  1. for me it seems you have not been cheated in your life or been lucky to find one that actually care from you. I am not egoist and I rather use my time people around me that actually care and is greatful for my doings. I cant understand why it would not be ok to be single and focus things on life that actually matter and been there longer than any relationship. Relationship should be more than just status symbol or something that happens on bed but nobody seems to care to want that.

  2. Be sure to read their Privacy Policy. Some extensions claim "security" but it comes at a gigantic invasion on "privacy". So you have to balance "security breach 20% of the time" with "privacy breach 100% of the time".

  4. Pretty much what the title says ! I had written a complicated tool to forbid Firefox doing it's nasty things , what things ? Read more here : https://msfn.org/board/topic/183138-mozilla-and-firefox-has-turned-into-evil-and-lie-to-their-userbase-leave-it-and-go-for-alternatives/?do=findComment&comment=1207584 I did this a long time ago , but I was lazy/busy to create this topic , I don't like to type , I could be lazy to reply , etc. I do not like to talk/text much, in general. I prefer to create something useful , like this miracle. I used brutal techniques from the 90's, early 2000's . I did NOT hack or modify any of the Firefox browser files , so I'm not in violation of the forum rules . The tool works by intercepting and/or redirecting , blocking the telemetry/pings/requests , certain APIs , etc. No Mozilla files were modified and this programme works with a wide range of FF versions ! The Mozilla code is rather primitive , reminded me of some japanese software. One example of how it works . 1- Firefox wants to generate my unique hardware ID and then send it to the Mozilla servers , thus creating a unique user ID (guinea pig's tag). I say : "screw you , sore losers , I do not allow you to make the hardware ID", so the tool intercepts and blocks it immediately ! (How ? It's a secret , I'm sure the FF staff will read it , try patching it , and I don't have time to redo the tool). It works on the fly , it forbids the browser to chew up your RAM with a ton of unneeded processes (Optimize browser button). Main languages : British English . Dutch is there , but not activated for now , I'm sure our Dutch folks won't have any problems with English. Also, I added translations for some Western European Languages like Spanish . And several Eastern European : Bulgarian , Czech , Polish , Lithuanian , Ukranian , I just figured users from these countries could have problems understanding English , while the Dutch , Germans and French most likely won't , so no German , French or Italian. Perhaps I will add more in the future . I do not promise anything ! Most of the "hacking" (reducing the junk which is 100% not needed at all) is being done without the user interaction , I left only some of the functions that could be changed , in case you would want to be fingerprinted voluntarily , lol. To change the UA , you would need to restart the browser , though. This tool is so powerful , it literally mocks everything these dilettantes had been doing all those years to track you ... I'm still not sure If I was right to post this , perhaps I need to delete this. It's based on my previous tool for Chromium browsers , so may have some of the code leftovers . I shared the early alpha release for chrome 360 (without the UI) with some members . But now it's almost obsolete due the newer functions, also I created a cool interface , like this one . It gives you total control over your browser. I'm scared to share it in the open , but I still want this to be MSFN exclusive , so I may share it with the certain top members (moderators) and [probably] @win32. You ask why ? Imagine this tool in the wrong hands , coppers , FF "team" . This tool needs to be used by good people only , who care about their privacy . You gotta understand , I can't see who's hiding behind his nickname , it's nothing personal ! Yet again , I shall share it , but with extreme caution. No AV reacted to this tool during the testing. Fully supports AERO theme , can be seen on the screenshots below :

  5. "We're here for such a short time. It's important that we matter. It's important that we live our lives in a way that endears us to others. That in the short time we're on this earth, we make a difference in a positive way, in the lives of others. That we're good. Kind. Generous when we can be. Patient. Understanding. Firm when we have to be. Honest. True. Because in the end, all these things add up..."

  8. Don't eversell it, you've cited some gigantic negatives with DcBrowser over the past couple of months also. Here's one, I didn't want to go digging up all of them -- https://msfn.org/board/topic/182993-360-extreme-explorer-arcticfoxie-versions/?do=findComment&comment=1208299 I may end up doing a build with it "eventually", but as-is I have too much on my plate already.

  9. Thank you and I changed the title to something a bit more friendly and welcoming So much propaganda on TV - They just scare us and sensationalize every and any bad thing. I most often have it in the background with no sound whist I'm on the computer or playing a game.

  11. Thank you @Dixel ... was also going to like your posting but weird to like your situation. Yeah, just need to hold on, I guess. PS: Welcome to our little café here ... more than 1 word is (always) awesome and everyone is welcome to chat about anything at all

  12. My second first car when I was a teenager was a '74 Mercury Bobcat (second was an '84 Plymouth Horizon). Basically 99% identical to the Ford Pinto - only difference was an all-glass hatchback. Paid $100 for it, spent an afternoon putting a new rear main seal in it, drove it for six months or so, sold it for $600.

  13. I would buy a Ford Pinto in a heartbeat if I ever found one! Maybe then people would stop tailgating me! Here's what most people don't remember - Ford WON the lawsuit that "claimed" their vehicles caught fire when rear-ended. The Pinto had the same EXACT flaw that every other car on the road had -- rear axle lined up even with the gas tank.

