  1. Past hour
  2. There was a leak, my first release wasn't protected with X-prot, so someone, someone I shared my app with, had hacked it and made another launcher app based on my knowledge, but it's nowhere near as good as the original, that person didn't know all secrets. Clearer now?
  3. Probably the same people who started spreading rumors that Linux is open source. I'm having trouble reconciling how something shared with a small circle of friends could be thought of as famous. Horse-famous, maybe?
  4. I never saw any links to it. I only saw someone at github asked win32 to publish the source code to that mysterious dll file, but no answer. Usually it's at github, these days.
  5. When you ask a question on a public forum, it means anyone is free to answer. So I'm answering. Many people started spreading rumours (based on nothing, no one ever gave any links) about Supermium being fully open source, and some even started to believe that, all until someone finally figured out: Supermium needs a special dll without which it doesn't work at all, meaning it's all close source in the end, I mean the whole browser. What's so hard to understand or why are you having troubles to reconcile? https://www.deepl.com/translator
  6. Huh? I'm asking Dixel if he's sure the source wasn't published (and not getting an answer). Also pointing out the question is not rhetorical &, not being a coder, i wouldn't know where to look. Not sure how i could've been more explicit. having trouble reconciling this with
  7. Yesterday I downloaded an update for ie 5 that added 128 bit security. Maybe we can add protocols that way too? If we could add things like https like that it would already be a bit better to use.
  8. If you're so sure, please give the link.
  9. What do you mean? I decided not to. Some people don't appreciate our hard work and make scandals out of thin air. I also made Supermium starter app. But share only with the ones I want.
  10. Are you sure win32 didn't publish the source? Thought he did. (real question, not a coder & wouldn't know where to look) You didn't publish the source? How come?
  11. Today
  12. So what? They share between themselves via PM. But no links in public. I also shared my personally written programmes with certain members. Some of them wrote similar software based on my knowledge and findings, My famous Chrome/Opera starter app., for example.
  13. Then --enable-low-end-device-mode would better suit your needs, in theory it should combine many, including these. Don't throw stones at me, if not. Just try. *use without quotes.
  14. Goes something like: 1. win32 publishes progwrp.dll code, which is picked up by Alex313031, and, apparently, IDA-RE 2. IDA-RE, who is not win32, releases a version of win32's dll, calls it progwrp.dll v. 1.2.0.5035 3. IDA-RE, who is not win32, takes down his work (progwrp.dll v. 1.2.0.5035) -- both the source and the binaries ∴ win32's Supermium is not open source, QED. ?
  15. Use in conjunction with --component-updater=url-source=0.0.0.0 Otherwise it would still check for available updates at certain intervals. It won't update them, but these checking connections is better to avoid.
  16. I think Klemper's logic is very simple, and I tend to agree, no source for that particular dll would mean Supermium is indeed close source, it's simply won't even launch without it. It's not "hearsay", no source for that dll was ever published, I looked.
  17. The ida-re binary (downloaded this morning from github) for the dll now only offered in source is attached - but run at your own risk. MODERATORS: please advice-delete as you see fit -like you always do EDIT: As per @NotHereToPlayGames, the source is a mere readme, so I deleted the binary in the attachment. If you are using it, do it in a VM.
  18. I don't follow your logic. We are talking about IDA-RE dll. It offers source (therefore, provided you build it, open source), but the binary has dissappeared from the server. As per supermium, for what I have heard (I have not looked for source) it may only offer that dll in binary from, no source. So that particular dll, if the hearsay before is true, would probably be (or is) closed source.
  19. Without that .dll the browser doesn't work. Conclusion - Supermium is a close source programme.
  20. I just ran into that also. I guess I should have read all of my unread's before posting, lol.
  21. I'm not finding a DOWNLOAD. Only a "source code" zip which unzips to a useless-to-me "README.md".
  22. It's so annoying when google does this, another tech youtuber which I watch, his website was flagged as dangerous for no reason. It's stupid.
  23. I welcome the alternatives and the open source (initial) input of this new developer, though. Let's see what transpires.
  24. Hi there. I'm sticking to supermium. I've been trying this IDA-RE thing, but I'm unsure I will make it my default. Reasons: (1) I know who @win32 is, and even though his particular dll is (I understand) closed source, I kind of trust him. Hopefully he'll revise this policy. (2) This new dll seems to be an improvement (can't really judge, though), but generates debug errors ([0509/163849.000:ERROR:registration_protocol_win.cc(136)] TransactNamedPipe: The pipe has been ended. (0x6D)), without apparent effect on performance, but I don't have the knowledge to understand why. (3) Today in the morning I could download the binary, while as of now the binary is gone -what is left is only the source-. Just sayin.
