Hello everyone. I just finished re-adding GDI to Supermium. At first it would only work in --single-process mode, but I got it working in standard mode by ensuring that FontCache objects have the Skia GDI font manager when GDI is enabled. Then I want to fix TLS, readd D3D9 DXVA support, and link Supermium against a DLL with implementations of many newer functions. I have fixed my PMs if you are interested.

Reading Italian is not one of my strongest abilities, but I'm pretty sure by "disco" they didn't mean the music style. Memoria or disco wording means they suspect your HDD or RAM be at fault, which could also point to the PAE patch. PAE patch doesn't get friendly with Nvidia drivers, the combination of PAE+Nvidia drivers don't go well with network drivers.

Only out of curiosity, and of course only if you want to share this piece of info, what is the actual reason to have a 10G ethernet connection? jaclaz

I think that makes some sense too - each open tab needs the chain of links followed to get to the current page so the back button (and forward button after you use the back button) will work. And saving those on disk preserves the chain even if the browser is closed or crashes. It even makes some sense to preserve the chain even after a tab is closed - that lets "Undo Close Tab" work without losing the closed tab's chain. But on many modern Web sites, you can rack up dozens, scores, even hundreds of clicks that lead back to the same page! (Think of a browser-based email interface, for instance.) Do we really need to keep every one of those in history, permanently? Is anyone seriously going to go back 100 clicks? There should be a pref to delete/reuse the oldest links once a chain gets over, say, 30 links. And consider this - you back up several pages, then follow a new link. The "old" forward chain from that point is now inaccessible; you can't get to it with the forward button any more. But it's still preserved in history (forever - or at least until your HDD dies - unless you use a history-purging add-on). I think FF combined the browser history and the chain of links functions into the same database, and that made it complicated to prune dead branches; so they just got lazy and said "keep everything," leaving database pruning and garbage collection to extensions. That's not necessarily a bad solution, but I suspect a lot of folks never even think to install such an extension. It would have been better if FF had included some basic database pruning/garbage collection functionality in the browser itself.

PassIFox is a good choice to retrieve passwords from KeePass. Especially if there are several accounts for one website. It works with both New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 (and presumably in Serpent 55, too). However, if you also want to store logins in KeePass, you have to go another way. I actually use KeeFox in Serpent 52 for this. It doesn't work in New Moon 28. Both, PassIFox and KeeFox, require special plugins that have to be copied into the Plugins subdirectory in the KeePass programme folder. PassIFox needs the plugin KeePassHttp whereas KeeFox needs the plugin KeePassRPC. Working combinations for KeePass 2.43 I am using myself are: PassIFox 1.2.2 + KeePassHttp 1.8.4.2 KeeFox 1.8.0 + KeePassRPC 1.14.0 These combinations will probably work with more recent versions of KeePass, too. However, arbitrary combinations between extension and plugin do not work, which is the real reason for those listed above. At the moment, KeePass 2.54 (2023-06-03) is the most recent one and still compatible with Windows XP although the system requirements listed on the KeePass download page are Windows 7 and above. I just installed 2020-01 and will be able to test ASAP. I'm really surprised that it would fare worse with a higher update level, considering it's working good on Windows Vista (sandbox included!) and 8.

I had originally tested with a Windows 7 install with a low update level, but I have received complaints about it not working with ESU updates. Do you have those? For that reason I will also start testing (and debugging) with ESU updates.

It should work on regular Windows 7 with SP1 (it always worked in my VM with nothing but SP1, but some users complained about it not loading because of missing delay-load module; my second release should solve that). Vista needs the extended kernel however.

Results : 391.35 works fine, but I didn't like the way it represents the colours and its contrast is way too high. Otherwise - fine ! 399.24 is one hell of a glitchy piece of crap. Interferes with my good ol' sound card. It booted up fine (without the NVCPL, of course) . Played a DX11 game for 1 hour fine. Then started to watch Octopussy 1983 using MPC-HC and look at the crash errors. (TDR had happened) Happens at random intervals. Also 399 doesn't like Chrome.

As 398.11 seems very hit and miss, I would try 391.35 or 399.24.

It should not be a problem, although I am trying to get many new drivers working at this time as well. Not just the newer 4xx drivers for the newer Pascal revisions and RTX, but also for some other unfortunate devices I've come into lately like WLAN dongles that only support 7 or even 10.
