  1. You didn't. I'm not sure how much the web browser plays the part, I suspect not much, but I honestly don't care. When you're dealing with software issues all the time, you become apathetic towards them. The only real and permanent solution - throw it all out and smash it to pieces. And I mean all of it, computers in all forms along with the storage media. I noticed burst in "people going nuts" just about when May ended, like customers at work were crazier than usual and someone robbed the post office in Lendava. And there was news about the other guy that lost his s*** because the girl he was into wasn't returning love. I forgot all about it, he must be young, early 20s at least. Perhaps the reality hasn't hit him yet. So not all violence is "mental issues", that we have taken from this thread I presume, just old fashioned calculated deliberate purposeful evil. Also the word recently got out about violent incidents from the staff against the patients on the psychiatric clinic located in the craphole called Ljubljana. I don't know, the history repeats itself, the only thing that will break the cycle is the higher force. A big object from outer space, dare I hope? What is considered advanced age for humans? 60+?

  2. Nope. It was more of a sarcasm/joking/pun/I'm-bored-let's-post-something thread. I would suspect their are much better sources for the types of info you reference and that MSFN will not likely become that source.

  5. No, I certainly did not write it that many times! What happened was that I clicked the submit button multiple times because I didn't get any feedback the first time, so ended up doing it again in another tab, where it did respond as it should. That's the issue with software in general, in development for decades and never works right. I also still get the notification popup at times after logging in about the PM I read and replied to years ago.

  8. Steam is long dead, my friend. I'm afraid it doesn't work anymore as it used to before in 2019-2020. Let me refer you to this topic.

  9. +1 I applaud your words about Windows 7. But unfortunately, Firefox's support for Windows 7 is coming to an end soon. See this article. As for your issue about too much memory consumption, multi-process mode is probably the reason behind this.

  10. Undoubtedly a memory leak! I checked it at my desktop computer but wrote it later using my tablet. Of course, I meant 2.14.0 and 2.13.2 respectively. Sorry for being incorrect! I hate that. Mea culpa! And thank you very much for your information! I used the forum search before but I must have overlooked your solution. I'm not that fit at the moment. And now I've infected you, too. Sorry again! PS: Original, faulty post has been corrected!

  11. I don't often say much but... This topic should stay open indefinitely because we have no way of knowing how it could help someone. I did not go through all sixteen pages of this topic, but can anyone tell me offhand if resources for someone in crisis are posted within? Again, you never know... Debby

  14. @AstroSkipper (all links produced via a Forum Search, BTW ) : Two ways to tackle this: 1. In "about:config", toggle "dom.abortController.enabled" to false, restart Serpent 52 and then installing the userscript from that GH page will work (just tested it now ); but the abort API is still needed by GitHub to properly function, so, after installing the userscript, reset the pref and, again, restart St52... 2. "Patch" the actual extension in below fashion: "./background/index.js" (a minified JS file): -!(!e.AbortSignal||!browser.windows) +(!!e.AbortSignal&&!browser.windows) Again, VM-2.14.0 works as expected in actual FxESR 52.9.x (it doesn't have itself the abort API), the breakage in St52 is due to MCP's (imperfect) abort API implementation inside UXP (FTR, VM's devs are almost oblivious to St52's existence ...).

  15. To manage my user scripts, I use the legacy extension Greasemonkey for Pale Moon in New Moon 28 and the webextension Tampermonkey in Serpent 52. Everything runs well so far. Since the webextension Violentmonkey is mentioned here in the forum again and again, I took a closer look at it and installed the last compatible version 2.14.0 in a fresh profile under Serpent 52. Unfortunately, I found out that it does not work properly. The settings cannot be accessed via the toolbar button. Clicking onto the toolbar button to create a new script does not work either. After a lot of testing, it seems that the last fully working version is 2.13.2. @VistaLover I know you have been using Violentmonkey for some time. What version do you currently have installed? And is it fully functional? Edit: I corrected a memory leak inside my brain and corrected the version numbers. Maybe, I am too tired the last weeks.

  17. Using Windows Automatic Startup Repair with Extended Kernel (or any other Windows modification that requires disabling integrity checks) Warning: Never use Vista installation DVD to repair your multi-boot configuration if you have newer versions of Windows installed: Vista setup DVD can only repair Vista bootloader, while the Windows 7 one can repair all of Vista, 7, 8(.1),10 and maybe 11 too. In this guide I assume that you use Winodws 7’s DVD. If you use Windows Automatic Startup Repair launched from a Windows installation DVD (which is btw a sole example of automatic repair tool of any kind that is worth using) to for example fix your multi-boot configuration and you have the Extended Kernel Installed on the next boot you will be presented with this: This doesn’t mean the auto-repair tool did something wrong, but that it restored the value of “nointegritychecks” back to its default. 1. Insert the Windows 7 installation disc and boot from it 2. Press Shift F10 to open CMD 3. Type bcdedit and click Enter 4. Copy the identifier value for the Windows Vista boot entry (it can be “current” or a long resumeobject code): 5. Run the following command without quotes: “bcdedit /set {identifier} nointegritychecks yes”, where identifier is your code. For example “bcdedit /set {aaaaaaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaa} nointegritychecks yes”, “bcdedit /set {current} nointegritychecks yes”. 6. Reboot, enjoy

