  1. What is it? OldNewExplorer is the Windows 10 (and Windows 8.1, and 8) shell extension / tweaker which can undo "improvements" to file browsing made in newer Windows version. Everything is optional for your liking. - Restore devices / drives grouping Everything is 'Devices and drives'. That's stupid! O-N-E can restore grouping which made sense in Win7/8. - Restore libraries / remove folders Remove all those folders which were unoptionally added into Windows 8.1 This PC folder and put the libraries back to their place, without registry hacking / breaking apps. - Restore command bar / remove Ribbon Because some people consider it an abomination. - Restore details pane at bottom Same reason; reclaim useful horizontal space. - Improve styling Get rid of some Win7 stuff here and there; improve styling with some built-in visual styles. For themers / skinners, O-N-E can help to override a lot of hardcoded styling in Windows 8, maybe even Start screen! Download https://tihiy.net/files/OldNewExplorer.rar TEST VERSION READ BELOW 100% FREE Stupid FAQ - This is a TEST version, no installer. Potentially dangerous too! - This is for Windows 8.1. Also should work for Windows 8 as well, though 8.1 options do not apply there; - No changes are enabled by default. If something does not apply, try logging off / restarting explorer.exe; - Install is for all users, settings are per-user. For long thoughful posts use email.

  3. I see, 360Chrome v13.5 always does something different with one empty tab opened. Today, it uses 100 MB and tomorrow, it will use 500 MB. Sorry, no, your facts and values are useless if they only apply in your system. My little proof shows the inadequacy of your statements. And, who cares how much this browser consumes in your system. Much more important is how it behaves in general. By the way, capital letters are always used by those who shout, and there is absolutely no reason for that. It is rather impolite. There is a nice saying in Germany: "Wer schreit, hat Unrecht." Translated: "Who shouts is wrong."

  4. You should try chrome 102 (which I'm currently on) then. It needs a PC with 16GB, at the very least.

  5. I am glad that with 360Crome 13.5, there is a browser in Windows XP that can load many Googlized and heavy web pages the UXP browsers cannot handle in terms of JavaScript & Co. You did a great job in removing telemetry crap and translating Chinese strings in the past. Thanks for that again, @NotHereToPlayGames! Frankly, I hate to bring you down to earth in your praise of 360Crome 13.5. But, I'm a mathematician, I am always trying to find true statements, verifying or falsifying them, and I'm very good in any calculation. In order to disprove your statement, I use the principle of a counter-example. Your statement: I'm showing 360Chrome v13.5 with only the start tab open to consume 126 MB RAM. My assertion: 360Chrome v13.5 with only an empty tab opened consumes more than 450 MB. Proof: I disabled all my extensions in 360Chrome v13.5 and closed all tabs except one empty tab. I restarted the browser. Here is a screenshot while 360Chrome v13.5 is running. Here is a screenshot of CleanMem after closing 360Chrome v13.5: The RAM usage is shown in two different ways, by CleanMem and Process Hacker. My calculation: First method: Determination of RAM consumption by subtracting two RAM consumption values (360Chrome opened and closed) MEM1 = "Memory used while running 360Chrome v13.5" MEM2 = "Memory used after closing 360Chrome v13.5" RAMUSAGE = "RAM usage of 360Chrome v13.5 with all extensions disabled and only one empty tab opened" RAMUSAGE = MEM1 - MEM2 = 990.70 MB - 522.38 MB = 468.32 MB > 450 MB Second method: Determination of RAM consumption by adding all process usage values There are five processes: 360Loader.exe 4.75 MB 360chrome.exe 124.11 MB 360chrome.exe 113.60 MB 360chrome.exe 115.07 MB 360chrome.exe 119.43 MB Total: 476.96 MB > 450 MB Conclusion: With only one empty tab opened and all extensions disabled, your little darling tragically consumes more than 450 MB. Therefore, your statement is wrong, and my assertion is true. q.e.d. Unfortunately, the truth is this browser is a RAM eating machine at its best. If I enable a few extensions and open one or two more tabs, everything gets much worse, RAM consumption increases enormously, and my system is blocked and no longer responds. For users, having a huge amount of RAM in their computers, no problem at all, of course, but for the others ... Truth be told, I don't know where you get your values from, but in any case, they have nothing to do with reality. Such "facts" are meaningless! Sorry to say that! For me, and I speak only for myself here, 360Chrome v13.5 is not really a no-brainer win. But, using this browser with only one tab opened is possible, of course. And no offence, only real facts and the truth! Kind regards, AstroSkipper

  6. I'm fine as well. and that's good to hear. That's nice for you, dude. You're really having a good living there at France. Meanwhile, it's the opposite for me here. I wish I could visit France, especially Paris. Such a beautiful city. I mean, you were actually very calm at that time really.

  12. I didn't buy any new hardware in decades !!! Except for HDDs , maybe. I'm not rich, also I have no need for that. The last purchase was a 2015 year videocard I bought dirty and used was for 40 Euro or so . Yes , I know it was like 1000 Euro in 2015 (this fossil called GTX Titan X). But then again, our prices went down when the russkie dealers of used hardware had to leave (which is so cool !!). Before it would be like 100-150 Euro or so.

  13. Did stumble into this -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeFFyg3ZJow I would recognize it blindfolded, I skipped around and only played snippets, but make no mistake, that is "my" version of 360Chrome with the XP Theme and the fixed status bar icons.

  16. MiniBrowser is based on Chrome 87 so it is one version "newer" but with only the start tab open, I'm showing it to consume 214 MB RAM. 360Chrome v13.5 seems like a no-brainer WIN to me

  19. Will start to replace With a healthy suppliment of B Complex with the focus on Vit B6. This helps some to taper off such meds. Under normal circumstances, these meds help many, but not THIS (addictive) personality. I have strong history but am back to square 1 and on 1 AD and The GABA. Unfortunately. I'm on Haldol and will have to get the poision out of my body. Sorry about grammer errors.

