Thanks for the information! I personally have never heard of it before. I found a review on MalwareTips Forums which is from 2022 and unfortunately not positive. The author does not recommend this security programme. Here is a link: https://malwaretips.com/threads/huorong-internet-security-2022.119308/ But one review is of course not the world.2 points

Screenshots won't do it real justice due the compression, about win7, yes, no way to tweak it to display normal fonts, Vista can be tweaked though.2 points

Hello @UCyborg! I compared your chrome.dll to my rebased one. The sizes are the same but the hashes are different. I thought libase uses the hash from the original dll file for rebasing. So why are the hashes different? Is it also dependent on the system? Or did you perform the rebasing manually with specific addresses?2 points

Small bug with the "remove device" icon (RC3) In fact, the "normal" icon works very well, but clicked to safely remove the device, there is always the icon until the device is removed, but if this icon is hidden, the location is empty and the empty slot is always present whether there is a device there or not Displayed icon : Hidden icon :1 point

Every video driver renders fonts differently. I'd start with searching the right one for you. It's a long path of trial and error.1 point

Those two add-ons do totally different things. uBlock filters unwanted junk out of the Web pages you download. Stylus lets you customize the appearance of Web pages (and more) by telling the browser how to display the elements on the page. You shouldn't expect Stylus to filter anything. It could make ads invisible, but your browser would still download them (and you'd still be tracked by them). And you shouldn't expect uBlock to make Web pages look exactly like you want. It could block unwanted style sheets or Web fonts but that's about it. Quit trying to use a hammer to turn a screw!1 point

Ok, can we count it as your version of those events then? The browser turns on the lights and spins up the disks, then the chirping sounds follows, and all that just because the browsers from that place are simply bored?1 point

Type, then hit @ and wait, it supposed to trigger, then start by typing the first letter of the profile you want to tag, right after @ without spaces. It will not work on old browsers, the minimum would be Chrome 99 (not sure exactly about the min. version). I'm currently on Iron 99.1 point

You're "done" because you have nothing to contradict to the facts scientifically (which is an expected behaviour on a technical forum), nor you can find any reports of the same behaviour in Chrome 115 Official Build.1 point

Supermium moves to the stable branch (version 119/120) at the end of this month when the next release will be made. This should reduce the number of upstream-inherited bugs. GDI rendering should be perfected for this release as well and there will be an option to disable prompts for "unsafe downloads" (and avoid having a sample of the downloaded file possibly being sent to Google). The GDI option in particular will have improved rendering of remote fonts over Vista-level DirectWrite.1 point

Of course! Sandboxie belongs to the topic of this thread and is already on my internal list. It was installed in all my Windows XP partitions from the very first. I use the last XP-compatible version 5.22 and I love it. I use it regularly for testing tools I do not trust at first sight. In the past, the best news about Sandboxie was that it no longer required a licence and was declared open source in 2020. https://web.archive.org/web/20200425220152/https://community.sophos.com/products/sandboxie/f/forum/119641/important-sandboxie-open-source-code-is-available-for-download1 point

Try again! The last days, their website was unavailable due to a certificate error. It seems to be fixed now. BTW, there was and is no need to open a new thread for an error with Legacy Update, actually. We already have two threads about WU/MU. Specifically for Windows XP: And for Windows in general: Kind regards and Merry Christmas, AstroSkipper1 point

The quotation is from here: http://www.jsifaq.com/SUBJ/tip4800/rh4851.htm (no longer available, only via archive.org). To fix such errors, you can try to replace the file ntdll.dll in both folders, System32 and dllcache, by a fresh, working one! Your existing file is most likely corrupted due to any reason (bad image, scratched or badly copied CD or DVD, and so on). Anyway! Your installation medium is probably corrupted, and I wouldn't trust in any case. If one file is corrupted, there still might be more. Therefore, try to create a fresh medium maybe by using a different computer!1 point

Glad it finally worked for you! But in terms of Windows XP, my guide "General and specific solutions for problems regarding AU/WU/MU in Windows XP" is completely sufficient. And by the way, I personally have a complete, offline update archive with all updates for Windows XP. For the German edition, of course! I don't like relying on Microsoft's update servers, where everything concerning abandoned Windows operating systems could be deleted at any time.1 point

If you're interested , I can share basic survival skills and tactics which I had been taught in the French Army (one of the most powerful armies in the world). We were trained how to survive in absolutely nightmarish conditions and still hit the enemy. I understand MSFN is not the right place though . Just thought it's tough times and the western media like twitter could be the victims of russian cyberterrorists , so all means of communications are very important and our dear moderators will allow to do it. I think the White House already warned about that. Also, if I suddenly disappear , means my papers got accepted and I'm on the road. I still hope I return and buy the black Titan ... if not , you're an interesting penpal , I wish you all the best and to survive without damages !1 point

