Beta testing of ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 As far as I can see, the beta test of ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 can be started tomorrow, on Sunday. First of all, some important information for my beta testers. Based on the experiences from the last and, for me, very first beta test, here are a few small rules to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The beta test will be performed publicly. Only the download link of my archive will be provided via PM, and all possible fixes, too. Any problems, questions or suggestions of improvement should be posted and discussed here in this thread to keep the others informed and involved. Post both, positives and negatives, it doesn't matter, I am tough! Keep me informed from time to time what's going on in testing and provide results! Any feedback is welcome and important! The targeted OS is Windows XP Professional SP3 with or without POSReady updates. You can also test the program in Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, but in this case I can't help or fix problems if the issue is caused by the 64 Bit architecture. The reason for that is I do not have this OS, and I can't install it. My computer is a 32 Bit machine. More information tomorrow! Cheers, AstroSkipper2 points

Hello, I compiled and made the updated tor.exe work on XP. Test it if you like. XP support officially ended in the fall of 2021, if I'm not mistaken. Or 2020. https://github.com/artenax/tor-xp/releases One Core API libraries provide the missing functions: KERNEL32.DLL AcquireSRWLockExclusive InitializeConditionVariable InitializeSRWLock ReleaseSRWLockExclusive SleepConditionVariableSRW WakeAllConditionVariable WakeConditionVariable SHLWAPI.DLL > MPR.DLL WNetRestoreConnectionA1 point

Compiling golang code is very easy. Install golang, add it to the PATH. Go into working folder and write go build. In case of cross compilation Linux>Windows: export GOARCH=386 export GOOS=windows go build But the last golang which installs and creates XP compatible code is go 1.10 (very old). Newer versions of go are not compatible with XP, unfortunately. I managed to build psiphon command line with go 1.10 for xp. And some people have patched and built the latest dnscrypt.1 point

I will try Lol.. Enjoying the read thus far, and as you can see I go backward from end to start (I'm backwards) See... hard for me to stay on topic. Kidding aside: 5/26 is all I can get thought today and will be hopeful and thank you for your hard work!1 point

Likely won't help much, but sometimes this helps a little as well. https://techgenix.com/aquicktiptoprocesssystemidletasksforcefully/ Also: I do enjoy reading that site for news. https://techgenix.com/top-tech-news/ ~Off Topic~ This is about as good as I can get it for 360 V13 and I am running videos and they are a little choppy but leave the mouse alone and don't touch anything, and don't move at all ... hahahaha! Oh, and.. I DO admit I'm having svchost issues and I'm loading some invalid drivers or something. At chkdsk c: /f/x At every boot, so keep up on that too and see if you can bring that down, as well, could help. Also keep in mind, I'm dealing with failing hard drive and bad sectors.1 point

Hi there ... I assume you're speaking regarding 360 V13?! V11 and DC Browser won't skip and I'm only rolling with 2GB of ram and hardly any fonts nowadays and tweaked to the hills Lol ... Please try this Firemin or Wise Tray (memory cleaner - again, only extract that application from the zip file) and see if they help a little, but no miracles either way on V13 as even @Dave-H and @AstroSkipper mentioned (as well as others) its a recourse hog and when I need to use it, just reduce the priority of other background applications and/or processes to the lowest priority. Windows Explorer is pretty high as its normal priority unless I change it. right click on your process and you can change and lower them and it will help a little with V13 Good luck PS: The only reason I'm running the spoolsv.exe is because I need to print with my HP Printer today; otherwise, I kill that off and (of course) that taskmgr.1 point

Hi @ADMM! I use Firemin 6 with different browsers. It is an useful tool if you are low on RAM resources and works with nearly all browsers, AFAIK. The purpose of this tool is to reduce the RAM usage of the browser controlled by Firemin. The most recent version Firemin 8 seems not to be compatible anymore, either. If you can't find a download link of Firemin 6, I can upload this version for you. It's open source. Maybe, it can help with poor sound quality if it is caused by the lack of free RAM. You have to test it, of course. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

I think .NET Core 6.0.6 is working good now. dotnet --help no longer fails. I will have to test further and work on a couple of minor issues. In the process, I have determined how MS will likely disable .NET Core on Windows 7. Calls to BCryptCreateHash are first done with a flag only supported on Windows 8 and up, then again without the flag if the call fails. They will remove that second fallback call right away in a cleanup of legacy code.1 point