  14. I wont bother looking for another one again. All I had were first interesting then found out more or they did not like way I was. Time for you to start living again and give time for yourself and hobbies. I have started think they are not worth my time and should not waste my life them. I noticed your notifications since had mentions like crazy and was thinking why but this explains a lot.

  15. Ha, very cool thread! I'm feeling very good now, after buying a memory foam mattress topper, thanks to which I don't get up in the night so often (before every 2 hours on average, now 1 time, after sleeping 5 hours in a row!) yes, very painful for those who listen to TV... but I live normally, like before. I don't watch TV at all. I think I'm being normal, like always.

  16. Well actually the developer is nice, from what I see with a Hex editor, it seems that the dll dynamically loads Using LoadLibrary(Ex)W: api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll, combase.dll, advapi32.dl, mscoree.dll And some functions of the "fiber local storage" API with (from Kernel32.dll) and InitializeCriticalSectionEx and some more... It probably depends on several of those and fails to load under XP. Clearly the developer lost some time to import dynamically all of those. I think he decided that making the dll XP compatible was too hard and that the compromise he choose is that the DLL would not load under XP and you would have no jxl support, however it will not prevent the rest to work properly.

  17. i think you meant already went. Tell me is there any real alternative that would not have any depencies on big corpos? Many times it all comes back to library or render engine or other from big corpos. I cannot see use of articles on this one yet until is offical. Lets hope lack of those wont bother you too much

  18. ??? You just wrote it yourself. You can replace "the" with "its" . Youtube is hiding the dislike count from its videos. Censorship or your benefit? (spoiler: it's the first one). The dislike count is something that was implemented by youtube for the videos on their website (not just some abstract videos).

  19. You mean like in the badly titled newspaper articles or clickbaity sites[1], I see . jaclaz [1] particularly US-based ones, where - besides the article title - the contents of the "long form" are often interspersed with unneeded anecdotal references, pointless trivia and useless descriptions, something like: An ex-DJ from Holland hacked Mozilla/Firefox code and wrote a tool to mock this pitiful "browser". I observed this handsome young man crossing the parking with his distinctly athletic pace after having carefully parked in a tiny slot a classic VW Beetle, delightfully painted in a rather uncommon shade of turquoise. He was here to meet me for the interview and just from his clothing (dark tie, informal shirt, paired with a sporty yet classic jacket) I could see his mid-European ancestry and his obviously marked attitude to communication, undoubtedly derived by the long years he was a re-known DJ and by the classical studies he undertook before. Yet, surprisingly, even without any formal education in computer science he managed to create something that thousands of qualified programmers failed at, as a simple hobbyist and in his spare time. What can only be described as an on the fly, real time, Mozilla Hardware ID preventer or blocker, a software device that promises to solve many of the privacy issues that anyone navigating the web with Mozilla Firefox is daily confronted with . The details on how the at the moment unnamed tool works are obviously reserved, but the existence of a transparent to the user mechanism that at the same time increases the privacy and reduces the amount of unneeded processes that the browser would otherwise spawn, hogging RAM and slowing down the computer, can only be called a miracle (some of the fans of this incredible tool are proposing to call it HUMP, short for Hollandaise Ultimate Miracle Piggyback, but many other ones simply call it TUT, The Ultimate Thing). When we shook hands my first impression was surely confirmed, unlike the weak, soft grip that is typical of so many professional programmers I met before, his was definitely firm, yet at the same time comfortable and conveying a sense of reliability, a sort of power under control that is difficult to describe in words. ....

  20. Yeah , I'm somewhat disoriented too , but we need to hold on ! This damn new "normality", when it's getting heavier and heavier to live ,like we lived before, is starting to get on my nerves , and I'm a very calm person . Was going to put a like on your post .... but it would be weird to like your current condition , wouldn't it ? I'm with you , man .

  21. Even I can feel tired , lol . Pretty busy days , besides everyone needs my help . My new girlfriend (which I was looking for almost a year) didn't live up to my expectations , time spent in vain. I shall sleep for several days and ressurect my super energies. Got dozens of notifications for this one day , I'll try to answer to everyone , just need to rest . On a bright note , I'm single again and that means more time for myself , computers and MSFN , of course !

  22. Interesting, so the original wlanpref.dll does partially work. It might be possible to just add the Windows 7 DLL, eg. renaming both the DLL and MUI file to wlanpref2, then changing, or preferably, adding new reference in registry with a different GUID (using original GUID and just changing the last number might be enough). The former variant seems to work, have yet to try the latter. There is a catch, TrustedInstaller is the only user that can change that part of registry. I can confirm this is actually possible, no replacing existing files or changing any existing registry entries required. Take the needed files from Windows 7 install and name them wlanpref2.dll and wlanpref2.dll.mui. Open wlanpref2.dll with some hex editor and find the following byte sequence: 86 32 6E ED CD 87 Replace it with: 86 32 6E ED CD 88 Only the last byte differs, the sequence is last part of the GUID. The files can now be copied to appropriate folders on the target system. The last step is putting correct registry entries in place. I'm attaching wlanpref2.reg which can be used to import needed entries. To be able to use it, regedit must be run as TrustedInstaller. To do that, I used Process Hacker with TrustedInstaller Plugin. The GUI can now be invoked with: explorer.exe shell:::{1FA9085F-25A2-489B-85D4-86326EEDCD88}
