but that's alright, h264ify makes 1080p videos work flawlessly.1 point

Thank you for this; I was actually looking to update the Python installation to run an OS-independent package of yt-dlp, but you you've the job already.1 point

What a bunch of useless w*****s! @NotHereToPlayGames You can save yourself the trouble and wasted time and download the patched VORAPIS V3 user script from my drive if you'll bother with it (I won't keep it updated though), basically the only difference compared to original linked at https://vorapis.pages.dev/product/v3/game_service/patcher/get_latest_client is that I removed referrerPolicy and mode parameters from fetch calls wherever they're set to strict-origin-when-cross-origin and cors respectively. They're supposed to be default behaviors of fetch anyway and UXP doesn't understand strict-origin-when-cross-origin. cors for mode appears to be OK. The player works, search box suggestions work and dislike count works as well! As at least some of us know, the latter comes from 3rd party Return YouTube Dislike.1 point

Hotmail OAuth2 was not functional in mailnews but Roy seems to have gotten it though there's still some bugs to work out.1 point
-
Yahoo is still working fine here, did you provide Hotmail Oauth2 code as well?1 point
-
Hi Roy, What's the status with Hotmail and OAuth2? It appears to be available but when I try to get login authorization from Microsoft for the accounts, either Pop or IMAP I get this message: "You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead." So it's not possible to set it up. Or are you still working on it?1 point

FreeTube is only available for Windows 10 and later which are of course not older NT-Family OSes. Still an interesting project. But unfortunately not for me as a die-hard Windows XP fan. BTW, I have reported the search box issue of VORAPIS V3 in UXP browsers to their issues on GitHub here: https://github.com/vorapis-yt/v3/issues/151 point

The original YouTube interface is simply crap. YouTube is a perfect example how to continuously update an awesome website to an awful one without considering the users. I've actually hated YouTube for years , but the Project VORAPIS with its old, classic frontend has brought the joy of YouTube back to me. That's the way it was and the way I like. But if VORAPIS V3 doesn't work for you properly for whatever reason, you can also use the extension uTube for watching YouTube videos in UXP browsers in a very resource-saving way. I additionally use uTube in New Moon 28 and Serpent 52. The install.rdf file has to be edited to make uTube compatible with NM and SP, though.1 point
-
Same, on a fresh profile. Also, New Moon and Serpent are nothing without Pale Moon and Basilisk. In any case, the original interface along with some scripts particularly tailored towards it (returning dislike count, bypassing age restriction without having to sign in) work, the rest are first world problems not worth spending too much of my energy on.1 point

TBH, there are more offline on demand scanners which are most recent in terms of engine and virus defhinitions. For example, eScanAV Anti-Virus Toolkit (MWAV) or RogueKiller Anti-Malware Free. The more rare ones are antimalware programmes with real-time protection in Windows XP. In any case, it is good to list other programmes for Windows XP here, whether they are offline scanners or fully-fledged antimalware programmes with real-time protection.1 point

In 2012+ mobos voltage is usually shown in BIOS. Voltage drops should be visible in any somewhat decent motherboard made after that year, for example my MSIB85 reports voltage fluctuations in real time.1 point
-
No "damage" to the RAM will happen, those are specifically designed for overclockers. Their aluminium cooling solution doesn't allow them to overheat. Voltage slightly increased by 0.5 percent won't magically kill them. No "greater physical consumption" will happen either.1 point
-
Those modules are very well protected, and their DDR3 slots, too, not to mention they are mounted in vertical positions in 99% of mobos.1 point

Well, there is mine. https://github.com/nicolaasjan/yt-dlp/releases/latest/download/yt-dlp_x86_Windows-XP.zip (manually uploaded; not part of the GitHub CI workflow) That said, I ran into the same problems as you did. Grabbed 'pyconfig.h' from a Py3.7 install and didn't have to change anything in it (there were no errors any more while compiling). Disclaimer: I'm not a programmer.1 point

Well, technically we aren't using their branding anymore since they just abandoned what we're using now. We now have a different product to theirs with different branding, which is most of what they wanted. Though there may still be some sort of trademark attached to their old branding. And Serpent isn't resolved though I don't think they are too pleased about us brand leeches either way (either we piggyback on their current unofficial branding or simply seize/gift ourselves their old branding). And New Moon could still evoke memories of Pale Moon (for an unfortunate few anyway).1 point

that's the accessibility libraries, official builds and my old builds used to have --disable-accessibility specified. I lost the build config and then it turns on that on compilation. yes it breaks XP support, for example, it loads DWM in link-time, which XP doesn't even have this DLL. same condition as hyperbola(i.e. no updates), as they aren't update their part, but UXP core still bring new function to them.1 point