  20. Hey there, how are you? How are things going for you in France? Everything is ok? I hope so! Also, I know this is old, but I still have to apologize for it. Sorry for being too harsh with you recently about my English. You were right when you said I didn't learn English fully (I'm still studying it though), I even admit that I was wrong when I said I fully mastered English! Also, that reply to my post shows great support to @XPerceniol, and I liked that reply!

  26. my ArcticFox 40 build is a "normal" build so it requires SSE2 my Firefox 28 build is plain VC2005 build so it doesn't require SSE/SSE2. my RetroZilla 2.2 is plain VC6 build so it doesn't require SSE/SSE2. my Palefill Polyfill 1.23 mod changes only install.rdf to allow SP55 to install. and the question of replacing GHLpf 1.2.19.3 is a "no", but I don't have decent idea on updating GHLpf for now.

  27. No, there are still problems, like the update descriptions in the Update History, or the torubleshooter. But we're about to finish that, thanks to @WinFX. V4 has sadly nothing new, and the getmanifest.asp problem is a very big problem... Btw, @maile3241 and @ByQuadCore are working on how to use Windows Update v5 / v6 with the client.asmx from WSUS. I am personally working on all WU versions. FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP RESTORING THESE OLD VERSIONS OF WINDOWS UPDATE: I will release Windows Update v5 in a zip as soon as it is fully restored. If you want more information, send me a Private Message (if it cannot fit in this topic).

  32. FAQ: Q: Having audio distorted when watching Twitter/etc.? A: Please try turning on "Firefox compatibility" in options dialog or either "general.useragent.compatMode = 2" or "general.useragent.compatMode.firefox = true" in about:config and reload the page. Q: Can't play H264 clips? (for PM27/KM76/FF45) A: Download following packages for your browser edition(32bit/64bit) and extract DLLs to same place as palemoon.exe lives. 32bit LAV dlls are in separated package (extracted from K-Lite codec pack 13.5.5) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav.7z Just in case if you have an older processor which has no SSE instruction set support: 32bit NoSSE (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-mmx.7z 32bit No ASM (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build, if build above doesn't work on your processor) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-noasm.7z 64bit LAV dlls are in separated package (LAV Filters 64bit 0.70.2) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav64.7z Q: AV1 Support? (for UXP-based applications except mailnews) A: You need to enable "media.av1.enabled" in about:config Q: VP9 Support? (for PM27) A: VP9 works if async MSE option is unchecked and "Enable MSE for WebM Video" checked in options. Q: Extensions/Themes not working after updating binaries. A: If you encounter extensions not showing icon, clicking options button of extension causing browser unresponsive, etc. please try following actions: 1.a Kill palemoon.exe process(es) 1.b Copy whole extensions folder out of profile folder (to somewhere else for example, desktop) 1.c Restart browser without restoring previous sessions 1.d Goto about:addons page 1.e Drop XPI files from the copied-out extensions folder to about:addonss page One-by-One. 1.f After all XPI files are dropped and installed/updated, restart browser Q: Virus detected? A: Tell your anti-virus program to exclude palemoon.exe and/or plugin-container.exe. Some anti-virus heuristic engines (for example symantec's sonar engine) is too sensitive to palemoon.exe/plugin-container.exe network activities. Q: Where's your patches for compiling my own? A: Please visit the link above "FAQ:". Latest source patch files are named "sources_patches_YYYYMMDD.7z" in that page. Q: basilisk browser showing basic pages in GMail? A: set these to "true" in about:config general.useragent.compatMode.firefox general.useragent.compatMode.gecko Q: Should I let official Pale Moon and "New Moon" both using same profile (at the same time / alternatively)? A: it is not recommend to do that, as they have different NSS security library, which has different encryption procedure to the saved password database. Same profile being "touched" by different gecko/goanna applications may cause unexpected behaviors. If you want to launch both Pale Moon and "New Moon" / Basilisk and "Serpent" / etc. at the same time, one of them should be in "--no-remote" portable mode. Q: How to change User Interface language? A: Please see this post: Q: Portable Loader? A: You can always use official portable launcher with my binaries, or you can use my simple portable loader written in NSIS: Q: How to install extensions/themes in BNavigator browser? A: Please check this post out: (EDIT: you may need to change minVersion to 0.9.0a1 as upstream changed version to a lower value after this guide existed) Q: I want to verify if archive is not changed by others! A: from 30 October 2019, new archives will have ".asc" GPG detached signature. You can download signature separately by appending ".asc" (without quotation marks) after the archive URL. You can get my public key by following instructions in this post: Q: I'm getting 0xC000001D error when starting Serpent/UXP-ia32 or NM28-ia32 browser! A: your processor does not support CMOV instruction. VC2015 IA32 build requires CMOV instruction support. here is a list of processors with CMOV instruction support: - Intel: Pentium Pro or later - AMD: K7 (original Athlon/Duron) or later - VIA: C7 or later - Transmeta: all CPUs are capable to run SP52-ia32/NM28-ia32. - Cyrix/IBM: 6x86MX or later, MediaGXm(MediaGX-S) or later - National Semiconductor/AMD: Geode GX or later - DM&P/Vortex86: Vortex86DX3 or later Q: I need WebAssembly support! A: for NM28/SP52, go to about:config and enable javascript.options.wasm Q: Why you still keeping on version 28? will you have a version 29 build? A: please have a look on this post: Q: but is it up to date? A: please have a look here:
