  5. Only if you agree to be a guinea pig. Again, it's not related to ungoogled, it's a basic flag in any chrome. "Tracking Protection feature in the stable version of Chrome on January 4, 2024, starting with 1 percent of users." https://www.thurrott.com/cloud/web-browsers/google-chrome/294652/google-to-push-forward-with-chrome-tracking-protection-in-2024

  6. Of course! I always use the most recent version of New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 unless a serious issue has been reported. But TBH, you can go back to previous releases at any time. So, no risk. You can only win.

  7. Try the most recent version of Serpent 52 (2024-02-24) using a fresh profile! If the 64-bit version still shows the issue, try the 32-bit version where GitHub's search function works in any case!

  12. Hi, bro. I don't have much to add, really, other than it is an improvement (as I expected). Clearly the developer, @win32 knows what he is doing. That said, it is chronium, so I use it only to visit known spyware, js bloated sites. So I completely agree with @Sampei.Nihira: for a minimum of privacy, you need ublock or similar, besides the conventional (as in old) flags I already reported about, in this same thread. If you use this (or any chromium-based browser, ungoogled included), you have to accept that the members of the e-oligopoly will have access to most of your browsing behavior, and so will those with access to their logs (echelon and such). I don't mind that (for instance, I use quad9 security for DNS), but don't like it, so I prefer to use sp52 or mypal68 where possible. Be well.

  14. Yeah Christopher Walken didn't age well at all. Speaking about going to the cinema or theater ... I've developed a irrational phobia ... I used to go as a kid but been a very very long time since.

  15. Is there any progress in fixing the broken MSFN post editor? For months, editing/updating of old posts is definitely a game of chance and in certain cases rather a torture. At this point, I should mention that I have a lot of posts which have to be updated on a regular base. Thus, I am particularly affected.

  18. The OP posted screenshot clearly tells - it's for the German version of Tuta. "s.u." in German means "see below". The information written below the title line is for the German version. Most likely works only for the Germans or someone located in Germany.

  19. Zoom will no longer support Windows 7 soon.
    1 point
  20. Indeed. As @ED_Sln says, the new version works in XP, including also the portable (binaries) version. I was actually surprised that such a classic app would stop supporting XP, but it is now reported as a bug of the previous version. Let's hope support is maintained.

  24. I’m not a big moviegoer and stayed away from theaters for about three years due to Covid-19, but I don’t like to wait when a major science fiction film comes out. You should try to conquer this phobia of yours. I understand that The Room Next Door starring Julianne Moore is now being filmed. You should resolve to see that at a theater when it comes out!

  25. Out of curiosity and just for my own peace of mind do you plan on removing taskbar functionality from StartAllBack when the classic taskbar code is unworkable or do you think you'll be able to do something like you did with the system tray (which is better than ever now!). Either way you are a brilliant engineer and I really thank you for all you do to make Windows better!

  26. EDIT: A few more questions: Should we enable the flag.. "Ungoogled" Supermium Mode A work in progress - this rolls all new privacy-protecting features in Supermium into one option – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, Fuchsia, Lacros #ungoogled-supermium Or is it too early to do such? Also; what do you recommend with the following: Tracking Protection for 3PCD Enables the tracking protection UI + prefs that will be used for the 3PCD 1%. – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, Fuchsia, Lacros #tracking-protection-3pcd DefaultEnabledDisabled Tracking Protection Rollback Flow Enables the tracking protection rollback flow – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, Fuchsia, Lacros #tracking-protection-onboarding-rollback-flow Third-Party Cookie Deprecation Trial Grants for Testing Controls creation of cookie access grants for the Third-Party Cookies Deprecation Trial. Please note that, even if enabled, this will still require #tracking-protection-3pcd to be enabled and a pref to be set, for it to have an effect. See https://developer.chrome.com/blog/cookie-countdown-2023oct/ for more details. – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, Fuchsia, Lacros #third-party-cookie-deprecation-trial Bounce Tracking Mitigations This flag controls bounce tracking mitigations. – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, Fuchsia, Lacros #bounce-tracking-mitigations Thank you guys for everything and thank you @win32 PS: I'd like to know what you, @dmiranda, think of this new version V122.0.6261.85 - I'm having amazing results thus far.