Maybe yes , maybe no. Why ? They could think the dems are too weak to retaliate with nukes. Did you notice the perfect timing ? The reds activated themselves pretty fast during Biden in the Office . Now do a research and you will see who met with the soviets in 1979 , days (or a day?) before the soviet invasion in Afghanistan , that's right , Biden ! Coincidence ? I'm not saying he gave them some form of green light . But with his recent "minor incursion" ... lol . Anyways , I just think they feel he's weak. Germany sunk in their stupid guilt over the war , China is their "friend" , France wants to live in peace and make money . Who will fight them ? Italy ? Holland ? Denmark ?1 point

These are all WW2 echoes and gravely wrong decisions made by the UK and US that landed these awful consequences upon us. In case you don't know , I'm from that part of France which fought against the soviets in WW2. We still have some of our honourable heroes alive. This is a huge mystery for me, why UK and US both helped Russia to crash Germany ? I'm not an American , I can't understand . Can you ? From my perspective : 1 - Germany desperately wanted/needed russian resources for their economy .(Gas, oil, ore, etc). 2 - So why the hell did they not allow Germany to take control over Russia ? We would definitely sleep well at nights ! 3 - Were they that much afraid Germany would occupy them too ? 4 - And let's imagine , what would be the worst thing to happen , even if they did ? It would be like Germans occupy what's almost German already . I'm sure you know the US is like 87% of Europeans , and Germans are like what, on the first place ? The second ? Yes, I understand there are also Dutch , Norwegians , English , French but we are all from the Germanic tribes - we are all relatives . I find it insanely hard to beleive , no , I can't even imagine an "evil" German soldier with an MP-38 chasing US children , like they show us in propaganda films. Germans are civilised European people , intelligent and with high values and moral. Life is all about experiences and perception , so let's imagine Russia occupies the US ... Would you prefer to date a russian woman over a gorgeous germanic blond ? Would you prefer to drive a russian car instead of a cool german one ? Would you prefer to wear "ushanka" and russian boots over the nice german leather ones? Would you prefer to sit near a russian couple in the restaurant over a nice'n'quet german one ? Would you imagine germans from Germany nuke Germans in PA or TX ? Obviously not. Would you imagine russians from Russia nuke Germans in PA or TX ? (for you to answer). Would you prefer to buy AMD over Nvidia ? (obviously a nice joke). This is all [of course] if the russians don't execute you right on the streets, like they do now in Ukraine or any other country they inavade . And if [by some miracle] you will be allowed to work for them for a couple of rublies. PS. I'm in no way promoting any occupation of the US. The United states are our friends/relatives. Speaking of the 80's books/movies , Red Dawn 1984 is a good one and highly recommended . Just a scene from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qc8jJ0TjSY1 point

In the light of recent events in the World , and especially in Europe , I have an announcement to make. Looks like things don't go well and I'm going to suspend/limit my activity on MSFN , as I may be joining the volunteers. I served in the Army and this is nothing new to me . Of course this would be last resort only (due to my age), but still can take several russkies with me to Hell. https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/27-february-denmark-says-will-let-volunteers-join-foreign1 point

Well, look at the recent broadcast on their main state "channel 1". Kiselev (their main host/propaganda leader, "the talking head of Kremlin") says : "In total, our submarines are capable of launching more than half a thousand nuclear warheads, which is guaranteed to destroy the countries of the United States and NATO in addition." Now look at the screengrab , there's "Prikaz" , which means "order" in English . Why would they include this "prikaz" word ? Means the order has been given already ?1 point

Jesus Christ , a cruise missile just fired at Ukraine from Belarus . People , do you realise how serious this is ? Cruise missiles flying over Europe !!! Another Russia-Belarus war crime. No he's not , he is just an ordinary KGB worker and all of those is in his russian genes , also it was all part of the plan right from the very beggining and Europe is next if NATO will continue snot chewing any further. Russians have known for decades/centuries what Putin and every their leader is. They're "ashamed" now because the world is seeing their dirty laundry hanging in the wind. They're momentarily embarrassed, yet they remain defective, dishonest and dangerous people. OK , in the news our western media say "Putin has brutally invaded Ukraine" . And who is sitting in the tanks ? Who launches thermobaric weapons ? Who bombs the peaceful cities ? Who all those hundreds of thousands small putin's minions are ? Yes , they are russians/soviets . And there's nothing that prevents them to refuse ! They got weapons in their hands for God's sake ! If you don’t , you are complicit in this invasion and you are a war criminal . There's nothing Russian lamenting can do to turn that back. And the world isn't interested in indulging "how upset" Russians are. Russians needed to stand up and oust Putin in 2000 when he flattened Grozny to the zero level with carpet bombings. Exactly like they needed to oust Stalin in 1939 for the bloodiest war in Finland or occupation of Poland and Yeltsin for the bloody war in Chechnya . I have no faith in them whatsoever. Remove Putin and they will "elect" a new one in a matter of minutes. Only total disarmament , then dividing Russia into several NATO controlled (UK, US , Belgium , Holland , France , etc.) zones with 100% external governance . Russia (along with Belarus, which is 100% helping russians with this yet another bloody war) should not be allowed to have military and/or weapons of any kind, except rubber sticks to calm down their peasants. All we are seeing from some folks in Russia now is how "sorry" they are. Useless.1 point