  18. Let's hope that's not the case, Roy. Always grateful for your releases... and that's an understatement. I wanted to tell you all that I have been experimenting with Windows 7. It seems to be a reliable, stable, lightweight operating system. It runs smoothly. In fact, it boots faster than our dear old XP. I've slapped it around a bit and it holds up very well to the abuse. Firefox is still compatible, although the latest version does not support some extensions that I use and miss very much. Another problem is that it consumes a lot of memory... a lot. Having 4 or 5 tabs open means more than 2gb of ram gone. I've taken the opportunity to test the latest version of MyPal -thanks Feodor- and it seems to work very well. At memory level it seems similar and I still could not test if the extensions I use are compatible, but the good news is that Whatsapp Web works. Still... I could not get used to Windows 7. It offers some compatibility but several key programs are no longer compatible. So for now I'm sticking with XP.

  19. Did you choose "Hex-values" tab while searching for it at Find/Replace dialog? I had the same error appearing until I realized I was at "Text-string" tab and not at "Hex-values" tab.

  20. I don't think so, there was just NotHereToPlayGames and and six cars in my mind. Didn't think of any potential other people in his household. Marriage - yeah, I'm a loner and it won't happen and even if I wasn't, doesn't seem like something I'd want to bother with. Being like that for most of my existence, I imagine it would be hard to adapt to different patterns, playing single-player mode all the time. People are crazy, should be healthier to be alone anyway, LOL. Ironically, I work a job that involves dealing with them, remotely at least, but it's still totally against my character. The things we do for the money...

  21. AFAIK, it would be possible for it to miss something if ran at document-start. Maybe it's different when dealing with HTML's head, but it's a documented fact that only after document-end (after DOMContentLoaded event is dispatched), entire page's HTML as received from the web server is surely parsed.

  24. Those are from my two VMs since I was replying to UCyborg that tried Tiny10 in a VM. I've never actually tried Tiny10 and agree with @Tripredacus that is should be considered warez. I use WinReducerEX and it falls in the same class of "tools" as nLite, vLite, NTLite, and others that I don't recall the name of offhand. I also place these "tools" in the same category of "extended kernels" and feel MSFN is not the place to discuss details on how to use these "tools" to customize install media. "But I'm no lawyer", lol.

  26. Yes, seems like a very logical thing to do, go old. They just don't make *honest* wattage anymore. Here's the legenadary *TRUE* 600W PSU they used in Fujitsu Siemens of that era, I think up to 2010 or so. Fujitsu Siemens Power Output Max. Load +5Vsb 3.0A -12V 0.8A +12V1 18A +12V2 18A +12V3 18A +12V4 18A +5V 30A +3.3V 36A 12v x 4 lines , all lines are independent. (not virtaul crap, like in most modern ones) For reference. He needs to look for smth like this. https://www.atxpowersupplies.com/600-watt-power-supply-FSP600-80GHN.php

  27. Unfortunately you cannot create Amperes without using Watts, if we go for: 30A@3.3V 30A@5V 40A@12V those imply 30*3.3+30*5+40*12=99+150+480=729 Watts, so a 750 W would be more suitable, but newer 750W ones generally speaking don't have as well more juice on the 3.3V and 5V than the mentioned 20-25A, so if the requirements are confirmed, OP has no other option than finding an used PSU , it seems like the extra Wattage on recent PSU's goes all on the 12 V rail. 28. that injunction doesn't exclude from liability of transferring prohibited contents. so in worst situation ISP may just shutdown internet. (and since my web server's geolocation is also HK so people may not able to download my builds that are located in my server)

  34. While theory is good, and @jaclaz is the local Guru, I had these parts in the past. GeForce 8800 GTX (at stock, no OC) is 155W minimum, under full load it would be like 170-180, I had that card myself, hot and power hungry. Keep in mind, that old beast has NO power saving features, so it will still consume a lot, even when fully idling. Intel Pentium D 945 is almost 100W at load. They will simply take too much on the power lines, especially on the 12v line. I'd consider a better PSU, like 500W or 550W, minimum. EDIT: I'd suggest to look at the models with at least 38 Amps power ratings on the 12v line.

  35. Because internet service providers have joint liability on that injunction. Safest move for them will be simply cut down internet connections.

  36. That's what usually is said in terms of XP and Vista. Partly true, partly not! I think we already know all arguments. My installation is very old. It did not register itself in Security Center. I can't say what would happen if I did a fresh installation. In this case, it is a proper name and is always written as the author intended, regardless of spelling. We don't really want to go into further linguistic considerations, do we? Apart from that, it would be unfortunately off-topic.