  28. I don't really have to use it either, must have been curious, so I put it on the smaller partition I have for testing Windows versions I don't daily-drive. Been' using it for a while, with the usual tweaks, switching back seemed to be too much bother. I hide Windows versions from each other, just in case, the Flintstones way, manually changing partition type with Linux's fdisk. The few programs I use work as usual. Not being able to drop files on taskbar programs' buttons is annoying though.

  29. I’m familiar with your opinion that cinema died around the turn of the century. Christopher Walken was certainly a great actor of the 20th century, but now his sunken eyes are a sad sight. The future of cinema (and everything else) belongs to the young, and the young are making Dune: Part Two a success: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/box-office-dune-part-two-younger-adults-audience-1235842993/ I want to put in a good word for actress Rebecca Ferguson, who I had never noticed before Part One. She plays Lady Jessica, the mother of the hero (or antihero) Paul Atreides, and she is very beautiful. In Part Two she looked absolutely stunning even with strange graffiti all over her face. I’m still scratching my head about that because I never cared for tattoos!? Jessica was not a character in Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, so it seems unlikely that Ferguson will be back for Part Three.

  30. Update notification! That's simply great. Just posted I can already announce an update. RogueKiller Anti-Malware has been updated to version 15.15.3 on 11.03.2024. Therefore, I've updated my new article. and my list. So, my statement that this programme is updated on a regular base seems to be correct. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  31. RogueKiller Anti-Malware RogueKiller is an antimalware programme by Adlice Software, headquartered in France, for advanced users capable of removing stubborn malware based on a list of signatures and heuristic analysis. A command line version is also available. It is thus able to detect and remove a broad range of known and unknown malware. Its capabilities make it an outstanding tool to eliminate the most resistant infections, like rootkits. Therefore, using RogueKiller is particularly recommended for malware removal, but it can also be used to ensure the operating system's integrity. Indeed, no risk of conflict with an existing antivirus is to be expected. RogueKiller Anti-Malware comes in three versions, Free, Premium and Technician. The Premium and the Technician editions are commercial. RogueKiller Anti-Malware is fully compatible with Windows XP. Features: Kills malicious programs and services. Drops malicious DLLs from running processes. Detects and kills hidden malicious programs. Find and remove malicious autostart entries. Find and remove Registry hijacks. Master Boot Record (MBR), Detects and remove hijacked DNS and host entries (HOSTS file). Feature comparison Free vs. Premium vs. Technician: Homepage: https://www.adlice.com/roguekiller/ Version number: 15.17.4 Date of release: 26.06.2024 System requirements: Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10 / Windows 11 Hardware requirements: A CPU with at least SSE2 instruction set. It can be used in the free version as an offline scanner and threats removal tool in addition to an already existing antimalware programme with real-time protection. If wanted, even in portable mode. Absolutely great is that it is still XP-compatible and updated on a regular base. Furthermore, the paid premium version is a real antimalware programme with real-time and ransomware protection. 32. I have now updated the article only because of a trick. The MSFN post editor is also completely broken for certain content that is manually quoted. The last months, any editing of especially older posts is a pure game of chance.

  33. ... Respectfully, "there" is off-topic , "here" it is NOT ... Actually, I did read chermany4ever's comment in the "roytam1 browsers" thread and specifically elected to respond to him inside the "proper" Supermium thread here, rather than there; and when I changed tab focus to this thread (to finish my reply), your "comment" there wasn't yet public/visible ; hence, I "continued on my merry way" ... 34. Update notification! CurrPorts has been updated on 13.12.2023 and is now available in version 2.77. It is still listed to be compatible with Windows XP. Accordingly, I'll update my article as soon as possible. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: My article about CurrPorts can't be updated at the moment due to the broken MSFN post editor. Maybe, one day when it has been fixed.

  36. Fortunately for me, I don't have to actually use the OS personally, on any of my personal systems. I already have the idea that if I ever had to go to Win 11, I'll probably use a Server SKU if there aren't (still) any shells available. Unfortunately, for the systems that I have to interact with (such as in this instance) we do not have the opportunity to use any sort of software that changes the OS, since those computers are used in manufacturing. While it is nice to know that people are still out there creating workarounds for Windows UX annoyances, I'm still suprised no one has attempted to make shell replacements. Even like a launcher-type thing that could be customized. Perhaps it is due to how much functionality is baked into explorer, but I haven't looked into it. Building a simple launcher is easy enough to do.

  38. That's one of the things I also hate about Windows 11. They did this basically to match Windows 11 design principles. They still allow the legacy context menu to be opened by pressing Shift while right clicking.
