It's true, that we live in dark times for humanity as a whole, but then to detoxify from all this - we'll talk only about good things in life, if you want... I picked up an oldish (I think c 2014) 2TB USB external drive; model SRD00F1, contains a 2TB Seagate. Did a check with HDTune and there were a few bad sectors. Did a reformat as NTSF. I ran chkdsk H: /F/X/R from Win 7 and after a few hours it completed, marking a few bad sectors, and HDTune now shows no bad sectors. But the test pauses a few seconds on a few sectors. Copying files to it, it also paused on a few files. So is there a way to put any marginal sectors as "bad"?. I know the disk can never be trusted 100%, but it runs smoothly, can hear no clicks when accessing. So I think I can use it for moving data, etc..

Likely you have a number of "slow" or "weak" sectors. You need a tool like Victoria to assess the situation. IF these sectors are all concentrated in one area (or a handful of areas) of the disk, the easiest would be to exclude the affected area(s) by some clever partitioning. Only for the record, once upon a time (cannot really say if it i still done, I doubt it) "huge" multi-platter disks (think of the 500 GB disks some 15 years ago) with defects were "refurbished" (in some countries) by disabling one or more heads and resold as having a smaller capacity. jaclaz

@msfntor, he will chill . It's just I think he is somewhat right , not that I'm saying you're wrong . But we all gotta agree on something . Like in the 5th century , when the Saxon tribes agreed to use the language of Angles (English). He is right about web-gl and web-rtc , for example . Dixel wrote it somewhere too , earlier . I totally agree it shouldn't be used , avoid such websites is our advice .

Very nice! Life can be very toxic and we all could use a detox and appreciate (shift focus on) what is right rather than always focus on what is not. What a amazing world this would be without the toxicity that spreads all too easily. We all have the ability to spread love; I'm not saying pretend things are bed-of-roses, but every rose has its thorn, and, though, hard to sometimes find, look for the silver lining. If 10 things bother us, try to find 9 that are good each day, even if waking up and breathe fresh air and look at nature ... nature never lets us down. There is no answer to that. None! You will need to try them all and decide that for yourself. It really boils down to what YOU use your browser for. Some folks play online games - I do not. Some folks require WebGL - I do not. Some folks are heavy into Twitter and Facebook - I've never visited either. Some folks stream Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, et cetera - I do not. Some folks are huge into YouTube - I am not. Some folks use YouTube alternatives that seem to be more problematic than YouTube itself. Some folks stream online audio that some browsers are fine with for half an hour or so but start to skip or stutter if left open all day long. You really need to answer this question on your own. There is no answer. If there were, there wouldn't be so many to begin with. They all have pros. They all have cons.

Best to just be nice to everyone here to be safe. The forum rules are for direct talking but Vistapocalypse didn't use it that way. The word dude has some different types of meaning to different people. In general in the US it is just used towards everyone and no one cares about it. How it can be used in other countries and which of the historical "definitions" or connotations it is associated with I don't know. Such as if the word became known in x country to relate to one of the old meanings such as "person from city/out of their element" and then that country did not go through the word progression that happened in the US, then many TV and movies from US use the term, there may be a different understanding in that country. But in general "dude" is casual speak and can work everywhere but in a professional or corporate environment. As such, there are some people who take offense to the word dude, typically professionals and those in corporate environments, doctors or government people. But no issue for anyone to call anyone dude on the forum.

I have gathered a large variety of updates, tweaks, other software / addons for XP x64 / 2k3 x64; of which I believe will or can be useful depending on the users needs. Now, I can't guarantee that I have all the updates are here but, I can at least offer what I have managed to collect. I hope that this collection helps some of you from at least having to hunt down some updates / software yourself.