Yea! Microsoft Edge is working fine! I noticed a strange issue that is happening with https stuff (with Vanilla Windows Vista too). If I access a page that uses https with Chrome or Firefox I can access it without issues, I even updated the certificates. But, if another app tries to access an http site, it usually fail! So, Chromium installers, as an example, fails to download the program, and it's not a firewall issue. Did I missed any hotfix or update? That's is something anoying.1 point

Hello, just a short update! The writing of documentation has been finished, hopefully (all the flies have suddenly disappeared, very strange! ). I did a lot of tests, performed a few adjustments. Fortunately, no new bugs have been occurred. At the moment I am creating the archive containing all necessary files. Furthermore, some final test have to be performed to finish private testing. And then, very soon, the beta testing can be started. So, stay tuned! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Just an additional observation! I have two different Windows XP Professional SP3 partitions on my old computer. On the one all POSReady updates are installed, on the other none. After several tests of ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 on both partitions, I can confirm that no POSReady updates are necessary to run the proxy. it does not seem to matter to have installed any POSReady updates to access websites in IE via TLS 1.3. It simply works.1 point

Hello again! This is the schedule of tasks to be done for ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3: Writing a complete documentation (that is not so much fun! ), private testing of my package, fixing of potential bugs, creating an archive containing all necessary files, a short beta test, and then publishing my release of ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3. You see a bit of work has still to be done. So, stay tuned! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Hello to all! Here is the next update on progress in the development of ProxHTTPSPoxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3. Actually, the programming work should have ended, but, after further tests I found some new bugs. I could fix them, at least I think so. I hope there are not more. As promised I uploaded a screenshot of ProxHTTPSPoxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3. Here it is: Looking at the picture you can see two new entries in the pop-up menu, Minimize ProxHTTPSProxy To Systray and Restore ProxHTTPSProxy From Systray. The arrow shows ProxHTTPSProxy minimized to systray. I replaced the new icon of @cmalex's ProxyMII by the old one. More new features are inside my package and not visible in the picture. One thing is clear, of course, the best feature of this package is the TLS 1.3 functionality, provided by @cmalex's ProxyMII. We can't thank him enough for that! Applause applause! More in the next days! Stay tuned! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point
-
I hadn't had much hope that this would happen. But, from now on, we definitely have a proxy with TLS 1.3 protocol support targeting Windows XP. More details can be found in my thread: I'll keep you informed. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Yes, no touch needed, but I found XPIs must be placed in both folders browser\extensions + chrome\extensions, otherwise nothing happends. So If anybody want, here is updated silent SFX installer. Contains all 24 languages in which were XP released + Adblock. Mypal is installed to %ProgramFiles%\Mypal + Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts are created. For future updating, just open EXE with WinRAR and update all files from newer Mypal release. This installer is must have for my XP2ESD project where will be included. Now I need to find out how to enable language pack to switch language, seems like nothing happends after click on "Enable" https://www.mediafire.com/file/opvx7nwirymkofz/Mypal-all.exe/file1 point

While it has seen little activity as of late , it wouldn't hurt, IMHO, to also post in the Programming MSFN subforum ; OTOH, posting multiple copies of the same "plea" should, in general, be avoided (Forum Rules -> Posting Guidelines -> 2.a) ... Kindest regards1 point

Update notification! Both versions of my Root Certificate and Revoked Certificate Updater have been updated and are now of 05/24/2022. Just a reminder! This thread here is about our proxies ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy. All discussions about browsers relating to these proxies are welcome! But general considerations of browsers should be done in browser related threads! Otherwise, we were totally off-topic and that wouldn't be good! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Not me! ONE is my limit! Too much of the web has migrated to polyfill shenanigans that I've opted to revert from 360Chrome v11 to v13 build 2206. Just too much of a d#mn hassle to maintain browser profiles to have to do it for more than ONE. The only way I'd ever use "multiple" browser is if I did not use uMatrix + Tampermonkey + Proxomitron (replaces NoScript for my needs) + Stylus. If it were only about maintaining bookmarks, that would be one thing, but some times I feel like it's a full time job (8hr/day) just to maintain ONE browser profile. 8hr day times 3 browsers -- that's 24hrs per day. Nope, not gonna happen!1 point
